The American Ornithologists Union website has checklists for both North America
and South America (second tab from left at top of page). You'll need to check
more closely than I did to see if they separate North from Middle America in
the excel spreadsheet that you can download from that site.

These are sparrows of which I am aware that have been reported here in the
Cayuga Lake Basin at some point:
GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE - a western bird, with one record here many years ago which
included an Ithaca Christmas Bird Count
EASTERN TOWHEE - common Spring/Summer resident, h
An ORCHARD ORIOLE is singing over towards the Fuller Wetlands NW of the
building right now, perhaps the same bird France saw earlier. It's almost
annual now that an immature male shows up at Sapsucker Woods, I will check
in a little while to see if I can get a look at this bird.

PS When I asked if anyone would like a ride to Mark Chao's Birdquest on
Sat. to the McIlroy Bird Sanctuary, I should have included that I live just
east of Collegetown. I'll be driving out rt. 366, through Etna and
