applications I was trying (mostly changing the *name* of the browser
from 'chromium-browser' to 'chromium').

@Bryce: I started having problems around Quantal Beta2, Unity, and found
that moving to the nVidia proprietary driver would either eliminate the
problem, or make it very rare (I did not experience this issue at all

Upgraded to Raring; when booting using kernel 3.7.0-2-generic, a login
to Kubuntu/Ubuntu fails with the errors shown in the attachments.
This has been happening since Quantal, around Beta2 -- on Quantal, I
would have such a failure (or a GPU lock-up, like in bug 1048701) ever

Mouse/touchpad buttons only work for left button. There is nothing in
the options list that requires usage of the alternate button; as such we
sould be able to select options using *either* button.

On a networked system, I see, in the installer syslog, that Ubiquity is
downloading pretty much the same set of files. So, indeed a networkless
install will not have full language support.

Setting to High, tagging rls-q-incoming, milestoning: got hit by this on
the Quantal desktop ISO 20121005:
Steps:
1. boot from ISO
2. select to run Ubuntu
3. after a while, apport kicks in with this error. Selecting System
Settings/Additional driver will, of course, produce the same error.
