Skip et al,
Settling on a sensible list of frequencies will take some studying
FYI.. Here is a list of specific frequencies used by Winlink HF
stations, May 2010 list. Many have multiple stations using the
particular frequency. The list is world-wide.

Well Andy,
I have that $1K modem.
but in order to run WINMOR I would have to putout for a
new faster computer.
So what better? hen in hand or the one in the bush?

I can't disagree with your points Dave. However, until I have more
experience with the busy detect from the server end, I think I'll feel more
"comfortable" in the auto-sub band...at least for now.. Then , if I do
transmit on a busy frequency despite the busy-detect, I'll feel less guilty.
Despite
Just a reminder..when Winmor first stated, the idea was to establish a
mode that did not need a $1000 modem, and could at least achieve
Pactor 2 speeds. While it still can be a "finicky" mode, it appears
to be able to do what was first desired.
I just picked up three pieces of mail for me AND se
I disagree. Being able to operate outside the "automatic sub-bands" is an
incentive for operators to preferentially choose servers that include an
effective automatic busy frequency detector and to keep that busy frequency
detector enabled.
We're in a deep hole dug by those who ran (and continue t
Andy,
97.221 is what you're looking for, The ARRL website has part 97 listed there.

Anyone h
Andy,
If you are looking at frequencies for your Winmor operation in the auto control
subbands I can suggest some frequencies to avoid since they are the primary
NTS Digital operating frequencies..with Pactor 1, 2, and 3. NTS Digital for the
most part only operates in the auto control subbands a
Anyone have a reliable link to the FCC required band plan for unattended modes?
I have the IARU Region II bandplan but just remembered that it differs, I
think, from the FCC.

I agree Skip and have been studying the "unattended" sub-bands for suitable
frequencies.

Skip (and anyone else interested), see the attached screenshot showing
the Winmor server busy detect

In the software there is a check-box that is user selectable, when selected
by the Server owner... it will not transmit if the frequency is busy. I do
not have a lot of experience with it yet. On the client side, same thing,
and it works well. There has been some occasional discussion about remo
and a list via order of frequency
