radials should be laid out opposite each other. As for the appearance, you
can use #20 wire which will be invisible from ground level. Your vertical
will perform very well with that counterpoise system.

I've beent using the Jetstream JTPS28 switching supply with my K3 since Feb
'08 and it works like a charm. Weighs in at 4 pounds and never shows any
signs of heating up.

eload, everything was fine. I contacted Gary and he said
it could have been due to an overheating condition in the Front Panel and, that
letting the K3 cool down completely was the cure.
I have had no similar problems since then.

I am trying to programatically determine the status of the bar meter in
transmit mode. Maybe I am thick but I have not yet found a way to determine
whether the meter is in SWR/RF mode or CMP/ALC mode. Additionally, when the
meter is in SWR/RF mode and a BG; command is issued, the bar value retur
I use 2 outboard non powered stereo speakers which work well with the K3.
However, when I switch Noise Reduction and Dual PB in, the audio level drops
considerably. I have a small 5 watt stereo amp with low impedance input and
would like to drive the speakes with it. Having said that, I want to
the head of a
large corporation and the last thing I would do is provide my competition
with a road map of where I plan to go and when I plan to get there.

You're probably using the Front
Panel connection, so check your Main Menu "Mic Sel" setting and make sure
it is set to Front Panel. I have my VOX Gain set at 30.
