The workaround in that link was from a bug that has already been
reported, so there is no need to report it again.

Not sure if this is relevant but it is a fairly old laptop and is 64 bit.

I’m new to gnucash. Installed OK. Imported QIF file with 13 years of
Quicken data. Adjusted the Account hierarchy that was derived from the
Quicken categories. Then I connected with my bank for online banking
features. Everything up to then went great. On my first transaction

I upgraded this morning from Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful) to 18.04 (Bionic).
After doing so, my toolbar buttons in GnuCash are no longer large with

I like the large buttons with text, primarily because the graphical
icons in GnuCash are completely incomprehens
I am running 2.6.16 on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 machines. Given the

In Windows 8.1 I run 2.6.21 without problems; 3.0 is another story.
3.0 will not install at all. Installation attempts freeze about 33%
into the
install process. I have tried 4 times including using different
downloads in
case of corrupted files, always with the same result.

Raymond,
The most likely problem is that GnuCash did not detect that it was a new
transaction. That can happen foe a variety of reasons depending on which
file format is imported, the method used and which version of GnuCash you
are using.
For a better answer let us know exactly which version of
When I want to reopen Gnucash I have to go to the file when the old
files are kept and search them by finding the last file used and
entering it. How can I close the file so that when I return I can go to
he last file used. I tried just quiting and trying to name the file but
nothing seems to work.
When you restart gnucash it should re-open the file you had open last
time. Is it not doing that? If not then what does happen when you
start gnucash and *exactly* how are you starting it?
Also which version of gnucash are you using and what operating system?

Hi David, and thanks for a quick reply.
I am running GnuCash v3.0, git3.0+, build 2018-4-01; Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

In gnucash I simply did Actions/Online Actions/Get Transactions, specified
a date, and it downloaded 12 of 13 transactions that the bank had which
were dated after the last da

Raymond,
You are ahead of me, I am still running releases 2.6.11 or 2.6.19 depending
on which box I am using. Release 3.0 in windows version has some issues
that are show stoppers for me so I will be waiting for a while.
That said, it does work nicely for users that do not need the things that

What are you calling a "three way split"?

Hello
This is a bit of inconvenience introduced in version 3.0
Earlier when I open sub-windows like "Find transaction", "Due invoices
reminder", "Due bills reminder", "Find invoice" etc., a small window
would open.
Earlier after opening those windows I could press "Alt-Tab" and switch

Peter,
Not sure what you mean by 3-way split.
Do you mean 3 splits total? Certainly, that is possible.
A transaction can have many, many splits.
One split will be a debit.
One will be a credit.
The others will either be debits or credits as needed, BUT...
The total of all debits must be the sa
There is a thread on the dev list about this a week or so ago. It has to do
with Gnucash’s switch to Gtk+3. It will be possible to get the labels back, but
they have to be coded in and you won’t get the option to toggle them. (Gtk
removed this option)
I’m not sure if work is being done to add t
