Howdy, (new to the list - and a new user of LyX - great program btw!)
I'm having a problem including any sort of graphics in a document. They
add just fine, but when I go to export or view the document (DVI, etc.),
I get a dialog box "There were errors during the LaTeX run.", and when I

Hi!
Is there any way to shorten down a TOC which contains loads of
subsubsections
in an "oldfashioned" way like this:
Chapter 1..1
Section 1.12
Subsection 1.1.1.3
Coins 4, Groins 5, Fever 7,
Wars 8, Platypus 11
Subsection 1.2...

Set $QTDIR correctly, and use --with-frontend=qt. You may need to use
--with-qt-includes/libs ..

It is an _official_ standard, but I believe that most people use Qt
version.

Simply replace the icons in the lyx installation with your own ones ...

Lyx seems to behave in a strange and counter-intuitive manner, i can't figure out if
this these are bugs or a feautres.
1) In the program menubar (File, Edit, Insert, Layout...) when i select a tab (for
example: Edit) and then try to select the next tab (in this case: Insert)
the mouse pointer

Its not very important, so if there is no simple solution, just leave it.

Lyxers,
does anybody know
1. how I can create pull-down menus in the toolbar?
2. how I can change the size of the icons in the toolbar?

Thanks for the quick answer
\xrightarrow is supported 'natively'.
Just make sure to enable AMS.
The problem is the optional argument, not just using \xrightarrow
If it is indeed imposible, might it be better if there was an option
within math mode to enter pure latex, without Lyx "helping"

Hello,
I've just been trying use the command \xrightarrow with it optional
argument, e.g.
\[ leftside \xright[down]{up} rightside \]
Is it possible to do this (and in general use optional arguments in
math/display mode)? I've tried writing it as regular text (without the
\[ and \]) and turnin
OK I think you are right and that somehow Latex cant get itself into
the temp directory. Yap manages OK as when I create the dvi
manually and then do a view -> dvi from lyx it runs and sees OK.
Anyway, dead cat territory, I tried from the command line "lyx -dbg
3" and everything works. Him

There are two attempts to make TeX behave with UTF-8 (aside from Omega,
which IMHO still not fully mature):
