Jim Cathey said 5w20 Mobil 1 but I suspect ATF would be equally decent. You
could I suppose also use cable lube if you had it ;)

If it's 10 mph slow, reposition the pointer on the shaft.
However, if it's 9% slow, put on bigger tires, it's not the
speedom
if you've got both a wonky speedo and tach, wouldn't that suggest that
you're looking for a common issue, like the ground buss for the
instrument panel?

Are you 1000 percent sure it's the correct speedometer for your model
year SL? I had similar variations in speed for a 1985 300 D with a
non-correct replacement speedometer.

just fine. Tach is spazzed out and will need acute attention.
The tach pegs when you start the car and just stays there. Used to flop a
