As long as one is spending on a transformer.. might as well use a

As even LED have switchers in them, look for 12V LED spot lamps which run on
AC/DC and give them a try. They have 3 LEDs and I don't think they have a
switcher PS. A 12V transformer PS will work without filter cap IMHO. Low noise !

(Ithink) next to it.
One addl. note:
The only thing that people must remember is to unbolt the "L" mount clamp which
bolted through the central divider, to remove the top small board. Otherwise
they will detatch the 3 pin temp. sensor.

ector. The 10Mhz output seems to have been added by the
vendor, I see a crude hole drilled and burrs still intact and a SMA fixed
there. I wonder how the original unit had an output if there was no connector!

Thanks for all the info Arnold. I will study all these links ASAP.
I had a Garmin 12A (many years ago) that gave the actual height close to the
survey value of 928M ASL. I wonder if those calculated the real values..

did add a reverse polarity protection by soldering a 2A
diode between the center pin of the regulator and the +15 pin. I wish I can
find a schematic and what else I can do with this gizmo!

Ignatio and Charles,
Thanks. Makes sense to me now. I am interested only in the 10MHz frequency
generated and I suppose that it may not be affected by slight mismatch.

At 11-02-10, you
My GPS reading is about 850 +- 1
The "official" height ASL = 920
This calculator gives me ~936
So what should I use ?
Thanks

Thanks Stan,
I did that but I can't where to "start the survey" in TBolt. In lady heather
there
is a key for it.
