This was my first use of Kiso. I did run it once as root per
insturctions. After that I ran it again by right clicking on an iso file
and selecting open with Kiso.
There wasn't much to the backtrace it gave me, but perhaps someone could

I've encountered this bug too. I'm using ubuntu edgy amd64, and I have a
Lexmark E232 using the pxlmono driver with the Generic PCL 6 PCL XL ppd.
When I select printing only odd pages or only even pages in evince, it just
prints all the pages.

I don't know of anything we can do to control how many people report this
bug to GNOME, no.
Unfortunately nothing, of course.
What we can do is prepare, test and release a fix for Ubuntu, which is what
we are doing.
In the weeks after the fix was done, it didn't look like Ubuntu would use it.
I've installed a recent version of Edgy and the updater seems to work
perfectly now.

That is true, unfortunately. Not a use-case I tested, as I didn't expect
an Edgy build to cause a /etc/X11/Xsession running with DISPLAY set to
an Xvnc server to cause the process executing it to terminate, when
running an xterm and the like on the Xvnc server ran fine. A rather odd

The issue wasn't in speedstep-centrino, it was in the ppc code of acpi,
acpi_processor_ppc_notifier. My hack of commenting out code in the
speedstep-centrino code was to keep the acpi code from being used to

Matt, The minimum aging period has elapsed, that would be true if

I have disabled lock screen when screensaver is active but still I
get lock after resume from suspend.
Do nothing is not an option for me, because I want to suspend the
laptop, when I close the lid. There really should be an option for
disabling the lock when resuming from suspend.

This is quite an interesting question. No other desktop applications
depend on yelp, but they all use it as their help reader. Yelp is of
course included in the default desktop as part of the ubuntu-desktop
package.
The packagers seem to have taken the view that this is sufficient.

menu uses Yelp, no other Gnome programs do this. So either yelp should
be added as a dependency for all other Gnome programs which use it, or

incorporated into X.org, that's why there's no support at all. Please

This bug is mainly about the problem when X doesn't start and
/var/log/Xorg.0.log shows the following kind of lines:
(WW) ATI: PCI Mach64 in slot 8:0:0 could not be detected!
(WW) ATI: PCI Mach64 in slot 8:0:1 could not be detected!
(EE) No devices detected.
Ie. the upstream bug is about that.
Thank you for reporting this bug.
Could you please make a post with information about which version of Ubuntu and
of tetex-base you are using. And information about if this problem still exist
in newer version of both Ubuntu and tetex-base.

Does this bug still occur on Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft), cause I didn't have
this issue in 6.06 (Dapper Drake) and neither in Edgy Eft.

Thank you very much indeed.
In fact I found out what the failed was by another means and have corrected
it so I will change the uspalsh screen colour in slow time (probably when I
see another failed :-) )

I have the same problem. I have loaded a new blank html page and then I
went to page setup menu but Nvu crashed.

MonoDevelop 0.12 under Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) crashes when trying to set
Type hint in the Window Properties of a newly created window.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Start MonoDevelop.
2) Create a new GTK# 2.0 project.
3) Open the MainWindow.cs
This is the output on the console which MonoDevelop gives when crashing.

This is only partially correct: The dapper (and the edgy) package *still*
depends on tetex-base in general and not on tetex-base(=3.0). This is normally
not a problem since the tetex-base package in dapper/edgy has the right
version. However, it is in principle possible to install the

The Herd1 LiveCD boots fine on my ThinkPad A20m and everything-1 works
fine running from the LiveCD: I am able to mount my normal swap and home
partitions and use them, as I am doing right now.

The LiveCD boots fine on my A20m and everything-1 works fine running
from the LiveCD, including sound. I am able to mount my normal swap and
home partitions and use them, as I am doing right now.
The -1 is the installer - it goes away after step 4, and never
returns. Restarting X

The mixers all report that there is no sound device at all. The PC
beeper works.
