The importance on this needs to be raised. ping is essentially broken
with certain IP addresses, DNS servers, and negative responses. Maybe
the problem isn't in ping but is in the resolver library? I can't do the

Sorry, I assumed Hothead was the company behind Eschalon (well, it says
basiliskgames in the url, so I should have known better).

reliably crashes on this page:

Click on "Issuing ADB commands" crashes firefox and the following is printed on
the console.
$ fi
This is not related to the samba and firefox bug. I dont have samba
installed on this machine. As far as I can remember the bug propped up
after kde related package updates.

Found a USB device, got the hardy live-usb image onto it, booted my AAO,
mounted the harddrive
(mine has 120GB), chrooted, dpkg installed the .46 kernel, rebooted and I have
my old AAO back.
Thanks again for the tips on this list. Hopefully someone will discover what is
causing this kernel panic
