An update: when awaking from hibernate, just once every 5-6 times, the
keyboard/touchpad are not working. However the OS is running fine (I can login
remotely via SSH). As reported above, this very same behaviour is happening as
well in a normal boot/reboot.
I filed a separate bug for this

Usually, once every 5-6 times when I reboot or awake form hibernate, the
touchpad and keyboard do not work: no way to input text and login so I need to
hard reset the laptop. I can ssh in (so the system is not frozen) and Fn+keys
to change screen brightness etc always
Attached a tar gz file containing some log files (with .err suffix are the
ones I grab by loggin in remotely when the problem occours, with .ok suffix
are the ones after a successful startup)
dmesg: dmesg output when issue occour
proc.bus.input.devices.err : cat /proc/bus/input/devices when
b3nn0 script + sami-kankaristo suggestion to disable wake up on lid
(/proc/acpi/wakeup) fixed everithing for me. For the latted I addedd in
/etc/rc.local:
sudo acpitool -W 16
Shutdown, Restart, Suspend, Hibernate works perfectly both when plugged
in or running on battery.

and 10.10 when the proprietary drivers are not activated (and the video

I added the following two lines just before line 34 of /usr/local/bin/hocr-gtk
on .xsession-errors or, trying to run writer or impress
from the terminal, on stderr.
I only run Ubuntu in its LTS flavour, so I am not able to try to
reproduce this bug with a more recent version of OpenOffice.org.

The 2 packages (python-markdown and markdown) contain the same
/usr/bin/markdown file.
One is python version and the other is the traditional perl version.
I'd like to install both. However my personal tests seem to indicate

I had PulseAudio Equalizer installed and working in Ubuntu 10.04.1
However, when I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 beta it stopped working all

I was trying to update
Using 2.30.1 having the same issue. I noticed that my messages doesn't
post on facebook. I decided to remove and readd. But the add button
doesn't show. Each time I click authorize I get one box saying Success
and a blank box below it with active scroll bars. When I try to scroll
