I can confirm daburna's message.
I just made a sudo apt-get dist-upgrade, there was an update to
ubuntustudio-menu 0.5, but compiz fails to start:

After some research I started messing with NetworkManager and dbus. It
appears that one or both was semi-locked up or it's configuration
screwed up. Killing NetworkManager and restarting debus made my ethernet
interface selectable for about a minute. After that it was grayed out
and no longer selec
I resolved the problem by deleting /home/ant/.mozilla , so it may indeed be a
flash issue or an extension problem.
I 'll try restoring the folder and disabling all flash plugin.

the kernel not the driver itself (earlier kernels had no such problem).
Dropping the transmission rate seems to be a workaround for this but
isn't the solution per se. Hopefully someone will debug the problem

Addressbook crash
As I really need this package, I now "apt-get --build source"d it and
installed it using dpkg --force-conflicts -i. It worked just fine. So
maybe it just needs to be rebuilt and assigned a new version number?
Maybe it even works as is, I haven't tried using the binary package with
GIMP 2.4.

I have noticed this about dns 192.168.1.1
under Windows this dns works for me, under Linux here doesn't work!
Well ping to www.google.com for ex. works, but for unknown reasons browsers and
