I also am experiencing this issue. I isolated it to a single USB device
that causes my system to hang on boot at the exact same time as the
original reporter. The culprit is a Logitech Performance MX mouse's USB
receiver. The USB ID is ID 046d:c52b Logitech, Inc. If it's plugged

I wasn't able to attach both files to the original submission. Attached
is the syslog file.
Also, I have previously installed Kubuntu on this computer. This was a
reinstallation. I may have chosen the wrong option for GRUB (I chose
sda).

I find that pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keyboard shortcut in KDE will
bring up a menu that only contains a Logout option. I would have
expected the menu to contain many more options, such as Shutdown,
Sleep, and Hibernate, like in
