Re: 4d will not start ssl on 443
the helpertool prompt is only presented if you start the web server by code, menu or click. there is no dialog if the "start web server on startup" database setting is enabled. this is to avoid the UI showing up on an unattended service. I did not get any q. from helpertool when started up 4d server on 443 - it seems that it does not work. I have checked - the helpertool is present in the server package in Macos folder. ** 4D Internet Users Group (4D iNUG) Archive: http://lists.4d.com/archives.html Options: https://lists.4d.com/mailman/options/4d_tech Unsub: mailto:4d_tech-unsubscr...@lists.4d.com **
Re: 4d will not start ssl on 443
Are you also running any part of osx server? I have also found that sometimes the built in apace server gets started on the machine. In both cases the ports are in use and you will not be able to start your 4D with 80 or 443. Use `sudo lsof -i :8` and look for listeners. Then you may have to trace down who the service is running for. If you have OSX server running then your using both ports even if you have no known services running. > On Mar 27, 2019, at 12:32 PM, 4dialog via 4D_Tech <4d_tech@lists.4d.com> > wrote: > > I have installed ssl certificates and tries to start 4d server 16.5 on osx > 10.12.6 but port 443 will not open. > No ssl traffic gets to the webserver. RE: 4d will not start ssl on 443
Most likely you have a problem with the HelperTool that is used for publishing ports below 1024 (make sure you are an Admin or else this wont work). 4d will not start ssl on 443
