audiobooks through post.  we were not getting any proper response from
them for not accepting the books.finally I  personally visited the
post-office and found that system is not  accepting  the clause which
says  free literature for blind.

I too feel that this is violation of equality, as visually impaired cant drive 
even modified car. Neither it's necessary that one travels in self owned car. 
Hence why shouldn’t visually impaired be eligible for this benefit?  

I know so many individuals in this group can throw light on this and together 
take an action to get it amended.

I wanted to know if there’re any economical options for reading in braille via 
electronic devices. I rely for my reading mainly on phone, but the problems are 
that sometimes I can’t find it comfortable, and secondly, seeing me, my little 
daughter also is getting habitual of phone. I want to cut down my screen time 
so that she too can, and hopefully by this she also might cultivate the habit 
of reading.

Dear List members,
Hope all are fine there!

I am using HP Deskjet 3540 all-in-one scanner. Today after a gap of around two 
months when I tried to scan a document using ABBYY fine reader interface, I am 
getting an error:
"process failed, can not open twain source: HP Deskjet 3540 twain".
However, when I am using printer option of this all-in-one scanner, it is 
working fine.
So, please guide me that how to resolve this problem and oblige me.

Dear List members,
Hope all are fine there!

I am using HP Deskjet 3540 all-in-one scanner. Today after a gap of around two 
months when I tried to scan a document using ABBYY fine reader interface, I am 
getting an error:
"process failed, can not open twain source: HP Deskjet 3540 twain".
However, when I am using printer option of this all-in-one scanner, it is 
working fine.
So, please guide me that how to resolve this problem and oblige me.

Dear all,

The Blind Graduates Forum of India is back with yet another unique session this 
March. This time you can expect a glimpse into the world of multi-sensory 
learning, image processing and a lot more. To put it simply; all of us are 
aware of the challenges we visually impaired
face in our daily lives with respect   to travel, studies
particularly Math and Science, reading scanned documents, etc.
Recognising these challenges, Touch Vision, a Delhi based NGO has developed 
technology for the same. Read on to know more.
TouchVision,a social enterprise incubated at IIT Delhi aims at digital 
inclusion for the 253 million visually impaired globally. TouchVision kit 
enables affordable interactive access to learning material and games in audio 
tactile form using tactile diagrams with assistive audio descriptions powered 
by the mobile app. TouchVision Scandocs empowers users to access any print 
document. TouchVision Audio Tactile signages provide inclusive access to the 
message or content communicated through signages.
 About the Speaker: Ankita Gulati is the founder of TouchVision. She has been 
honoured with National Award by the President of India.
Ankita is serving as the youngest subject matter expert with Rehabilitation 
Council of India and also as the youngest member of board with WEE Foundation, 
IIT Delhi. She has received support from Department of Science and Technology, 
MHRD and Delhi Govt. for TouchVision and working with NCERT for dissemination 
of affordable products to empower people with special abilities.
 Details of the session:
Date: Saturday  March 23rd 2019 Time: from 3 PM to 6 PM.
The venue and other details of the session will be announced shortly.
So come let’s celebrate Holi this time with a difference. Looking forward to

You can only resize a picture proportionally. If it is 4000/3000 pixel, you can 
make it 1000/750, and not 1000/800. In that case, you can resize it to
1066/800 and then take sighted help to crop part of the width.

Another word of caution, don't increase the size, the picture may get distorted.

I am using this resize feature in ms office picture manager for years.

Objet : [AI] Problem in Posting Braille Books under Blind Literature Category 
vide Rule 136_

Hello,

During last two or three days, post offices are not accepting Braille books 
under Blind Literature category. According to the officer in charge, the 
minimum and maximum weight is showing as zero (0). As a result, they cannot 
accept any parcel of Braille books in Kolkata or nearby.

We are further told by our nearest post office and Kolkata GPO that they cannot 
solve this problem at local level and we must request Director General of Post 
to address the issue.

I wish, the facility of free postage for Braille books is not disturbed. What I 
note from a post office person is that the software package has been updated by 
TCS and the fault is theirs.

Anyway, if you face this problem don't delay in complaining.

It already comes with windows 10 that is the windows defender.
In my personal experience  I never required to install other anti virus 
softwares even though I am an intense  user.

The easiest way to accomplish the same is:
1. Open system tray using insert f11.
2. Find the defender antivirus using the arrow keys.
3. Use tab to find right single click button and press enter on it.
4. Use arrow keys to find scan option and press enter on it also
