Thanks Ajay. I was worried about the customized skin and all the adds that I
believe appear on the phone. I read about the adds in a ndtv gadgets review.

Re: [AI] Any accessibility experiences with the redme note 7 pro?

2019-08-19 Thread Ajay Minocha
Hi Pranav,

It is like comparing a mid-size sedan to a luxury one

Pixel any day has superior hardware, must translate in better
responsiveness. Redmi Note7 Pro although is reasonably accessible but
firmware is highly customized, can be annoying for stock android users
especially those who prefer to use a pixel.

Re: [AI] Good accessible phone under 15k

2019-08-19 Thread Ajay Minocha
Hi,

My recommendation : MI A3 (To be launched next week)
Why : Stock android under Android one programme, better hardware than
Motorola and Samsung, value for money

Why not Motorola?
relatively poor history at updates as well as solving firmware buggs.
Battery also doesn't respond well after 12-15 months of hard usage, I
got my hands on a MOTO G6 and the speaker was a clear nightmare.

Why not Samsung?
Nothing wrong but slow at delivering updates, installs a lot of
unwanted bloatware, MI provides better value for money.

Why not Nokia?
HMD global just doesn't match the standards set by good old Nokia both
in terms of Hardware as well as Software.

HTH,
Ajay

Re: [AI] Fwd: Please take back captcha from online.sbi.com it denies independent Net banking to visually impaired customers

2019-08-19 Thread shahid.seven
I'm not sure what is going on in their mind.
They could have added an extra layer of security instead of this obnoxious
captcha.
They have 128 bit of SSL encryption so simple is that you cannot paste anything
in user name and password fields. How bots can access I'm wondering.

If the banks have introduced CAPTCHA for their security, as it's creating
problem for us, let us hope and ask them to provide some kind of alternative
like entering the OTP sent to our registered mobile number to varify it's us as
an alternative of entering the CAPTCHA text or just bring some kind of simple
math problem sort of challenge, where we could enter the calculated value
instead of the CAPTCHA hope this issue is taken seriously by the bank and
changed as soon as possible.
Today afternoon also, as I tried to log in to the Online SBI website,
encountered the same problem of captcha, I have also written a feedback mail to
them, let's wait and see what happens, hope it happens soon, as it's very
crutial that we have to get easy access that is, quick to log in and out when
we need, which has made us lot of independent.

would be our humble request to do away with it. It seriously
hampers one's access from internet banking to big group of visually

I never used the word impossible! However, I have an opportunity with me at the
moment, but no one is willing to take it. The money is also not too bad. Please
do connect with me offline for the same if someone does want to take it on.

Dear Access Indians,
Finding suitable opportunities for people with Blindness is
extremely tough with most of us facing issues in understanding
suitable role, reaching out to the right connect & establishing our
credentials.I feel we need to crack roles, establish business case &
scale it across all sectors in India.
One such role with high scalable possibilities is content
writing.Brands are increasingly looking for free lance content
writers who can write reviews,stories,experiences,FAQ,Processes,AD
ideas & we could be great fit for such roles with screen readers &
flexibility of work from home.
I am trying to explore openings in such strength areas for people
with visual disability through small pilots & internship
opportunities & felt like sharing this idea. The entire Blind
community can definitely be a great supplier of all the social media
content across India boosting livelihood opportunities Let’s try
cold calling firms, blogs, websites & open up this entire arena.A lot
of people who are unemployed & are looking for avenues can consider
this. The initial remuneration might be relatively less but once we
learn the essence of writing content,we could definitely prove a
great business case to the Industry

Cheers,

Subject: Capture at online.sbi.com: Denial of level playing field to Visually
impaired customers

Warning: This email is not originated from SBI. Do not click on attachment or
links/URL unless sender is reliable. Malware/ Viruses can be easily transmitted
via email.
Dear Sir,
A am a visually impaired customer of SBI and am using Internet banking
independently for many years now. I had always appreciated and advocated
regarding high degree of accessibility of SBI online website. Same has resulted
in high degree of Financial independence to undertake various online
transactions. Recent move of SBI to introduce visual capture has robbed me of
this independence as I cannot undertake the transactions in an independent
manner.

Hon. PM of India had launched Sugamya Bharat Campaign (Accessible India
Campaign) on 3rd Dec, 2015 to improve accessibility of various facet of life
led by differently able persons. This campaign alongwith Digital India had one
of the key focus on improving the accessibility of various websites and make
them differently able friendly website. SBI being the flagship bank of India
has always maintain high degree of responsibility towards its different
categories of customers.

I would urge you to remove the visual capture altogether. In case it is not
possible to remove the same for security reasons then the option of OTP can be
introduced. This option is currently being actively used by various websites
(like IRCTC) to provide an alternate to visual capture.

Thanking you in anticipation of an urgent and affirmative response

Regards,
Vivek Singhal,
