[AI] Query related to UDID and railway concession card

2022-05-16 Thread megha patangi
Hi all,

I am actually struggling with something since an year now, so if
someone has better info related to this, will be of great help.

As you all must be knowing that persons with disability are supposed
to have UDID (unique disability identification) card, but does anyone
have knowledge of why this card?
I tried to read about this and my understanding was that this is a one
card in place of different cards we are needed to hold and will be
valid throughout India. Thus, I went ahead and got the card done this
January.
Now, for booking train ticket for long distance, I came to know that
UDID is not sufficient.

There is a different process. We need to visit District Railway
Manager (DRM) office, collect a railway concession form, fill it and
get is signed plus stamped by a government eye doctor, and submit at
DRM office. From here it takes another three months to receive your
railway card which consists some number, using which we can then book
concessional tickets.

My concern is that how is it making sense to go through so many steps
and still have multiple cards. Disability certificate, UDID, railway
concession card, etc.
Along with that, this card will be valid for only 5 years, and then
redo whole thing again.

Does anybody has similar experience, or have better knowledge/ solution to this.
Not sure whether I am missing something, but really circling through
never ending processes.

Regards,
Megha

Re: [AI] any portal for Online medicine booking?

2022-05-16 Thread Ram Kumar Sharma
Hi,

I order medicine from Pharm Easy.

The medicine delivery is very fast (same day if you place medicine in
the morning). They also offer discounts of upto 23%; thus you can save
lots of money if you have to order medicine regularly.
Medicine can be ordered through their app / through their website and
also over the phone.
I have not tried their app; hence can not comment over the accessibility.
Phone number for ordering medicine is 999229 and 7666120300.

They may ask you to upload the prescription but if you don't have one,
their doctor will call you and you can discuss your problem and he
will write the prescription for that particular medicine.

There is also netmeds.com but their delivery time is too long as they
send the medicine through courier and sometimes it takes nearly a week
to receive it.

Hope it helps.

Ram

2022-05-16 Thread Harshit Lohia
Hi List Members,
As per the above two instructions of RBI, all credit card issuers have
to disclose in writing reason for rejecting credit card application.
The above 2 circulars should be invariably quoted in written complaint
to bank and then to RBI Ombudsman.
Hope this helps

Hi,
In the Master Circular on Loans and Advances
M
1st
July, 2015 it is clearly mentioned that
"In case of all categories of loans irrespective of any threshold limits,
including credit card applications, the lenders should convey in writing,
the main reason/reasons which, in the opinion of the bank after due
consideration, have led to rejection of the loan applications within
stipulated time".

Further, in the Master Direction – Credit Card and Debit Card – Issuance
and Conduct Directions, 2022
dated
21st April, 2022 it is clearly stated that
In case of rejection of a credit card application, the card-issuer shall
convey in writing the specific reason/s which led to the rejection of the
application.

Re: [AI] Request to add the email ID and need the support for the person

2022-05-16 Thread Gaurav
Hello,
It is definitely possible to work as a software engineer being a blind
person. I know many people who are working in that field, and am going to
be one myself, and chartered accountancy, as far as I know, is fully
accessible as well(although I'd prefer if someone more qualified can answer
in regards to it, as I am not from a commerce background)
I would suggest they join this list:
https://www.freelists.org/list/program-l
it is a mailing list for visually impaired programmers.
Hope this helps.

[AI] any portal for Online medicine booking?

2022-05-16 Thread Minar Singh
Hi,
I would like to know that is there any portal for online medicine
booking and doorstep delivery portal? I was diagnosed with skin
cancer in 2019. I'm going through post treatment side effects due to
radiation therapy. I live with my father but he cannot manage to to go
out. My 2nd question is how to read medicine name? Some medicines are
having similar packing and shape. Is there any mobile app or device
which will help me to identify appropreate medicine name?

Hi Deepak,

I am Pramit having macular degeneration and very small peripheral vision is
left.

There was a reaction to a drug on my retina and I lost my vision very sharply.

To do my day to day tasks on mobile, I use a voice app named Louie Voice
Assistant.

The app can be fully controlled with voice commands only and supports Gmail,
Google search, Playstore, Uber, Google map, Whatsapp, FB messenger, YouTube,
phone calls, contacts, call logs, text messages and many more apps are on the
way.

Currently, Louie is available for android 7 & above.

If you are a voice lover like me I may suggest you this app to try it out once.

Hello all,

This is Megha, and I recently joined Access India mailing group.
I have Retina distrophy, almost similar to RP. I started experiencing the
impact of retina distrophy since I was in 8th grade, but could see manageable
till graduation.

Desired to be an air hostess, ended qualifying as a Company Secretary, and now
working as an accessibility specialist.
Strange I know, but this is all due to darkness of unawareness.

Air hostess job required some minimum sight which I knew I dont have.
Then spent years to qualify as CS, as I was not willing to take scribe for my
exams. Finally qualified as I agreed for a scribe and accepted my impairment.
Even then, I spent a long time at home and could not find suitable work
opportunity for me.

Co-incidently I came to know about screen reader, organizations providing
training in them and then started my journey again.
I got employed in 2017, and then with the guidance of mentors I chose to move
into the field of accessibility, and now well employed and confident to live
along with visual limitations.

I still definitely miss that I spent so many years qualifying as a CS but could
not work into, but I am happy that whatever I am doing now, its going great.

Happy to meet so many of you here, feels great to read about each story you
share.
Just thought to share a little about me, hoping that someone who is in his or
her initial journey, will feel confident that we can definitely do great.
All that is required is acceptance, awareness, and hard work with determination.

Stay happy!

Regards,
Megha

Re: [AI] Amazon pay ICICI credit Card and ICICI intolerable behaviour.

2022-05-16 Thread Payal Ki Jhankar
hi,
a couple of months back, Bharat Bharadwaj had a similar issue. there
is a rather long thread of 36 mails about it. i am pasting here the
last mail sent by him. please check with the thread in the archives to
see how it all went down.
Hi all,

So, finally I also received the physical card & the things are sorted for once.

In the meantime, I also have received a reply fromt he ICICI
customercare  for you to go through & judge for yourselves up to what
extent do they live up to their claims:

Dear Mr. Bhardwaj,

We write with reference to your complaint no. N202122014024901
addressed to The Office of RBI Ombudsman, Delhi, which has been
forwarded to us for due analysis and redressal with regard to the
concerns raised pertaining to your Credit Card Application
8201X5367. In this connection, we wish to state as under:

On receipt of your complaint we have verified the details and would
like to state that, in the absence of written VKYC guidelines for
visually impaired customers, biometric KYC mode is followed and guided
to customer. However in your case agent had incorrectly marked the
lead as “unable” instead of “rejected” due to which lead was not
assigned to agency for biometric KYC. Further we would like to state
that agency pick up was completed by  March 23, 2022 and we would like
to confirm that, your credit card application is approved and an
Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card no 43158002 is allocated in
your name. Further, the bank is in the process of dispatching the same
to you and you will be receiving the same in 10 working days.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. We
urge you to treat this incident as an exceptional occurrence and not
an indicator of our service levels.

We trust the above clarifies the concerns raised by you.

We affirm that ICICI Bank at all times acts with diligence, in good
faith, and in no manner prejudicial to the interests of its customers.

Looking forward to your co-operation in helping us serve you better.

Sincerely,

Divya P
Manager - Service Quality

Thank you,

Bharat.

Sindhu-tried calling.

Please write to the MD and take a formal response from them before taking next
step of approaching to RBI.

ICICI has been behaving bad off late and we need to pick up this one day for
sure.

[AI] A hello to all

2022-05-16 Thread megha patangi
Hello all,

This is Megha, and I recently joined Access India mailing group.
I have Retina distrophy, almost similar to RP. I started experiencing
the impact of retina distrophy since I was in 8th grade, but could see
manageable till graduation.

Desired to be an air hostess, ended qualifying as a Company Secretary,
and now working as an accessibility specialist.
Strange I know, but this is all due to darkness of unawareness.

Air hostess job required some minimum sight which I knew I dont have.
Then spent years to qualify as CS, as I was not willing to take scribe
for my exams. Finally qualified as I agreed for a scribe and accepted
my impairment.
Even then, I spent a long time at home and could not find suitable
work opportunity for me.

Co-incidently I came to know about screen reader, organizations
providing training in them and then started my journey again.
I got employed in 2017, and then with the guidance of mentors I chose
to move into the field of accessibility, and now well employed and
confident to live along with visual limitations.

I still definitely miss that I spent so many years qualifying as a CS
but could not work into, but I am happy that whatever I am doing now,
its going great.

Happy to meet so many of you here, feels great to read about each
story you share.
Just thought to share a little about me, hoping that someone who is in
his or her initial journey, will feel confident that we can definitely
do great.
All that is required is acceptance, awareness, and hard work with determination.

Stay happy!

Regards,
Megha

Re: [AI] Amazon pay ICICI credit Card and ICICI intolerable behaviour.

2022-05-16 Thread Harshit Lohia
Hi,
Since more than 30 days have already passed, you should definitely
give a formal complaint against ICICI Bank to RBI Ombudsman at the
portal www.cms.rbi.org.in
As per the RBI's recently released notification on operation of credit
card and debit card, the entire responsibility of credit card
operations lies with the bank in case of co-branded credit card. The
fintech partner (Amazon in this case) is responsible for marketing and
sourcing only. If you want to make your case stronger, you should also
attach CIBIL score obtained from your bank (which is paid facility, I
suppose). Credit score obtained from online platforms are approximate
and not accurate.

Regards
Harshit
