Imagine if there were an online business where you could earn a very handsome and recurring income simply by spending 10-15 minutes per week. To qualify, all you need is a computer with an Internet connection and some basic knowledge of the English language. Many of my friends here in VI community too are opted or wanting to opt the scheme. The exact plan is something like this. You give me $200 as an enrollment fee and in return, I will pay you $40 per month for the next 12 months. You make a neat profit of $280 with no effort but there’s something more. If you can convince some of your friends to join the program, you get a commission on their earnings as well and so on. The company in question is Speak Asia Online – they’re running an online survey business In India on a similar model and have been massively successful in their mission so far. I’ve been receiving emails from the company from a few months asking me to join their survey business, but i’ve never took attention at that time. It was only last month, after talking to some people, did I realize how popular they have become among households in India mostly through word-of-marketing. One of Speak Asia’s franchisee suggested on phone that they have more than a million members in India, that’s 1% of India’s total Internet population, and the above the advertisement and marketing campaign of the company is on its rise, and you can notice the words about speak asia in different news papers, TV channels, social media websites and other mediums. So, is the company a true player? Is it a legit or scam? Because some people have been sending me emails and asking about it, I thought to do a bit of research on this, and following is what I found out: Number 1: The company’s website – speakasiaonline.com – suggests that they are based in Singapore and the contact address listed on the website seems to match with the Whois information of their website domain. They claim to have a certificate from ACRA (Singapore’s compliance authority) but a quick search suggests the company is no longer eligible for receiving the “Certificate of Compliance.” The records, publicly available at acra.gov.sg, also suggest that the company “SPEAKASIA ONLINE PTE. LTD.” was previously known as “HAREN TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD.” and “PAN AUTOMOTIVES PTE. LTD.” but little do we know about their past operations. #2.: The company says their revenues will exceed $115m this year but if you Google the names of their top executives – Harendar Kaur (CEO) and Tarak Bajpai (India head) – there’s absolutely no information. That’s very surprising especially when these people are handling a successful and global business of this scale. #3.: In order to become a member of Speak Asia Online, all you need is a bank account and the company will directly transfer monthly revenues to your bank account from United Overseas Bank (UOB) Singapore. They require no documentation or proofs even when we have such strict banking rules in India around foreign transactions. #4.: The USD:INR currency exchange rate fluctuates around the INR 45

The museum has completed pilot programmes to accommodate blind visitors. Though the visually-impaired visited the museum earlier, they had to take the help of the guides and could only listen to the narrations. Now they can feel and learn by touching the objects, Bose said. As part of the art education programme for marginalised children, the museum is organising a 'tactile exhibition' for the visually impaired next month. Bose said: The exhibition will explore the nature of the perceptual power of the Indian images and gives audience an aesthetic, educational and spiritual experience through touching and feeling. It will give an overview of 'Indian sculptural art through ages', kaleidoscopic in its rich variety of form and colours, by the display of replicas of masterpieces, he added. An outline of ancient sculptural art of India to the special audience will be presented through display of replicas supported by bilingual braille text, facility of self-guided floor path and audio guide. Museum objects have no textual language, yet communicate more powerfully with people of varied categories by their own distinct forms, colours, textures, dimensions and so on, Bose said. This new initiative, proposed by National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (NIVH), Dehradun, the apex body in the field of education and rehabilitation of the visually handicapped in India under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, is expected to start within 15 days. A group of 15-20 partially and completely visually impaired members would run the radio station. The radio will be launched on January 4, the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, inventor of embossed reading and writing system for visually disabled. The institute has already converted all it's existing collection of more than 30,000 cassettes with the help of DAISY player software which helps visually impaired, said Jagdish Lakheda, training and placement officer of NIVH while talking to HT on Monday. Lakheda was in the city to participate in a workshop conducted for the visually impaired. The FM will have a frequency of 25 km, he said and added that the institute is also planning to launch a radio course for the visually impaired in Dehradun. The concept for this new initiative took shape five years back, but it started evolving as a separate unit one-year back, he said. The shows, which NIVH has already recorded for radio have already been distributed in a CD among the visually impaired students free of cost and among the institutions all over the country to check whether students are liking the shows or not. The shows will be informational, recreational and educational. Drama, poems, folk stories have also been included in the service and if this service gets success in Dehradun, the institution has planned to open its next FM radio station in some cities of South India, said Lakheda. Elaborating about the institute, he said, In NIVH, we have country's only National Talking Book Library for the visually handicapped which is fulfilling the intellectual needs of the visually impaired in the country. The library possesses more than 3,876 audio titles and more than 30,000 audiocassettes in Hindi, English and Sanskrit. I was so stupid at that time. However, past is past. Now, I came to know that we can find opportunities in many places. I feel so glad to hear that. But now, i'm confused of choosing the below two fields: 1. I'm interested in getting in to IT sector as the job is to be done using computers, i feel it suits better. I request the Techie guys present in this list l to advice me and give me guidance in choosing this career. 2. Getting a govt job before my vision gets deteriorate. and to settle as soon as possible.
