[AI] Gift Yourself A Barrier Free Travel Experience this Festive season <> Planet Abled
Hello Everyone, With the festival season approaching, so is the holiday season and hence the travel season. So don't waste your holidays at home when you can travel and explore new destinations and experiences and add an breathtaking chapter to the book called life. Why not Gift A Barrier Free travel experience this time to yourself or to your loved ones? Or perhaps to someone who otherwise won’t be able to afford it? What can be better than filling human hearts with intriguing travel experiences which are accessible, inclusive and barrier free for all. Whether its local city tours or authentic food trails, village getaways in the hills or rafting in the Holy Ganges, learning how to ski in the snow in Gulmarg or indulging in cultural or wellness immersions in Kerala, going down the history lanes of Rajasthan or following the trail of Buddha from birth to Nirvana in Bihar, witnessing the tigers in national parks or trekking in the mountains, exploring new countries or sailing on a cruise in the seas, we have got it all covered. One can travel solo, with family or friends, go on a romantic getaway, travel as an institution or organization or join a group tour to over 35 plus destinations across India. Just drop us a hello to tra...@planetabled.com with your travel wish and the Planet Abled genie would be happy to help you choose a memorable travel gift. Good News in Air Travel – Air travellers with disabilities would be counted. In a landmark judgement by the American Government, domestic airlines in America would be required to file monthly reports on the total number of wheelchairs/ mobility scooters they carry as well as how many are damaged in transit. Though right now its limited to domestic airlines in the USA, its still a welcome move to count the number of travellers on wheelchair and which airline is a better care taker of wheelchairs in transit. I personally look forward to this being adopted by all countries and all disabilities being counted so that everyone’s air travel experience can be improved. Upcoming Adventure tour – Last month we launched the Barrier Free Skiing tour in Gulmarg in February 2019. We have received an amazing response and look forward to change the way adventure travel happens in India. The trip would be a great learning experience if you are wanting to pick up a new sport to cater to your adrenaline rush. This trip is open for blind, deaf, certain cases of amputees and people without disabilities*. Yes, being inclusive is in our blood. :) Register at planetabled.com/skiing <https://click.mlsend.com/link/c/YT0xMDE0OTgzNjg3Mzc4MzEwMDM3JmM9Zjl6OSZlPTM3NTg3NTQ1JmI9MjExMDY0ODc0JmQ9bjBhMWo1dA==.OYo8w4wNqZrxl3CkqZOZTAHfiMi1BGmPu21khnwTpVI> to receive more details about this trip in your inbox. Re: [AI] Accessible Washing Machine details for VI people
Hi Madhu, Sincere apologies for replying late on this with the model number. I had been travelling so was not at home to check the model number. The model is LG top loading Turbo Drum Washing Machine with speech. Model Number is WF-T 7519PV This has got touch buttons but comes with a speech feature so with braille stickers the positioning of buttons can be easily managed. We bought it in Dec 2010 for around INR 16000 for 6.5 kg capacity. So there is a good chance that upgrade and better models are available now. Trust this helps everyone. And thank you all so much for your patience with the delay. Have a good day. In India, there is a manufacturer in Dehradun but they only sell in bulk with minimum 5 pieces for each game. The quality is okay okay. Games like Ludo, Snakes and Ladders, playing cards and Chess can be sourced. I have a few games but I got them from other countries because of lack of single piece availability and good quality. Re: [AI] accessible washing machine & TV
HI Srinivasu, Its a top loading fully automatic washing machine. I would have to check the model number at home and send it to you in the evening. And yes, it announces the options and lets the user select and then start the process or mode of wash. Would get back with the model number. Hi Maruti, Model number I would share in evening. As for the price, well we bought it around 6-7 years back so the today's prices would be totally different from then. There is a top loading fully automatic washing machine model by LG which has a speech feature inbuilt. It can be turned on and off as well. Once turned on it speaks every step or action you take with the machine settings. We have it at our home and my father uses it with complete ease. It speaks out all the commands and functions and no sighted assistance is required at all. The only glitch is the buttons are kind of touch(not completely touch, a bit of it is embossed) which can easily be adapted to usage by putting braille stickers on each function button. [AI] Hello from Planet Abled - Your accessible travel newsletter
Hello Everyone, Trust this mail finds you in the best of your spirits. This is a special newsletter for us, as we complete the first two and a half years of our journey of barrier free tourism in India. We have come some distance and it is still a long way to go to make travel accessible for all. Through this newsletter we want to bring to you not just the travel stories and memorable experiences of people travelling with us but also make you aware about important information which would be useful for you to plan your travels. And we understand that all of you are busy on your life’s treadmill, so we would keep it short and sweet all the time. *Good to know information for today:* If you are a person with disability and have travelled by air, you must have faced some not so good flying experiences sometime in your travel. Getting a suitable assistance code on your ticket while booking might save you some of the hassle of flying and make the airline prepared to assist you. These codes are called AIRIMP codes standardized internationally. Please find them below – - WCHR - Wheelchair-R for ramp (passenger can ascend/descend steps and walk to the seat) - WCHS - Wheelchair-S for steps (passenger unable to ascend/descend steps but able to walk to the seat) - WCHC - Wheelchair-C for cabin seat (passenger completely immobile) - STCR - Stretcher passenger - BLND - Blind passenger (specify if accompanied by seeing-eye dog) - DEAF - Deaf passenger - MEDA - Medical Case (Medical clearance required) - OXYG - Needing oxygen during flight - LEGL - Left Leg-in cast - LEGR - Right leg-in cast - LEGB - Both Legs in cast Please note that for some airlines in some countries they might have “special assist” generic codes for some cases. So please check with them while booking. Also, some of you or your friends might have been denied boarding on some aircraft that is because wheel chair service is limited or not provided on small planes like ATR/CR7 because of space constraints. We hope this makes your next air travel comfortable and smooth. *Travel Story on the blog:* Read the homecoming experience of Latifa of travelling to India for the first time here <http://click.mlsend.com/link/c/YT05MjM2OTU2NTQyODk1NDM0OTMmYz12OHYzJmU9Mzc1ODc1NDUmYj0xODU2NTMwOTQmZD1pNXUwbDdl.74sFFUuKO105JKO-glZg0H80yP-uyOvnq7KNGAwvcCg> . *What are we planning next:* Though we are busy doing customized trips across India, we have come up with a specialised senior citizen group tour to Kerala in November. Click here <http://click.mlsend.com/link/c/YT05MjM2OTU2NTQyODk1NDM0OTMmYz12OHYzJmU9Mzc1ODc1NDUmYj0xODU2NTMwOTYmZD1zNHkyYzl1.0OCqJVmff9LMc3Bnx8a8G5a5gB9HmzNFHD4j9dqrcEU> to register and send your parents or loved ones to that much awaited holiday now. We end the newsletter with the beautiful words of Latifa to inspire you to travel – *My time in India showed me what can happen when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, and let our common humanity take over.* P.S. – Please ask your friends and family to subscribe to our newsletter so that relevant accessible travel information reaches as many people as possible. Tausif I can very well relate to your experience. All my life have fought for such things for my parents, as we were often denied having such experiences, as they happen to have disabilities. Finding no solution to this and having repeated not so good travel experiences forced me to start Planet Abled few years back. Ignorance and lack of awareness of people shouldn't come in our way of our travelling. Since the start we have now done, rafting skiing, trekking, boating and what not. We even take people with spinal injuries on our rafting and boating expeditions. Next time when you or any one else from our community wants to travel, I would be more than happy to assist and break those barriers with you. You can reach me at +9910042281. Cheers. [AI] Barrier free Accessible Skiing Adventure with Planet Abled
Hello wonderful people, Greetings from the Planet Abled family. We are here with the biggest news of the day, no the month, no maybe the whole year. First time in India, Planet Abled presents you barrier free skiing. This March break all barriers and join us skiing on the snow slopes in Gulmarg. The ski slopes here have developed in the past few years as the most sought-after skiing slopes in India and this year they are welcoming us with open arms for this barrier free adventure. This inclusive 6 days skiing expedition is open for people with visual impairment, hearing and speech impairment and amputees in certain cases. And since we have a non-discrimination policy for people without disabilities, so they are also welcome to join in. Open for solo travellers, friends, families and colleagues, everyone is invited for this epic adventure. And to add to it there is no age restriction. Children as small as 4 year old and adults looking for an active adventure are welcome. Rather the children pick up much faster. So if you are a couple with disabilities with small children, this is one dream active holiday for you. Or if you have children with disabilities, why not take them on an adventure of a lifetime and develop a sporting skill. Even if you are not into adventure, while your friends and family pick up skiing skills, you can sit on top on slopes and sip you kawah or take the Gondola up to 13,132 feet (3,979 meters). There's more than one way to enjoy Gulmarg! The skiing group would be led by an expert skier who has been a national champion having represented India in international competitions. So don’t wait to be part of this epic and historic trip which would really change the definition of adventure in India. The adventure starts 12th March 2018. [AI] Life is a marathon so why not participate in one in 2017
Hello, Greetings for the day. Trust this mail finds you in the best of your spirits. Life is a Marathon, not a sprint and so is Planet Abled. We started our marathon of social inclusion of people with disabilities through accessible travel. Now, we want you to join us !! Yes, you heard it right. Planet Abled has taken another leap and joined ADHM as supporters for Champions with Disability category. This year we want you to break all barriers a nd inhibitions and run along with us at the world's most prestigious marathon, the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2017. The journey of the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon started in 2005 and has now achieved the IAAF Gold Label making it one of the most respected marathons in the world. This year its the 10th edition and Planet Abled has taken the challenge to break all thresholds of participation of people with disabilities and take it to next level. But we can't do it ourselves, we need your support to participate and spread the information to as many people and organizations as you can. So that we all can run the marathon together . If you can't run, walk with us, if you can't walk roll their wheelchair to join us, but we won't take an excuse. There will be days, where you don't know if you can participate in a *marathon*, there will be a *lifetime* knowing that you have !! We encourage all of you to participate in as high numbers as possible. Its still one and a half months to go, so you can start preparing. Individual registration is through the link below for which the last date date of registration is 13th October. https://adhm.procamrunning.in/race-categories/champions-with-disability/info For group and institutional registrations, we would facilitate the whole process. Once we have a count of number of participants, I would send the registration forms at your office/their respective offices and the procedure can be completed. The fee per participant is INR 250. The payment can be made via a draft or bank transfer. The volunteers accompanying to assist a participant can register free of cost. But registration is mandatory. You can mail us directly with the number of participants at *marat...@planetabled.com * *Request you to please forward this mail to your partner organizations as well and lets get as many people participate as possible this year. * We really don't need to mention that this is an inclusive marathon and anyone above the age of 12 years with any sort of disability is most welcome to participate. Let Delhi watch Champions with Disability participation break all records this year. We look forward to your support and maximum registration. A poster is also attached herewith for your reference. Have a good week ahead. P.S. - The website is not completely accessible for visually impaired. We are working towards making it accessible. Till then please ask your friends and family to do it on your behalf. Re: [AI] Planet Abled Accessible Triund Trek, 30th September to 2nd October, 2017
Hi Shireen, Thanks for your email. This is a basic registration form which is a standard process to automatically share all the detailed itinerary and cost details by the system with you. Since its a multiple disability travellers event, we really have to understand our patron and their assistive needs. This form is for that purpose. This is an effort on our end to avoid people's mailboxes getting overflown with unnecessary information. Nevertheless, since you are interested, we have emailed the details to you, Mohit and Sanjeev. Trust you have received it. Do let us know if you have further queries. Have a good weekend. [AI] Experience Art with Planet Abled's Unique Accessible Tour to India Art Fair

Hello Vamshi & Payal, Trust you are doing well. Thanks a lot Payal for such heart warming words, they mean a lot. We have been doing customized individual tours in south India but yes, no group scheduled departure as yet. The last year was very overwhelming and we would soon add more and more destinations and unique experiences this year too. Just a thought, you already live in South India, you should rather travel more to North India to explore http://www.facebook.com/planetabled> | Twitter <http://www.twitter.com/planetabled> Youtube <https://goo.gl/yCCmHb> | Tripadviso <https://www.tripadvisor.in/Attraction_Review-g304551-d10325921-Reviews-Planet_Abled-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#REVIEWS> r <https://www.tripadvisor.in/Attraction_Review-g304551-d10325921-Reviews-Planet_Abled-New_Delhi_National_Capital_Territory_of_Delhi.html#REVIEWS> For Photo Albums - Flickr <https://www.flickr.com/photos/planetabled/> www.planetabled.com (working on web accessibility for blind so not updated) # Our first Birthday Video - Planet Abled turns one <https://youtu.be/8Hmb52-Gwjs> # Check out the amazing Rafting Tour video here <https://youtu.be/USBmihdG4tc>. # Planet Abled has been awarded the NCPEDP - Mphasis Universal Design Award for the year 2016 # Long listed for the World Responsible Tourism Awards 2016 held in London # Finalist of the World Responsible Tourism Awards India Edition 2016 (selection process ongoing, awards to happen in Jan 2017) On Tue, Jan 3, 2017 at 9:57 PM, Payal Kapoor wrote: > i did suggest that too. make South a destination in the near future, Neha. > kudos to all you've achieved and cheers to many more feathers in that > ever expanding cap. > payal > > On 1/3/17, Vamshi. [AI] Happy Travelling 2017 from Planet Abled
Hello Traveller, A year ago today we started a unique journey called Planet Abled, to make travel accessible for all. And the Planet welcomed us with open arms. They were just waiting to meet each other, to explore the heritage, to have fun, to own the places, to make new friends and reclaim their right to travel. In the past one year we were fortunate to have been able to provide so many unique experiences to over a 100 people with disabilities and create history with each tour with them. We thank all of you to have contributed to our remarkable first year of accessible and inclusive travel and showering us with so much love; and a heartfelt gratitude for trusting us with your travel and holidays. We wouldn’t have been here, without your support. Let’s celebrate a wonderful 2016 that was. And wish you a Trippy and Travelling 2017. May you add many more experiences and cultures and destinations and adventures and friends in your bouquet of life. And break all stigmas and barriers in the face. Our Planet is our common inheritance and Everything is For Everyone. Let’s conquer it as much as we can in 2017 and every year onward. Warmest travelling wishes from our family to yours. Re: [AI] Private Limited Company formation
Hi Sid, The two types of companies that exist are Private Limited Company and a Section 8 company. A private limited company is a for profit entity while section 8 is a non profit entity. Depending upon the nature of your prospective business, one should decide which one they choose. Both require a minimum of two directors. Though there is a new option being introduced for a private limited company which can be opted if there is only one director. Its called OPC Private Limited company i.e One Person Company. The name of company would then go like - XYZ OPC Private Limited. Though for all branding purposes you can conveniently omit the OPC word and just use XYZ Private Limited. LLP, like others mentioned is in between a registered company (private limited or section 8) and a registered partnership firm. The legal compliance and book maintaining etc is a bit less complicated in case of a LLP than for a Private Limited or a Section 8 company. There are a lot of factors which identify which kind of incorporation is appropriate for you like your scalability, business model, future plans and kind of service/product being offered. All of this has got nothing to do with a the applicant being visually impaired. Hope this helps you decide. Then from cycles to the development of motorized two wheeler to vintage automobiles this museum has it all. Even the spare parts of those historic times are on display along with a vintage petrol pump!! And it does not stop here, from rural transport mechanisms that existed centuries back to an exclusive display of evolution of indian aircraft and marine transport vehicles, they are all on display. Suspended in mid-air in the gallery is a restored 1940s Piper J3C Cub aircraft, in its signature chrome yellow. Oh did we miss out on the railways, one of the very first luxury coaches of Palace on Wheels is also waiting for you. And the trucks and vans and buses of the older times, some used by world renowned artists as their painting canvas Want to know how were the ticket vending machines in those times and how the tickets looked like? Well you can see it here. To make it more fun they also have an inventory of collectible handmade and die cast toys made in india in the past centuries to pedal cars and cycles. Four complete floors of mesmerizing collection of these exciting stuff and an art gallery as an icing on the cake. To top it all, we have got special permissions for our blind travellers to touch and experience it all. Also the tour would be guided by a transport expert to tell you all the wonderful stories of evolution of these transport mechanisms.
