 Dinesh,
In NVDA Synthesizer dialog, you can choose the desired Output Device.
The default setting which I've never changed from the beginning is
Microsoft Sound Mapper which always has worked. I tried switching to
Speakers headphones, and also Headphones RDC, but neither restored
the audio system to how it worked before. This issue persists with
both NVDA JAWS, and Electronic Piano (a piano application).
 Thanks.

It may happen due to a mismatch of the two jacks.
Sometimes, the pin which is inserted in the jack happens to be
 stereophonic.
And the the hardware does not support it. Sometimes, the port is
 incompatible with the headphone jack.
One other reason may be that proper drivers for the related hardware
 are not installed.
In this case, all other audio files are audible but the speech
synthesizers follow a strict discipline regarding display/audio
hardware, these voices remain in conflict with the unauthorized

 Dear all,
A while ago, my speakers stopped functioning, in which I did
investigate quite a bit, but to no avail. So, I let the speakers remain.
Now, I am encountering another audio-related issue.
I use Logitech headphones, which when I plug fully, that is when the
wire is fully inserted into the corresponding port, does not give
audio output from my screen readers (both NVDA JAWS) and another
audio producing electronic piano application, however, does give
audio output from a song being played in VLC Media Player.
When I half plug the headphones, that is part of the headphone wire
is in the jack, and part is out, I get full audio output from everywhere.
Preferably, and normally, the headphone should be fully plugged in,
to recieve complete audio output, but in my case, it isn't so.
Do you all have any suggestions?
This has happened just now suddenly, and I'm unsure of whats
happening with the audio in my laptop. I'll be sending it for
servicing after my exams get over, which are till 20th March, for
which I'll be using this computer to study.

Dear babya, there is no longer need to install the extra headphone driver.
Once you install the audio driver, the hardware associated with this driver
such as headset, microphone, etc will automatically be installed. So your
job will be to remover the audio driver, and re-install again!

Dinesh,
In NVDA Synthesizer dialog, you can choose the desired Output Device.

One other reason may be that proper drivers for the related hardware are
 not
 installed.
In this case, all other audio files are audible but the speech synthesizers
follow a strict discipline regarding display/audio hardware, these voices
remain in conflict with the unauthorized hardware driver.

 Dear all,
A while ago, my speakers stopped functioning, in which I did investigate
quite a bit, but to no avail. So, I let the speakers remain.
Now, I am encountering another audio-related issue.
I use Logitech headphones, which when I plug fully, that is when the wire
 is
fully inserted into the corresponding port, does not give audio output from
my screen readers (both NVDA JAWS) and another audio producing electronic
piano application, however, does give audio output from a song being played
 in VLC Media Player.
When I half plug the headphones, that is part of the headphone wire is in
the jack, and part is out, I get full audio output from everywhere.
Preferably, and normally, the headphone should be fully plugged in, to
recieve complete audio output, but in my case, it isn't so.
Do you all have any suggestions?
This has happened just now suddenly, and I'm unsure of whats happening with
the audio in my laptop. I'll be sending it for servicing after my exams get
over, which are till 20th March, for which I'll be using this computer to
 study.
Half plugged headphones are totally usable, but strange.
Thansks, and hope I was somewhat clear.
 I would appreciate any assistance.

HI,
I had looked into installing audio-related drivers of my laptop before
as well, when I had other audio-related issues. I doubt any change
from then. Furthermore, I don't have the drivers CD that came with my
laptop either.
