Re: [AI] Suggestions needed for Laptops, Windows XP or Windows 7?

2010-07-14 Thread jayinfotech
WinXP is better as of now , win7 has issues like, Outlook express will not
work, Windows live mail is bit difficult. WINXP support may be extended.
Atleast Keep Computer in dual boot ( WinXP + Win7) for sometimes till one
master Win7 properly.

Bye, God bless
Amit

2010-07-14 Thread Srinivasu Chakravarthula
Hi,

Apologies, have not followed complete thread. But if someone is
investing, it's certainly worth investing on Windows 7 and not on XP.
It is much better both from features and accessibility prospective. It
may take a while to getting familiar with interface but none other
issues.

2010-07-13 Thread Amit Bhatt

dear bhavesh,

If you looking for a user friendly Laptop with good accessibility, I would
personally advise you lenovo 5903-2586.
I have recently bought the same model and much happy with it's performance.
The sound quality is also fantastic.

As far as OS is concern, Windows 7 and XP, both are good. I am personally
using XP as off now.

From the technical points of view, I suggest windows 7 since microsoft
is going to stop support for XP sooner or later. It means that you
will not get latest updates and buck fixes. So, I suggest that you go
for Windows 7 and as Amit pointed out, it works fine with JAWS and
Windows eyes.

Re: [AI] Suggestions needed for Laptops, Windows XP or Windows 7?

2010-07-13 Thread Amiyo Biswas

Hello,

I also suggest Lenovo. I myself purchased Dell Vostro 1015. It's good for
the keyboard. I was too much concerned about the keyboard. I did not check
the sound. But for my laptop I have to use a headphone. Its sound is lower
than a mobile. I advise you not to pay heed to the vendor. Check it
yourself.

I also chose Lenovo for its keyboard first. I did not check its sound. But
the Lenovo keyboard was quite good.

Best regards,

I too vote for Windows 7. Even its own in-built Narrator has been
improved. In addition to commercial screen readers, it works very well
with free screen reader NVDA too.
