Hi Dean,

Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately, we do not provide support for 3rd party software integration in
the API. If you would like to know whether it's possible to integrate other
products to your Google Ads account via the UI, you may reach out to the
Advertiser's Community Forum and open your concern to the product owners as
they may be able to provide insights on this.

RE: OfflineConversionError.INVALID_CONVERSION_TYPE

2019-08-15 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Mahmoud,

Thank you for sharing your logs, however, I had to edit your initial post as it
contained private information of your account. You may check out our forum
posting guidelines for future posts.

Moving forward to your issue, you can refer to the the INVALID_CONVERSION_TYPE
documentation to learn more about its causes. To narrow down the cause of the
error, could you confirm if you have set up cross-account conversion tracking?

I asked because upon checking the SOAP logs you included, I could see that you
used a MCC account in your request header. If you have indeed completed the set
up for cross-account conversion tracking, then using your MCC as the
clientCustomerId and your MCC's OAuth2 credentials should be correct and your
request should be successful.

That being said, if you have not completed the set up, could you identify which
account the "scp" conversion belongs to? You can use the
ConversionTrackerService.get() for each of your client accounts to do so. Once
you have done so, you may retry your request using that account's ID as the
clientCustomerId and use OAuth2 credentials which has access to that account.
Let me know if this works.

Should the issue persist, you may send to me privately, using the Reply
privately to author option, the updated SOAP request and response logs so I can
further investigate.

Thanks and regards,
Peter

User lists in test accounts

2019-08-15 Thread 'Chuck Dusseau' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello Support,

I have a client who would is setting up a Test Account and would like to
set up User Lists on this test account.
Here is a snippet of our email conversation:

"I went ahead and created a new Google account with a new test account and
created an account within it with some campaigns based on production, and
created a userlist to attach.

Unfortunately I’m hitting the same issues we have with the existing test
account – user lists on the MCC cannot be added to campaigns within the
child account.

I’m at a loss for what to do next. I’m reluctant to run our tool against
our production account without testing it first, but at the moment I don’t
see a way to get our test account setup correctly."

Re: OPERATOR_NOT_SUPPORTED when I trying to remove video id from adgroup (UniversalAppAd)

2019-08-15 Thread 'Игорь Тирский' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Yes. I try to remove the video (or mediaId) from the campaign (but after
changing API I can't remove mediaId from

youtubeVideoMediaIds

list

I do not want to replace the video, I want to remove video from UAC campaign

My UAC campaign has this structure:

# 'id': 1693x,
# 'campaignGroupId': None,
# 'name': 'name',
# 'status': None,
# 'servingStatus': None,
# 'startDate': None,
# 'endDate': None,
# 'budget': None,
# 'conversionOptimizerEligibility': None,
# 'adServingOptimizationStatus': None,
# 'frequencyCap': None,
# 'settings': [
# {
# 'Setting.Type': 'GeoTargetTypeSetting',
# 'positiveGeoTargetType': 'DONT_CARE',
# 'negativeGeoTargetType': 'DONT_CARE'
# },
# {
# 'Setting.Type': 'UniversalAppCampaignSetting',
# 'appId': 'x',
# 'appVendor': '',
# 'description1': '',
# 'description2': '',
# 'description3': '',
# 'description4': '',
# 'youtubeVideoMediaIds': [123,123,456],

And I want to remove 123, for example.

But I rewrote code with AdService.mutate()

operations = [{
'operator': 'SET',
'operand': {
'id': 1234,#ad_id,
'xsi_type': 'UniversalAppAd',
'videos': [
{
'asset': {
'xsi_type': 'YouTubeVideoAsset',
'youTubeVideoId': 'Lvhv6',
'assetId': 123
},
},
],
},
}]

ad_service = client.GetService('AdService', version='v201809')
ad_service.mutate(operations)

And it required headlines and descriptions I added it:

*googleads.errors.GoogleAdsServerFault: [CollectionSizeError.TOO_FEW @
operations[0].operand.headlines, CollectionSizeError.TOO_FEW @
operations[0].operand.descriptions]*

Then I added headlines and descriptions:

'headlines': [{
"asset": {
"xsi_type": "TextAsset",
"assetId": 123,
"assetSubtype": "TEXT",
"Asset.Type": "TextAsset",
"assetText": ""
}}],
'descriptions': [{
"asset": {
"xsi_type": "TextAsset",
"assetId": 123,
"assetSubtype": "TEXT",
"Asset.Type": "TextAsset",
"assetText": ""
}}],

But after adding I've got this error

*googleads.errors.GoogleAdsServerFault: [CollectionSizeError.TOO_FEW @
operations[0].operand.headlines, CollectionSizeError.TOO_FEW @
operations[0].operand.descriptions]*

What I need to do, that to remove a video (mediaId) from UAC Campaign.
Thanks!

The new discovery campaigns have an empty AdvertisingChannelType

2019-08-15 Thread Alexander
According to
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/campaign-performance-report#advertisingchanneltype
the AdvertisingChannelType has one of following values:
Unknown,
Search,
Display,
Shopping,
Video,
Multi Channel.

But the new discovery campaigns have an empty string instead of one of
these values. This is unexpected and causes problems for us. Wouldn't it be
better to report Unknown instead? But even if you report something new,
wouldn't it be better to report "Discovery" instead of an empty string?

We're developing a SAAS solution for Adwords and have setup both Production

We do not have a Merchant Center account and there doesn't seem to be any
documentation on Merchant Center test accounts.
All answers we can find simply states "connect your Merchant Center
account", but playing around with a live MCA is not favorable

Please advise

Phone number in ad text in ExpandedTextAd

2019-08-15 Thread David Kostern
Hi,

I just started with Google Ads API (currently using testing account) and I
upload product campaigns and to each product I add it's manufacturer number
(for example 530398800) to headings and descriptions. But this number is
always marked with error "PROHIBITED : Phone number in ad text".
Main problem is that it's not even uploaded to Google Ads so I can't start
review of this ad.

How can I upload this ad via API? How can I start review of this ad if it's
not even uploaded to Google Ads?

Thanks!

TargetingIdeaService not returning statistics for some keywords

Hello,

We have noticed that the TargetingIdeaService doesn't return results for
some keywords, for example for a set of 13,607 keywords we don't get
results for 3,304 of them. I reduced the request to a single keyword
("estee lauder") that doesn't return results from the API, but that does
return in the UI Keyword Planner.

I can send the SOAP requests if needed.

cannot create shopping ProductGroup tree in one batch. Getting LISTING_GROUP_SUBDIVISION_REQUIRES_OTHERS_CASE error

2019-08-15 Thread Inilien Inilien
I am using Python google-ads module and Google Ads API v2 (Beta)
In my test account's shopping campaign I am trying to create 3
ProductGroups in an empty AdGroup.
I can successfully create single root level AdGroupCriterion with
listing_group type: UNIT but when I am trying to create 3
AdGroupCriterions: 1 root and 2 children I am getting errors.
Here are my AdGroupCriterionOperation protobuf messages:

[create {
   resource_name: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-25"
   status: PAUSED
   ad_group {
 value: "customers/5936312994/adGroups/82410873572"
   }
   listing_group {
 type: SUBDIVISION
   }
 }, create {
   resource_name: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-27"
   status: ENABLED
   ad_group {
 value: "customers/5936312994/adGroups/82410873572"
   }
   negative {
 value: true
   }
   listing_group {
 type: UNIT
 case_value {
   listing_custom_attribute {
 index: INDEX0
   }
 }
 parent_ad_group_criterion {
   value: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-25"
 }
   }
 }, create {
   resource_name: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-26"
   status: ENABLED
   ad_group {
 value: "customers/5936312994/adGroups/82410873572"
   }
   cpc_bid_micros {
 value: 1000
   }
   listing_group {
 type: UNIT
 case_value {
   listing_custom_attribute {
 value {
   value: "1000-2000"
 }
 index: INDEX0
   }
 }
 parent_ad_group_criterion {
   value: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-25"
 }
   }
 }]

Essentially I got them from my production account.
When I am trying to call mutate method of AdGroupCriterionService I am
getting these errors (one per operation):

errors {
  error_code {
ad_group_criterion_error: LISTING_GROUP_SUBDIVISION_REQUIRES_OTHERS_CASE
  }

hasPromotedSuggestion=null}"
  }
}
errors {
  error_code {
ad_group_criterion_error: LISTING_GROUP_DOES_NOT_EXIST
  }
  message: "Listing group referenced in the operation was not found in the
ad group."
  trigger {
string_value: "TempCriterionId{id=25}"
  }
  location {
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "operations"
  index {
  }
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "create"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "listing_group"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "parent_ad_group_criterion"
}
  }
}
errors {
  error_code {
ad_group_criterion_error: LISTING_GROUP_DOES_NOT_EXIST
  }
  message: "Listing group referenced in the operation was not found in the
ad group."
  trigger {
string_value: "TempCriterionId{id=25}"
  }
  location {
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "operations"
  index {
value: 1
  }
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "create"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "listing_group"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "parent_ad_group_criterion"
}
  }
}

I am assuming that if root level operation were to succeed then both
children would succeed as well. But I cannot figure out how to solve the
LISTING_GROUP_SUBDIVISION_REQUIRES_OTHERS_CASE error.

I would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.

Issue trying to create new ad group

2019-08-15 Thread Fernando Oliveira
Hi guys,

We are trying to do some integrations on Google Ads API using one of your
ruby gems. We can already retrieve some data but can’t create things. I
would like to know if you can provide us some help.

I am using this gem: https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-ruby
And trying to follow this example:
https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-ruby/blob/master/examples/basic_operations/add_ad_groups.rb

This is how my code loooks like:

```ruby
# This seems to be properly configured since we can get data from google
ads api
client ||= Google::Ads::GoogleAds::GoogleAdsClient.new do |config|
  config.client_id= ENV['ADS_CLIENT_ID']
  config.client_secret = ENV['ADS_CLIENT_SECRET']
  config.refresh_token   = ENV['ADS_REFRESH_TOKEN']
  config.developer_token   = ENV['ADS_DEVELOPER_TOKEN']
  config.login_customer_id = ENV['ADS_LOGIN_CUSTOMER_ID'] # manager user
customer_id
end
customer_id = '123123123' # not real
campaign_id = '123123123' # not real
ad_group = client.resource.ad_group do |ag|
  ag.name   = "Test #{(Time.new.to_f * 1000).to_i}"
  ag.status = :ENABLED
  ag.campaign   = client.path.campaign(customer_id, campaign_id) # this
generates "customers/123123123/campaigns/123123123"
  ag.type   = :SEARCH_STANDARD
  ag.cpc_bid_micros = 10_000
end
# Create the operation
ad_group_operation = client.operation.create_resource.ad_group(ad_group)
# Add the ad group.
response = client.service.ad_group.mutate_ad_groups(
customer_id, [ad_group_operation])
puts "Created ad group #{response.results.first.resource_name}."
```

But I always receive this Exception:

Error: 'GaxError RPC failed, caused by 3:Request contains an invalid
argument.'
Cause: '3:Request contains an invalid argument.'
Code: 3
Details: 'Request contains an invalid argument.'
Request-Id: 'CNtDjMgD6_rAVFBvabbImg'

I've tryed a lot of changes but could not figure out what is wrong.
The above messages are really generic and did not give me much information
about the error.

This is the data as we are sending:

cannot create shopping product groups tree in one batch

2019-08-15 Thread Inilien Inilien
I am using Python google-ads library for Google Ads API v2 (Beta)
Using test account I am trying to create 3 product Groups in an empty
AdGroup.
I have been able to successfully create root single ProductGroup with type
`UNIT` but cannot create `SUBDIVISION` ones.
Here are my AdGroupCriterionOperation protobuf messages:

[create {
   resource_name: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-25"
   status: PAUSED
   ad_group {
 value: "customers/5936312994/adGroups/82410873572"
   }
   listing_group {
 type: SUBDIVISION
   }
 }, create {
   resource_name: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-27"
   status: ENABLED
   ad_group {
 value: "customers/5936312994/adGroups/82410873572"
   }
   negative {
 value: true
   }
   listing_group {
 type: UNIT
 case_value {
   listing_custom_attribute {
 index: INDEX0
   }
 }
 parent_ad_group_criterion {
   value: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-25"
 }
   }
 }, create {
   resource_name: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-26"
   status: ENABLED
   ad_group {
 value: "customers/5936312994/adGroups/82410873572"
   }
   cpc_bid_micros {
 value: 1000
   }
   listing_group {
 type: UNIT
 case_value {
   listing_custom_attribute {
 value {
   value: "1000-2000"
 }
 index: INDEX0
   }
 }
 parent_ad_group_criterion {
   value: "customers/5936312994/adGroupCriteria/82410873572~-25"
 }
   }
 }]

When I am trying to call mutate method of AdGroupCriterionService I am
getting 3 errors (one for each of the operations above).
for the root operation I am getting
`LISTING_GROUP_SUBDIVISION_REQUIRES_OTHERS_CASE` and for both children I am
getting: `LISTING_GROUP_DOES_NOT_EXIST`
Here are the exact messages:

errors {
  error_code {
ad_group_criterion_error: LISTING_GROUP_SUBDIVISION_REQUIRES_OTHERS_CASE
  }
  message: "Subdivided listing groups must have an \"others\" case."
  trigger {
string_value: "ProductPartition{id=TempCriterionId{id=25},
bidSimulatorStatus=null, partitionType=SUBDIVISION, parentCriterionId=null,
productGroup=null, productGroupObsoleteStatus=null, caseValue=null,
decisionPath=[], salesCountry=null, merchantId=null,
hasPromotedSuggestion=null}"
  }
}
errors {
  error_code {
ad_group_criterion_error: LISTING_GROUP_DOES_NOT_EXIST
  }
  message: "Listing group referenced in the operation was not found in the
ad group."
  trigger {
string_value: "TempCriterionId{id=25}"
  }
  location {
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "operations"
  index {
  }
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "create"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "listing_group"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "parent_ad_group_criterion"
}
  }
}
errors {
  error_code {
ad_group_criterion_error: LISTING_GROUP_DOES_NOT_EXIST
  }
  message: "Listing group referenced in the operation was not found in the
ad group."
  trigger {
string_value: "TempCriterionId{id=25}"
  }
  location {
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "operations"
  index {
value: 1
  }
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "create"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "listing_group"
}
field_path_elements {
  field_name: "parent_ad_group_criterion"
}
  }
}

I am assuming that if the root AdGroupCriterion was successful then both
children criterions would be created as well. But I cannot figure out how
to change my operation in order to create the root AdGroupCriterion with
`SUBDIVISION` listing_group type.
The messages I am trying to create in my testing account are the exact
copies from the production account.
And I didn't find any differences concerning listing_group logic in Java
example of creation several ProductGroups at once

 from
the API docs.

Hi,

My apologies for the confusion. I can see that you wish to remove the video
itself from the ad. Could you, instead, try replacing the video instead of
removing it using the AdService.mutate()?

Re: Data mismatch between criteria and gender report types

2019-08-15 Thread 'Damir Murzagulov' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi, thanks for the quick reply.
Sorry but I am a little bit confused

As you have observed, the report appears to have not selected the Gender
> criteria as the type to return in the results.
>
 But in my criteria report request, I've put a clause CriteriaType=GENDER
and actually in response I see data breakdown by gender but the metric is
zero.

Piece of response
Gender,Undetermined,0
Gender,Female,0
Gender,Male,0
Gender,Male,0
Gender,Female,0
Gender,Female,0
Gender,Female,0
Gender,Male,0
Gender,Female,0
Gender,Undetermined,0
Gender,Female,0
Gender,Male,0
Total, --,0

Can you confirm that such data is correct? Seems that I misunderstood
single attribution properties.
Also what would be if I include in clause all types of criteria? is the
total value of clicks for an account in such case will match with the total
value from another report type?
