Re: AuthorizationError.ACCESS_DENIED_FOR_ACCOUNT_TYPE on ManagedCustomerService

2020-06-19 Thread Stefano Fontana

Hi,

I'm also getting this error when I try to build the tree of the Google Ads
accounts I have access to.
>From the logs I can tell that for some reason the customerService
(https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201809/CustomerService#getCustomers)

is trying to get access to Search Ads 360 accounts (I manage accounts in
both Google Ads and Search Ads 360).
The logs clearly show the name of accounts that exist only in my Search Ads
360 account.

This basically breaks every application I have that relies on building the
account tree.

Hi,

Our AdWords Support Contact is looking into the issue.
He said that it was deactivated manually by one of our account managers
which I find very unlikely (yet possible), unfortunately there is no
history for this kind of actions.
Also we cannot set it back to active ourselves and are waiting for our
adwords contact to find a solution.

Will share future progress here if no solution is given.

Thanks for you answer Milind, however in my previous message I specified
that the MCC contains an account that is actively delivering ads so there
clearly something wrong.

Re: AuthorizationError.CUSTOMER_NOT_ACTIVE

2018-05-31 Thread Stefano Fontana
Same here,

We get AuthorizationError.CUSTOMER_NOT_ACTIVE when trying to access a
specific MCC via the API.
This MCC contains 3 accounts, 2 are "paused" and another the other one is
running (getting impressions/clicks).
The error appeared for the first time around 20 hours ago (for us).

Also when invoking the CustomerService

service = client.GetService('ManagedCustomerService') // client is
instantiated using our top mcc
selector = {
'fields': [
'CustomerId',
'Name',
'CanManageClients',
'AccountLabels',
],
 }
 data = service.get(selector)

we get
, (ManagedCustomerLink){
  managerCustomerId = 1569104593
  clientCustomerId = 4290407727
  isHidden = False
}, (ManagedCustomerLink){
  managerCustomerId = 1569104593
  clientCustomerId = 767954
  isHidden = False
}, (ManagedCustomerLink){
  managerCustomerId = 1569104593
  clientCustomerId = 2268933076
  isHidden = False
},
the problem is that there is no

{
managerCustomerId= THEPARENTMCC
clientCustomerId = 1569104593
}

also when trying to access 1569104593 directly we get the error "
AuthorizationError.CUSTOMER_NOT_ACTIVE"

Please take a look at this.

2018-03-21 Thread Stefano Fontana
Thanks for the answer Milind.

I have one last question that is: after the account is canceled and
reactivated will be automatically canceled again? and if yes after how many
days/months?
Unlike the my first question that is answer by literally the first point in
the blog post I believe there is no answer to this last question :)

Cheers

Accessing inactive AdWords Accounts

2018-03-20 Thread Stefano Fontana
Context:
http://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.ch/2018/03/changes-to-inactive-adwords-accounts.html

I understand that the policy will be enforced starting from March 26.
However I still have a couple of questions regarding this matter:

1) I don't see any field indicating the account status here
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/selectorfields#v201802-ManagedCustomerService

 Will this service keep returning inactive accounts?
 If yes, does this mean that the only way to find whether an account is
inactive is by trying to access it (and fail)?
 Would be nice to know in advance whether a given account is inactive
or having the possibility of excluding in a predicate.

2) Is historical data lost when an account is deactivated? If I activate it
again will I be able to fetch the same data via the API?

Thanks in advance.

Cannot upload media bundle using API

2017-12-13 Thread Stefano Fontana
Hi,

I have an issue with the API.
Since yesterday I'm no longer able to upload media bundles.
It's easily reproducible by executing the example
on
https://github.com/googleads/googleads-python-lib/blob/master/examples/adwords/v201710/misc/upload_media_bundle.py
the error I get is "[OperationAccessDenied.ACTION_NOT_PERMITTED @ class
com.google.ads.api.serviceimpls.campaignmgmt.media.UploadAction]" (attached
you can find the complete log).
Yes, the refresh token I'm using is the correct one, I can successfully
execute all the other examples of that repo.
Also (always since yesterday) when uploading *the same* bundle with a bulk
job I get this error:

"OrderedDict([('@xmlns:xsi', 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance'),
('@xsi:type', 'MediaBundleError'), ('fieldPath',
'operations[1].operand.ad.templateElements[0].fields[0].fieldMedia.data'),
('fieldPathElements', [OrderedDict([('field', 'operations'), ('index',
'1')]), OrderedDict([('field', 'operand')]), OrderedDict([('field',
'ad')]), OrderedDict([('field', 'templateElements'), ('index', '0')]),
OrderedDict([('field', 'fields'), ('index', '0')]), OrderedDict([('field',
'fieldMedia')]), OrderedDict([('field', 'data')])]), ('trigger', None),
('errorString', 'MediaBundleError.INVALID_MEDIA_BUNDLE'), ('ApiError.Type',
'MediaBundleError'), ('reason', 'INVALID_MEDIA_BUNDLE')])"

What is the reason of this sudden change of behaviour?

Cheers

Re: Ad description: AdError.LINE_TOO_WIDE

2017-11-24 Thread Stefano Fontana
Hello,

Based on our experiements the length of the COUNTDOWN(.) function seems
to be 8.
However I couldn't find any official documentation stating that this is the
length.
Could you confirm whether 8 characters is always the calculated space (no
matter the language being used)?

Thanks

Please note that the type returned by the Report Definition service is also
"double" and not "micros". That should also be changed.

AverageCpv and AverageCpe returned as Micro instead of double

2017-09-29 Thread Stefano Fontana
Hello

AverageCpv and AverageCpe are returned in "micro" instead of double as
stated in the documentation:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/campaign-performance-report#averagecpv
Why is the type "Double" and not "MoneY" as in averageCpm and all the other
metrics related to money?

Thank you.

Cannot process batch jobs

2017-09-22 Thread Stefano Fontana
Since 1 hour I am not able to complete any batch jobs
Example id: 570369758, 570737388

I only have few operations:
ADD: AdGroupAd: 4 - AdGroupCriterion: 23 - AdGroup: 1
SET: AdGroup: 1
REMOVE: AdGroupAd: 2

Can you please have a look? Usually cancelling and retrying was working

BatchJob does not return all operations performed

2017-06-20 Thread Stefano Fontana
Perhaps related to
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/adwords-api/G2Eld0949P4;noredirect=true

Since this morning I've noticed that some of my uploads are failing because
the BatchJob does not return all the AdGroups that are created.
It's actually a test creating 5001 AdGroups, 5001 AdGroupAds and
5001 AdGroupCriteria that we use for our integration tests.
We send 5001 operations to create AdGroup but we get back a response
containing 4999 items regarding the creation of the AdGroups.
Other details:
 - the test has been running fine till today for more than 1 year
 - the test contains no operations that may cause an error/violation
 - the response does not contain any error
 - it happens around 30-40% of the times that I run that test
 - the missing 2 adgroups are actually created and I can see them on the
interface

Here's the link to the BatchJob result (I believe the url contains the
batchjob id too)

Re: BatchJobService returning inconsistent job results

It also happens when submitting a batch that contains operations that cause
violations.
The worst part is that not even the good ones go through and good ads are
not created.

Re: BatchJobService returning inconsistent job results

2017-05-05 Thread Stefano Fontana
Same here. Job ID 491139160
It seems that the problem arises when you use temporary IDs (i.e. creating
adgroups and ads in the same batch job) .

Re: BatchJobService taking too long since yesterday?

2017-01-24 Thread Stefano Fontana
Hello Shwetha,

Thank you for looking into it.
I'm noticing other slow jobs though.
Example:
 JobId 438029657 (add/remove 54 Ads)
 JobId 438145065 (add 2 Ads)

The same happens for other operation types as well.

Both jobs were taking more than than 2 minutes to complete (even a small
percentage of the task) at which point I canceled and resubmitted the job.
Interestingly enough after cancelling and resubmitting, the job *always*
starts within 10 seconds, not matter what size of what kind of operations I
am submitting.
The most annoying part of a slow job is having to re-submit hundreds of
thousands of operations, which takes a repugnant amount of time in Python
(see my issue
here https://github.com/googleads/googleads-python-lib/issues/118)

Hope this helps :)

Re: BatchJobService taking too long since yesterday?

2017-01-22 Thread Stefano Fontana

Here you can appreciate the amount of the increase (chart shows execution
time per build, there's one build a day). I started to notice a difference
on Jan 11 2017.

We also have an increase of Slow Jobs that are hanging (which we cancel and
then restart), some ids are in the previous post.

Clarification about AdParamService Documentation

2016-10-27 Thread Stefano Fontana
I am a bit confused by the documentation here
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201609/AdParamService
It says:
"""
 default-value specifies the string to display if one of the following
conditions is true:
• The parameter has not been set.
• The parameter's insertion text is too long for the display line.
• The ad is being shown on the Google Display Network.
"""
The confusing part is about the 3rd point: how come it's allowed to update
the parameter that is then ignored if the ad is displayed on the Display
Network?

Related to this question: what are the entities that can use the ad param?

Cheers,
S-

Hello,

this morning some BatchJobs are extremely slow.
Usually cancelling and resubmitting the job did the trick but now even that
doesn't work.
One example is the BatchJob with Id "326707007" it only contains 1
operation:

{u'operator': u'ADD', u'operand': {u'status': u'ENABLED', u'name':
u'12345', u'campaignId': 629535826, u'biddingStrategyConfiguration':
{u'bids': [{u'bid': {u'microAmount': '256'}, u'xsi_type': u'CpcBid'}

Halp :(

Hello Shwetha,

Yes, the problem is exactly the OrderedDict being returned. Here it says
it's a
list
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/reference/v201605/AdGroupService.BiddingStrategyConfiguration#bids
So one of the two must be wrong. Which one is it? :)

Re: BatchJob Cancelled Unknown / Internal Error

2016-05-27 Thread Stefano Fontana
Hi,

Same here. Retrying the job doesn't help.
Sending each type of operation in a separate job *works* though.

I digged a bit more by mixing the different types of operations and I found
that creating a batch job with with these two operations always makes the
batchjob fail (in my particular case):

{u'AdGroupCriterionOperation':
 [{u'operator': u'SET',
   u'operand': {u'biddingStrategyConfiguration': {
   u'bids': [{u'bid': {u'microAmount': '120'}, u'xsi_type':
u'CpcBid'}]},
   u'adGroupId': u'21329742443', u'criterion': {u'id':
u'188722430705'},
   u'xsi_type': u'BiddableAdGroupCriterion'},
   u'xsi_type': u'AdGroupCriterionOperation'}],

 u'AdGroupCriterionLabelOperation':
 [{u'operator': u'REMOVE',
   u'operand': {u'adGroupId': u'11205179483', u'criterionId':
u'70136100181',
u'labelId': 42329003, u'xsi_type':
u'AdGroupCriterionLabel'},
   u'xsi_type': u'AdGroupCriterionLabelOperation'}]
 }

Hope this helps you debugging it.

 What percentage of your batch jobs are failing this way, with UNKNOWN

 The general best practice to do in cases like this is to simply retry

Re: BatchJob v201603 very slow

2016-05-02 Thread Stefano Fontana
Hello Mike,

The logs I sent were for only 4 operations (you can grep by "Operations
uploaded") so 28 minutes is a very long time IMHO.
Moreover the behaviour is not always consistent, as I mentioned earlier if
I cancel the job and start a new one with the very same operations it takes
only 10 seconds (90% of the times, but then I cancel and retry again). It's
as if I was being served by a slow server from time to time.
I think the auto-retrying and rate-limit logic is great, but I think this
issue should be investigated before v201509 is sunset.
If there's no such thing as a limping server maybe the scheduling logic
could be reviewed, IMHO a job with few operations should be executed much
faster than a job with thousands of operations but from what I see this is
not the case oftentimes.

I am surprised that only few other people reported this issue, perhaps many
are still using the older version.
I also observed that there are days where the jobs are very slow (like
today) and others where the jobs are only somewhat slow.

Hello Umesh,

The ClientTermsError appears in the log because suds it's also printing the
wsdl.
I don't think that's the culprit for the extremely slow jobs. I double
check my account just to be sure.
Moreover these jobs do terminate sometimes.

Looking forward to solving this problem asap.

You could implement some logic that cancels the jobs and resubmit it if 0
operations are executed after X seconds.
But yeah, hope this is solved asap by Google.

Hello,

I'm experiencing the same so after a while I cancel the job and retry which
is working "fine" for now.
(Tip: just wait for the job's status to be "CANCELING" and not "CANCELED"
because that also takes ages!).
Of course this is just a stopgap solution...waiting a couple of minutes for
2 operations to complete is very inefficient.

BatchJob v201603 very slow

2016-04-05 Thread Stefano Fontana
Hello,

Same as
in
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!newtopic/adwords-api/adwords-api/1zv1-t0YZDY
my batch job are sometimes extremely slow.

For
example
https://batch-job-download-prod-ebe9b43.storage.googleapis.com/109310708/38018871.results.xml?GoogleAccessId=926043054183-rbu1gkdushnqrfcf47gser4u8qse2...@developer.gserviceaccount.com=1462438137=O9pHimDZB%2Bn0HIGWG8mfz19UXiJXsIXgekPTsxVfO6wZRY0q1uH2gYpj65wEccvCOQPM4QvGQYXYM99UjqRfXCfYg2UhXcA9YZQ5oPgZQfsONTPWhpJZzQWiLtn58ZIU%2FKwKDCSYGGnO8iE6ws9wdePN165myYvvfklLM%2Fk5Tsj828Nm4rE%2F%2FnqjcRY0kVkxkOOBu9xjflFK%2BpjQEPxAp2bRbEFGIpFIt%2FYWS7mIgz%2BKIhv8AaDyDz8GJRGpvuVMGON2vUo8EblkAyHf8GlAT6Q2RsO%2BvialbbXS2170Q9%2FsFy3wgS6MVTFfWDVKgvas9GE7CtCfQ8l8l%2FJHIEH53Q%3D%3D

executed 2 operations and took more than 3 minutes to complete.
To me it also seems that this is happening more frequently compared to a
couple of weeks ago.
The long waiting periods seem to be independent from the type of operations
I am sending.

Is there anything I can do to avoid this behaviour?
Will the service be stabilised in the future?

Cheers,
   Stefano-

Attaching a non existing boomuserlist::xxx to an AdGroup

2016-01-12 Thread Stefano Fontana
Hello,

I'm trying to add an audience to an AdGroup.
I see that it's possible to add an non existing audience with the following
operation:

operation = {'operator': 'ADD',
  'operand':{
'xsi_type': 'BiddableAdGroupCriterion', 'adGroupId': 24076441286,
'criterionUse': 'BIDDABLE',
'criterion': {'xsi_type': 'CriterionUserList', 'userListId': 123 }
  }
}
ad_group_criterion_service.mutate([operation])

On the interface I can see the audience is added to the AdGroup but I
cannot see it on the 'Audience lists' in the shared library.

How come I can add a non existing audience and what does this list mean
exactly?
I read the other posts about boomuserlist but I couldn't find a thorough
answer.

Cheers,
   Stefano-
