Re: [AFMUG] Current Stable UBNT FW for NBM5

XM and XW work fine together. XM and legacy radios, that’s a slightly
different story with older rockets. I have them running but I still haven’t
exactly figured out what happened.

Re: [AFMUG] Current Stable UBNT FW for NBM5

2015-02-16 Thread Brett A Mansfield
Out of 90 radios from nanostation loco M5s to nanobeam M5 300s to rockets and
everything in between that I've upgraded to XW 5.5.10 I've had issues with only
two. Both of those two had the exact same issue. I can no longer connect via
the LAN port. It will get the PoE just fine, but completely stopped any traffic
from going through the LAN port. It won't even show connected on anything
anymore. This happened immediately after the upgrade at different times on two
different radios, so I can only assume it was the upgrade that caused the issue.

The 5.5.10 opened up the UNI-I band on some radios and dropped the noise floor
by more than 10db on all of them. I've had to reboot or even power cycle some
customers radios from time to time, but it's pretty stable. I think it's worth
the risk to upgrade in most cases. If it breaks, you can always RMA, though I
haven't had a chance to with mine yet.

Thank you,
Brett A Mansfield

2015-02-16 Thread That One Guy
ouch.

weve moved to 5.5.10 on all ubnt gear

I ran into one issue with an nbm5 we upgraded, it was powered by a
toughswitch. When the upgrade rebooted the radio didnt come back up. went
and tested and the toughswitch was working fine, it powers other radios no
problem. the upgraded nbm5 will power on with one of the POEs just not a
toughswitch, even tested with a different switch, was an odd thing. I dont
know if it was related to upgrading the firmware, could have just been
something that was going to happen the next time it rebooted.
