Re: [AFMUG] N-Male Pigtails for 5 GHz / A5c?
Thank you for the suggestions. I ended up getting cables from MPD Digital as Rory suggested. You can get them through Amazon (Good price, no website risk like their custom cable page had). They are not low PIM connectors, but I'm planning for this to be a set-and-forget setup... we'll see. Thank you. Re: [AFMUG] N-Male Pigtails for 5 GHz / A5c?
I haven't had too many problems with the regular cheap-o patch cables, like the 16" LMR240 cables that Cambium sells. Yes, you can see the plating flake off. I usually mate them fairly tight one time, back them off, take a can of compressed air and blow everything out, then fully hand tighten and seal. I've had a handful of 450 APs leak now, so I quit doing the heat-shrink sealing. Too much of a pain in the ass to tear apart when they leak. I've had regular silicone-rubber tape wrapped APs leak too, so it's not the shrink not sealing. Two I know of, the radio cover was the culprit. Others have been the Gore vent getting blown in or deteriorated, or not properly installed in the first place. On 3/28/2017 3:16 PM, ch...@wbmfg.com wrote: The cheaper ones are actually die cast.
