Re: [all-audio] Looking For Equivalent to Olympus DS-40Recorder
Tom, you might want to look on Ebay, I got 26 hits for Olympus DS 40, some new, some preowned. And I'm sure they would have some DS 50 listings as well. I've looked all over in areas where I thought it might be! But alas, it just doesn't seem to be here! I know that this series of digital recorders don't exist anymore under DS-40 or DS-50! But what is Olympus making now that is the equivalent? I used this recorder mainly to record music gigs (I know it mainly is supposed to be a voice recorder) but I found that it doesn't do bad for recording live music! I also liked this machine because of its size (small enough that I could just stick it in my pocket) so assuming that I cannot locate the one I have, I'd surely love to find a good replacement for it; I'd even go for the equivalent to the DS-50 (which might be even better; also would like to know where would be the best place to find one here in the U.S.A.? Re: [all-audio] Tablature
Hi Andrea, With print music, like sheet music, guitar tablature, or tabs are a small diagram which appears above the staff. They show finger placement for particular chords. They are sometimes referred to as a chord box. I think of them as kind of a key for the guitar player to follow, especially for beginners who haven't completely learned how to read music. . If you are a patron of the NLS, you should call your local librarian to inquire about what the NLS Music Section has to help you with tabs. I know the NLS has Bill Brown's Guitar by Ear instructional series, which I have and it is very good. But I can also understand if you want an in-person instructor. And here's a site which might offer some help: https://brailletab.com/en/ Lastly, tablature is spelled T A B L A T U R E. HTH, let me know if I can be of further assistance, Norma -Original Message- From: all-audio@groups.io [mailto:all-audio@groups.io] On Behalf Of Andrea Sherry Sent: Wednesday, February 07, 2018 4:02 AM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: [all-audio] Tableture Hope I got the spelling correct. [all-audio] Seeking 2nd sound card recommendations
Hi group, I'm looking for a 2nd sound card I can use with Jaws. I've looked at a few but people mention that the card will bypass the internal sound card. So, I need a little clarification here, as I thought all sound cards were basically the same, except for quality and features, of course. I'm just looking for a card for under $20 that I can run my Jaws through and not bypass my internal sound card. Re: [all-audio] Daisy Player Suggestions
I am a loyal customer of APH's Book Port Plus. My first unit of this type was actually a Book port, if anyone remembers those. I've never had a VR Stream, the Book Port Plus does everything I need it to do, and I feel the recording capabilities are quite good. http://shop.aph.org/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_Book+Port+Plus_1-07191-00P_10001_11051#content -Original Message- From: all-audio@groups.io [mailto:all-audio@groups.io] On Behalf Of Andrea Sherry Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2018 3:19 AM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: [all-audio] Daisy Player Suggestions Need to purchase a new player. Re: [all-audio] Olympus LS-P4 Recorder
I believe, as adults, we should decide what to purchase by what we prefer in terms of features, price, whatever. As a blind person, my first priority is whether or not I can use the damn thing. Frankly, I'd like to continue to see specs and real-world use, but how about how accessible the device is? Android recording apps/was RE: [all-audio] Olympus LS-P4 Recorder
Check out Stereomatch's apps on the Play Store, his Amazing MP3 Recorder gets pretty high marks from folks on the Eyes Free list. (BTW, it records in more than Mp3.) Re: [all-audio] cleaning up vinyl records?
Hi Wolf, I've been doing a little research in this area myself. There are times when a CD just won't do if one has nice clean vinyl. Check out the following for cleaning tips: http://www.factmag.com/2015/06/04/8-cheap-easy-ways-to-clean-vinyl-records-by-hand/ If you Google "how to clean vinyl records" you'll get lots of suggestions. Cleaning vinyl is ahotly debated subject, so most likely you'll find contradictory info. You'll just have to choose what is best for you in terms of budget, if the vinyl is a collectible, etc. Good luck, HTH Norma -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
