Sorry, but I does not remember anything about this bug. However, I tried to
replicate it, but it seems there is no database type for a generic ldap server
(there is an item called 'LDAP evolution' but I guess is not for me...).

I noticed that OOo doesn't handle correctly settings.xml, if that file contains
spaces. For example, each of these two elements should set the value true to
variable AddParaTableSpacing:

config:config-item config:name=AddParaTableSpacing
config:type=booleantrue/config:config-item

   config:config-item config:name=AddParaTableSpacing config:type=boolean
true
   /config:config-item

Instead, the second form doesn't work.

It would be great to have a chance to set the style for conditional formatting
using a formula, instead to select an item in the list box. This can be done
adding a new item like 'Style name is', after 'Cell value is' and 'Formula is'.
If the formula returns a valid style name, apply it; if not, fall back to the
select style in the drop-down list. This behaviour should greatly improve some
conditional formatting issues.

Scenario:
Suppose A1 is a cell in which the user has to input some codes, while the cell
A2 has a formula that check the value in A1 and establish the appropriate style
for it (with a lot of different possible results).
Now, I need a third cell, say A3, with a formula like '=A1
IF(STYLE(A2);;', in order to get the value formatted as I want. This implies
that user input area and rendering area have to be diffent ones.

With my proposal, I should simply set a conditional formatting for cell A1,
choosing 'Style name is' and then putting into the formula 'A2', to get the
format directly applied to the cell.

Sorry.
I made queries, but I didn't find any bug. This was because I left untouched
options selected in the 'Status' box and 'Closed' was not selected by default.
Now, I learned the lesson and changed the default, selecting all items in the

I register my ldap server as database for OOo. The settings seems good: when I
try to connect, the connection succeds. But every query i tried, I got a message
box saying 'The data content could not be loaded. Timeout waiting for result'.
This happens either on data source interface (on Writer docs) and on Base
interface.
Trying to make a query using the wizard, I can get the field labels and the
query definition is saved, so I assume that the connection is working...

The ldap server is correctly working, as i can use it as addressbook in my
Mozilla Thunderbird profile.

I just discovered that OOo doesn't test correctly the connection on my ldap
server: whatever I write in the username field (on Database properties box) or
in the password field (on the 'User Name and Password Required' box), the
program ever says 'The connection was established successfully'.

The problem is not linked to a specific document:
on my computer, with OOo 1.9.93, *every* document printed to my Epson EPL-2750
has characters overlapping. But it seems that the only case that goes wrong is
that one. All other tests goes well:
* I can print, from my computer, with OOo 1.9.93, to other printers
* I can print, from others PCs, with OOo 1.9.93, to that Epson EPL-2750
* I can print, from my computer, with other apps (including OOo 1.1), to that
Epson EPL-2750

I tried to remove and reinstall either OOo and the printer driver, but the
problem still remains...

Thank you for your hints, but I would like to reopen the issue:

1) I think that OOo Help should explain how to add a new trusted certificate,
but I didn't find any explanation about this on the Help.

2) I tried to add my Gpg key to MS Crypto engine, but it seems that engine
accepts only PKCS format files and I didn't find any way to convert my key to
that format.
Why OOo doesn't allow to directly use GPG (PGP) keys to digitally sign
documents?

The 'Apply Style' Combobox in the 'formatting' toolbar contains some default
styles, like 'Default', 'Heading1', etc.

When using OOo writer with a user interface other then English, name style are
translated (so 'Heading1', on Italian, becomes 'Intestazione1'), but items in
the 'Apply Style' are not, and thus selecting them does nothing.

Using OOo 2.0Beta, Try this:
in the cell A1, put the string 'Data'
in the cell A2, put a number

Select cells A1:A2

Menu Data/DataPilot/Start...
Select source: Current Selection

You should get, in the list of available fields, TWO fields named 'Data'

I saw this defect only for the string 'Data'; other strings work as expected.

I tried the same operation with the italian version of OOo (1.9.79): in that
case, DataPilot duplicates the field when the string is 'Dati', that is the
italian translation for 'Data'.

When copying a table from Writer and pasting it to Calc, the first two table
columns are spanned to more sheet columns.

Try this:
on a Writer document, create and populate a table with 4 columns.
Select the table and copy it to the clipboard.
Go to an empty sheet and past.
You should get, for each row, a cell spanning from A to B with the value
corresponding to the first column, another cell spanning from C to D with the
value corresponding to the second column, and cells in E and F for values in the
two latest columns.

When editing a paragraph style, the 'contains' section in 'Organizer' tab is
automatically updated for some options (like font, width, etc) but not for
other, like alignment and numbering.

Open Styles and Formatting pane
Right click on 'default' style and choose 'Modify'
* On 'Organizer' tab, 'contains' section should be empty
Go on 'Alignment' tab and select 'Justify'.
Come back to 'Organizer' tab: 'contains' section is yet empty.
Press 'Ok'.
Again, right click on 'default' style and choose 'Modify'
This time, 'contains' section should show 'Justify'

When setting a numbering style on the paragraph style 'Heading', that style is
not inherited by styles Heading 1, 2, etc... even if these styles are based on
Heading.

On MS Excel, when I need to view two different sheets from the same document, I
can select then menu option Window/new window and then Window/Arrange. This way,
in a couple of clicks, I'm able to display more windows which doesn't overlap
each other.

On OOo Calc, to get the same result, I need to manually resize the windows.

Moreover, on Excel the two sub-windows share the same buttons bar and formula
bar, while on Calc each window has is own bars, thus hiding buttons in the
right.

Toolbars terminate to the right with a grey rectangle containing a little black
triangle. Clicking on that rectancle cause a popup menu to appear.

When the toolbar size is greater that the window one (i. e. when the window is
resized), in the top of that grey rectangle will appear an icon like ''. In
such a situation, clicking on the rectangle does nothing.

Moreover, it's enough that only one toolbar shows the '' on the right, to
disable that popup menu on all the displayed toolbars.

Say we have these formulas in a sheet:

A1: 1
A2: 2
A3: (empty)
A4: 4

B1: =A1*2
B2: =A2*2
B3: =A3*2
B4: =A4*2
B5: =SUM(B1:B4)

If I drag cell A2 to cell A3, the formula in B2 became =A3*2, but the formula in
B3 still contains =A3*2, so the cell A3 will be counted twice.

On Excel, the same operation causes the formula in B3 to be set to =#RIF!*2.

When I try to modify a cell contained in an array, I get a message saying 'You
cannot change only a part of an array', but I haven't any way to automatically
select the entire array.

I think that OOo Calc should give a chance to do this, i.e. to automatically
select the array with double clic on a cell, or with some option in the popup
menu.

On OOo Calc, cell works only when there are more than one cell selected, or
when a single selected cell is 'blacked' (to do this, I have to clic on the cell
I want to move, keep the left button down, move the cursor out of that cell and
then move it again over the interested cell).

I think this behaviour is not the best, and I would like to have the possibility
to drag and drop single cells with a single mouse command (on Excel, I can do
this by dragging the cell starting from its border).

The steps to reproduce are the following:
(on a pc with Win98):
1) open a spreadsheet with Calc
2) Insert/Sheet from file...
3) select an existing text file from a shared folder in a linux/smb server
4) import the file
-
(on the server with linux):
5) create some way a temporary file (i.e.: ps aux /var/tmp/temp.txt)
6) move /var/tmp/temp.txt to the destination corresponding at the file selected
on point 3), overwriting it
--
7) come back to Calc
8) Insert/Sheet from file...
9) select again the same text file
10) you should get the old data.

In my locale (it), the char used as decimal separator is ,.
On Excel, when pressing the . key in the numpad, that key is automatically
translated to ,, so I can use the numpad to quickly insert numeric and
currency values. On Calc, this doesn't happen :-(

Is it possible to autamatically bind the . key in the numpad as the decimal
separator set in the locale?

It seems the note disappeared because I set the default file format on
'OpenOffice.org 1.0 Spreadsheet'. But I need to do this for backward
compatibility. However, OpenOffice.org 1.0 Spreadsheet had support for notes, so
I would expect that new notes didn't disappear even using that format...

I'm here again. :-(

Sorry, but I'm not able to find any rule to predict when notes are saved and
when not. Sometimes all seem work fine, but sometimes the notes go lost, either
with new OpenDocument file format or with old OpenOffice.org one:-(

This time, I think I really found how to replicate the bug.

The program saves only the notes found in the first sheet which has notes.
If more than one sheet has notes, these notes will be lost.
