I thought I posted a comment, and was kind of surprised to discover that it is not there, and left as "no info received". Didn't mean to do that, sorry. The answer to previous query was, it wasn't me who set up bad_connector_very_close_together.odp, it was joseph_mcquire, so I don't know how to answer this question. But I posted other files with contrasting versions. I am happy to test more if I know what files to test. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Loading the 2.11 doc in 3.1.1 or 3.2 shows all line skew greyed out. Loading the 3.1.1 doc in 3.2 also shows the skew all greyed out. Loading BadConnector.odg shows the bad routing which is corrected when shifting the boxes. The bad connector shows one skew box active (!). I do not know how. @myrosia: In which version and how did you setup the file badconnector_very_close_together.odp? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When checked, line skew is set to 0.0cm. Connectors in the upper half of the diagram (e.g. backwards acts to domain reasoning) get routed badly. Line skew field appears either disabled or shows 3 line fields with line skew set to 0cm (instead of a single enabled line field) This may be something about boxes rather than connectors themselves. Page 2 is a near-exact copy from page 1, but I deleted 3 boxes in the right column headed "answer extraction", "domain reasoning/diagnosis" and "tutorial strategy determination". I then copied the box headed three times "Lesson Management" and re-typed the text to make them like the original boxes. Now I can draw connectors that connect them without any trouble. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I didn't draw it in any particularly interesting way - just threw together a bunch of boxes and connectors in OpenOffice 2, the version we were using 2 years ago, using default settings. We use an in-house linux distribution based on Scientific Linux. Our systems were recently upgraded to use Open Office 3.1. When I opened the diagram to make changes, the connectors were routed badly all over. To make the attachment for this bug, I just extracted a couple of boxes from my larger diagram, trying to make as small example as I could. I unfortunately don't have access to the original OO version used to create the diagram, since all updates are office-wide. I just opened the original architecture diagram OpenOffice 2 file on a laptop with OpenOffice 3.00m21 (build 9391), running on OpenSuse 11.1, Dell Latitude d430. It looks perfectly fine, with all connectors routed correctly. But all the line skew properties are indeed disabled, just as your badConnector.jpg collage shows. No special characters that I can see. The example you have, badConnector very close together, actually shows as overlapping boxes with OO 3.00m21 here. I will re-test on Monday on my office computer to see if re-enabling line skew fixes the problem in the 3.1. When I was trying to replicate, moving and re-attaching seemed to fix it temporarily, but then they went randomly broken again when I moved the boxes slightly while doing more edits. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Configuration: WinXP (SP3) 2002 multimedia, HP Pavillon, dv9005us. Seems like the converted file has some disabled connector properties for Line Skew / Line 1. 1). Using Edit -> Duplicate of bad connector slide created a duplicate slide with a fixed connector. 2). On moving a box or the line on bad connector slide the connector was fixed. 3). By re-selecting the type field in connector property dialog the connector was fixed. The change in the connector property in all these case the header Line Skew for Line 1 and numeric value were enabled and numeric field was set to 0.0. 4). Another possibilities issue could be the numeric value has a right context menu item that can be set the value to a non-numeric "special character" values. Tested setting non-numeric values but value got reset to last valid numeric field. 5). Was able to reproduce the bad connector sensitive to moving line and boxes on bad slide but once connector was fixed did not see this behavior anymore. 6). The bad connector could also be replicated by inputting a large value, 7, in the fixed connector Line 1 Skew numeric field. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I had a set of diagrams originally drawn in OpenOffice 2, where I had no problems. When I opened them in 3.1, all diagrams were messed up. An example document, together with a JPG of how it looks, is attached. I tried to determine the exact conditions when it happens, but couldn't quite define them. It seems to be that the problem is when two shapes are placed too close, for example, if the connector needs to be in an almost straight line. But whether the connector gets routed off the page or not seems to randomly depend on small variations in distance and angle between shapes. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
