[Anima] Pending ANIMA drafts

2020-04-07 Thread Brian E Carpenter
Hi everybody,

Comments on the following drafts have been sadly lacking since IETF 106. As a
result I have not asked for time on the April 9th agenda, especially since it
will be 3 a.m. on April 10th for me.

As a reminder, the base GRASP specification is sitting quietly in the RFC
Editor queue waiting for a missing normative reference (the ACP draft).

https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-anima-grasp-api

This version was based on several reviews and there were no changes requested
during IETF 106. I would like to ask for WG Last Call *now* on this draft to
see if there is consensus. (It's Informational, like most IETF work on APIs. It
is also about to expire; I would rather get some more comments before
refreshing it.)

https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-carpenter-anima-asa-guidelines
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-carpenter-anima-grasp-bulk
https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-carpenter-anima-l2acp-scenarios

I would really like more feedback on these drafts. The first two are old enough
that either the WG should adopt them, or they should be discarded. Without your
feedback, nothing will happen.

The l2acp draft has just expired, and will be revised shortly.

Stay well
   Brian Carpenter

[Anima] Agenda/Logistics for ANIMA virtual interrim 04/09, 15:00 - 17:00 UTC

2020-04-07 Thread Toerless Eckert
Crisp short agenda for now, so if anyone has to propose more, please bring it
up.
This is also on the etherpad, so if you want to propose more , just add it at
the
end of the agenda on Etherpad.

If you can not attend due to Time Zone issues, but would like something to be
said
about some work of yours (or anything else), pls. feel free to send email to
the chairs and
we can bring it in front of the WG.

For those on the agenda, pls. upload your slides. I sent an email for the
non-WG chairs how to do it, else send slides to the chairs.

[Anima] FYI: Pls fix: Wrong webex for anima interim created by datatracker

2020-04-07 Thread Toerless Eckert
Dear secretariat (if not right recipient for thi, pls. tell me who)
Cc: wgchairs, maybe someone listening here knows how to fix this.
FYI: anima for the group wondering why they got a new webex invite.

I just noticed, that the webex listed on datatracker for the virtual ANIMA
meeting
is wrong, e.g.:

https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/interim-2020-anima-01/session/anima

Shows a webex URL of
https://cisco.webex.com/cisco/j.php?MTID=m16f8e0d12f6d12c3c37984c73f20efb8
which is not a valid IETF webex URL and i fear it wouldn't work (it gives
weird info when i now click on it).

[ Expanation ? I did create the virtual meeting request simply
through the standard datatracker page designated for it. The only way
how i can explain this wrong creation of the webex meeting information
is that datatracker, when automatically creating the webex session
through my browser somehow used another personal webex account i have
(somewhere in the webex cookies on my browsers ?) instead of the
anima WG chair webex account, and therefore choose the wrong webex
server. Obviously, i had to be logged into datatracker with my anima
chair account to even create the interrim, so even though this is
the only explanation i can bring up, it doesn't make sense to me either. ]

In any case. As a poor double victim of weird webex account management,
i would like to ask:

If possible, please fix the webex URLs and dialin info for the
virtual ANIMA meeting on datatracker (above URL) to a correct ietf webex
that i have just created for the purpose. Otherwise, folks might
simply go to the datatracker page, click on the webex and end up
nowhere.

Here is the correct webex info:

Re: [Anima] Webex meeting invitation: IETF 2020 ANIMA virtual meeting 1 (Webex)

2020-04-07 Thread Panwei (William)
Hi Chairs,

On the datatracker webpage, it is said that ANIMA meeting is 2020-04-09 15:00
C 17:00 UTC. But this WebEx meeting notification shows it is 13:00 C 15:00
UTC.
I’d like to double check which one is right.

[Anima] Why a 2nd Last Call ? Re: Last Call: (An Autonomic Control Plane (ACP)) to Proposed Standard

2020-04-07 Thread Eric Vyncke (evyncke)

The previous IETF Last Call on this document was in February 2018 for revision
-13. Since then, the authors have made substantive changes in the document and
we are now at revision -24. The authors and myself believe that the document is
ready for IESG evaluation but I, as the shepherding AD, consider that the
amount of changes requires a new IETF Last Call.

Thank you for the review and thank you for the authors and the WG for the
efforts put in this document

Best regards

The IESG has received a request from the Autonomic Networking Integrated
Model and Approach WG (anima) to consider the following document: - 'An
Autonomic Control Plane (ACP)'
   as Proposed Standard

The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits final
comments on this action. Please send substantive comments to the
last-c...@ietf.org mailing lists by 2020-04-21. Exceptionally, comments may
be sent to i...@ietf.org instead. In either case, please retain the

of the Subject line to allow automated sorting.

Abstract

Autonomic functions need a control plane to communicate, which
depends on some addressing and routing. This Autonomic Control Plane
should ideally be self-managing, and as independent as possible of
configuration. This document defines such a plane and calls it the
"Autonomic Control Plane", with the primary use as a control plane
for autonomic functions. It also serves as a "virtual out-of-band
channel" for Operations, Administration and Management (OAM)
communications over a network that provides automatically configured
hop-by-hop authenticated and encrypted communications via
automatically configured IPv6 even when the network is not
   configured, or misconfigured.
