Hi Alexei,

Many thanks. I will explore if there is something useful I can contribute
to the documentation.

Best wishes,

 Hi,

I would like to register and present resource information in multiple
languages using CIDOC-CRM and the improved support for localization
 starting with Arches 5.1

I built the model with the following structure:

 Resource Model (E18 Physical thing)
 |__ Resource Name (E41 Appellation)
   |__ Language (E33 Linguistic Object)
  |__Language Type (E56 Language)

"Resource Name" has the data type "string". For the "Language Type" I
assign the data type "concept" and select the "language" collection from
 the *"*Reference Data Manager".

 Procedure:
Resource Model is added with names in corresponding languages.

 Expected output:
Searching for resource name defined in language A while having selected
the locale A gives back the name in language A.

 Real output:
Searching for resource name defined in language A while having selected
the locale A gives back the name in the language it was first created in.

Does my approach make sense? What am I missing? Is there a better
solution to achieve the described goal?

 Many thanks for your help,
 Anjo

Hi Dennis,

It sounds like there is a lot of great progress going on.

Let me know if I can be of any help regarding the use cases. Indeed, it
would be interesting and helpful to discover different approaches and
requirements for multi-language projects.

Wish you a great week,
Anjo

Thanks George...
I had a talk with Martin Doerr several years ago, what I remember was
mostly related with the need of a multidisciplinary team to approach this
task.
Maybe time has come to make another attempt...
My background is in architecture and heritage documentation/catalogation.
Will be happy to keep in touch and discuss possible developments...

Hello everyone. I am new to Arches and I don't know how to translate
the complete Arches ontology, if possible, into another language, in my
case into Spanish. I have version 5.1.0 installed and I have been able to
translate some things related to the settings file to the language and .po
files. But I have not been able to find how to translate the ontology in
 an
automatic way, as I know that it can be done manually for the name of each
 of the attributes/nodes/concepts.

 Thanks for your help.

[Arches] Graph view replacement

2021-03-22 Thread Mahmoud Abdelrazek
Hi all,

I am looking for a tool to visualise the resource models ( and maybe
thesauri and collections too). I understand that the graph view in the
resource designer is not available in v5.1. I wonder if anyone can
recommend a tool that produces a similar impact.

In the HIP package, there was a few gephi files that can produce graph
visualisations too. Is there a system to export the resource models in
gephi format?

All best,
Mahmoud

[Arches] Re: Google Analytics - how do you add?

2021-03-22 Thread christop...@historicengland.org.uk
Hi Jude,

I think this is a Google Analytics question rather than an Arches question,
but I think you need to add isleofmanher.im to your existing Google
Analytics account, assuming you have permission to do so:
https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1009694

That should create a sub-section for your new URL. It will, however, have a
new GA key, if I remember from the last time I set one up.

Hope this helps.
