would like to share your observations with the lust readers damn it Siri that's
list readers (well most of them) who are not able to attend.

exchange messages.

Re: NOT SOLVED: PERFORM-ACTION-OPEN-URL to open internal network site

2014-10-13 Thread Rick Westbrock
I didn’t notice that, do you think the space may need to be URL-encoded into
%20? Personally I still think it’s the browser security but this is one other
trick to try, you’d have to add an extra action before the run process to do
the replacement but if that works then you would need to write (or find) a
function to URL encode all characters that are not HTML compliant.

Stuff below taken from here:

If you have PHP on your web server you can directly display a PDF doing

header('Content-Disposition: inline; filename=' . $filename . '');

The last thing I want to do is muddy the issue, but this rings a faint bell
about browser security.

It has been awhile and I can't recall the specifics, but maybe it will jog
someone else's memory. It was something about trying to open a file on a local
path that the browser (by default) viewed as malicious activity and either did
nothing, or 404'd as a result.

It may not be applicable, but just in case.

Please post to this thread if you are at the BMC Engage 2014 conference and

I didn’t notice that, do you think the space may need to be URL-encoded into
%20? Personally I still think it’s the browser security but this is one other
trick to try, you’d have to add an extra action before the run process to do
the replacement but if that works then you would need to write (or find) a
function to URL encode all characters that are not HTML compliant.

You sent this originally: Run Process: PERFORM-ACTION-OPEN-URL

The %20 needs to be between the IT and the HD with no spaces. Alternately, can
you change that directory (folder) to IT-HD (or some name with spaces)?

would like to share your observations with the lust readers damn it Siri that's
list readers (well most of them) who are not able to attend.

as well as your descriptions of the conference and the Disney World experience

Also note there are lots of other social media connections to the BMC streams

Re: ENGAGE 2014 Commentary

2014-10-13 Thread Doug Blair
Hi!

Spent the afternoon at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and yesterday at Epcot. I'm
about done with theme parks for a while.

The first observation I'd like to make is about scale. Everything in this space
is massive, and even though it looks like there are more than s thousand in the
Monday reception at the moment, there are tens of thousands in Disney World and
the surrounding non-conference-type hotels. All made to feel unique and
special. (insert Mickey Mouse icon in your choice of fonts here)

Scale also brings to my mind that BMC Engage is a larger conference than the
WWRUG meetings have been. I have met many of my friends (drinking buddies,
co-workers, party animals, former employers!) from past conferences in the
lobby, and I'm meeting a lot of new folks too. This is, I think, a Good Thing.
As the week progresses we'll see how all these groups interact.

The exhibit hall is huge too. Lots of vendors to talk to, lots of swag to
collect, and it will take several visits to see them all. I've always tried to
chat with every single one of the exhibitors, you never know what's going turn
out to be useful.

Speaking of which, the foods good too, so

Later

Re: ENGAGE 2014 Commentary

2014-10-13 Thread Doug Blair
Joe,

Monday was sort of quiet if you don't count all the certification training and
classes, and if you don't count the huge reception in the technology showcase
and if you don't count all the anticipation about Engage

And it wasn't quiet for me. Went to the Hollywood Movie Studio park and rode
the Hollywood Hotel Tower of Terror for the first time, then went back after
the Engage reception and rode it twice more in the dark! Yeha!

All that adrenaline should put me in the right mood for Tuesday's keynote.

Quiet day at the RUG? Or is it just a delay on the list emails this Monday?
