Re: export AP:Form, AP:Process, AP:Role From BMC Remedy User

2009-06-30 Thread Ashwin
Hey Krishna,

The Tools-Manage-Files is used to manage the serach files, macros etc
stored in preference server.
I assume that you are trying to import / export the definition files.
If you wish to import or export the AP:Form, AP:Process, AP:Role,
AP:Notification etc (for that matter any form), you will have to use
Admin tool (or Dev Studio). You will have to use Tools-Import
Definitions or
Tools-Export Definitions for importing and exporting def files
respectively.

Hope this is useful.

Thanks,
Ashwin

Re: RIK utility program...

2009-06-23 Thread Ashwin

As far as I know, there is no published documentation.
But I got started with RIK by looking at the installation logs.
In installation log, if you search for RIK, you will be able to
see it in action.

Re: ARERR [311] Field ID is not related to this form : 200000020

2009-05-30 Thread Ashwin
The explanation for error 311 goes like this:

The field ID references a field that is not defined for the current
form.
You attempted an operation against the wrong form or server, or the
structure of the form was
changed to eliminate the field ID from the form. Change to the correct
form or server, or remove
the Field Name from the Field Sort Order list to complete the
operation.

It means that somewhere in the workflow this field is getting refered.
To find out the problematic workflow you can start your workflow log and
log both filter and active link messages to the same file. See if you
can get any reference to this field in the log.

Thanks,
Ashwin

  Dear List,

I have a form (Form A) with 20,000 records. I can open the form in the
client User tool, and run an unqualified query and retrieve all records.
On Form B and C I have buttons that call Active Links, which are supposed
to open particular records in Form A. But instead I get the above error-
  usually.

On Form B there is a character field, and a button that calls a link that
opens the single record in Form A that matches the character field. That
  button/link works.

If I click a button that should display 35 records I get the error. But
I can display each of the 35 records one at a time by pasting the value in
the character field and clicking button that opens the matching record.

I checked the BMC Knowledge Base and found an entry about an “embedded
query. 20020 is the “Name fieldid in the Asset Management
module, which we have. So somewhere in our set-up there must be a
reference to this “Name field. But I’ve checked the Database data
for every field on the form, as well as the form itself.

There is no error or reference to 20020 in the Active Link, Filter, or
SQL logs. There are no tables with references to 20020 .

  Any suggestions?

  Dear all,

I have some performance issues with our Remedy server (ARS 7.1)
and as a starting point I have enabled the SQL/API logs. I need
to analyse these, but doing it manually is quite time consuming.
so... does anyone have a link to the arwklga.exe utility for
download. I checked the Dev Community but could not find it.

  Many thanks in advance

Re: ARS 7.5 Install Issue

2009-05-26 Thread Ashwin
Hi Rafeal,
Good to hear that you solved your problem.
You have written - The worst part about it is the new suite
install that only allow you to install it once.
As far as I know 7.5 installer still supports upgrade
installation and you can run the installer multiple times to
either upgrade or over-write the existing installation.
Can you please elaborate on your statement that you can install
ony once?
Thanks
Ashwin

Howard thanks for you reply, actually there were some issues with
forms and workflow that did not exists. Funny that 7.0.1 Patch6
never through any exemptions and now on 7.5 there were errors all
over the place. The worst part about it is the new suite install
that only allow you to install it once. THIS IS A PAIN IN THE
BUTT!

I got it resolved but had to literally unistall it and clean it
out numerous times before it would take.
