Re: AREmail emails going to wrong users
Just to give the list an update. Support has uncovered another bug with the email engine where on occasion the body of the previous message is sent instead of the correct message body. After we patched the email engine to 7.1 patch 008, we were still seeing the issue. We didn't see the issue very often. We do have a process where the generated emails contain very different data. In that process we would see it about 4 out of 110 messages. We would see the issue when a large number of emails would hit the email engine at roughly the same time. If some other process was tying up the server, the load would be spread out over a little longer period of time and we wouldn't see the issue. The issue will be addressed in a future patch. The work around is to make a change in the emaildaemon.properties file. The suggested work around change the following parameter from com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.SendEmailSetSize=100 to com.bmc.arsys.emaildaemon.SendEmailSetSize=50 It is noted that this may delay emails a bit. This bug only shows up when the system is sending a number of outbound emails. We would see the bug in about 6 of 120 outbound emails. It would not always be the same 6 but we were seeing roughly the same number each time. This has been corrected in the latest 7.1 patch 008 and in 7.5 Patch 003. I have a mailbox configured to use a standard solaris sendmail to send emails. Occasionally users are receiving the wrong emails. For example as per AR System Email Messages form, email1 was sent out to user1, email2 was sent out to user2, email3 was sent out to user3. User3 somehow received email2. Not sure if user2 received email1. This seems to happen only for emails that have the same Date Sent time in the AR System Email Messages form. Has anyone else seen this? It's hard to do any troubleshooting in the sendmail logs since it doesn't log anything other than the time and the destination email address. Re: AREmail emails going to wrong users
Thanks for the info. As a note, to compensate for the potential negative impact of reducing the set size, the polling interval can be decreased. I've seen polling intervals as low as 30 seconds for outgoing mailboxes, and it works very well in the email engine 7.1. I assume a polling interval of 30 seconds is fine too for the email engine 7.5 Guillaume From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [arsl...@arslist.org] on behalf of Shellman, David [dave.shell...@tycoelectronics.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 11:56 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: AREmail emails going to wrong users Just to give the list an update.
