[asterisk-users] Aastra 480i repair?
Just found out my maintanence agreement with fonality does not cover phones over a year old. So, of course, they don't repaird phones, only replace them. Very worldly of them... Anyone know where I can get an Aastra 480i repaired? The phone works on speakerphone, but when you lift the receiver offthe hook, the phone does not engage. There is something wrong with the hook. The receiver works fine, on another phone, the phone has had its firmware flashed, and again, the phone wroks fine using the speakerphone. THANKS! I hope you don't have too many of those. we bought 80 of them for our office, and I'm sure that 20 of them have already had problems with their off-hook sensor. Even phones that have worked good in the past are now starting to fail. I hear aprox. 1 new phone failure report each week. Now that our phones are off warranty, I've had to ship them straight to Aastra. They recently repaired 7 of them for me for $25 each. Now I'll just wait and see if the fix is really a fix or if they are going to fail again. I dealt with Linda at Aastra: Linda Berendt lbere...@aastra.com Needless to say, we're not buying Aastra phones anymore. We're pretty happy with Polycom phones right now. Re: [asterisk-users] Aastra 480i repair?
Actually, I have a bunch of the 480i's and like them much better than any of the Polycom phones I have. The screen is MUCH easier to read, the phones, while def not as solid, are much easier to navigate for my end-users and make changes to. IMO, of course... But thanks LOADS for that info. $25 to repair. I could KILL fonality, but what else is new :) hope you don't have too many of those. we bought 80 of them for our office, and I'm sure that 20 of them have already had problems with their off-hook sensor. Nope they all share the same extensionif you want independent wireless handsets and you don't want to use WiFi phone, you'd have to look at Aastra's SIP DECT product, or Kirk, or something along those lines. [asterisk-users] Aastra 480i CT - No Incoming Calls
I just bought an Aastra 480i CT for a client who needed cordless capabilities in their office. I'm trying to set up the base station and cordless handset in my office first. I'm able to connect the phone to my Asterisk box and make outgoing calls from either the base station or the handset - to extensions within my office as well as numbers outside the network. But I can't receive calls on either the base station or the handset. All of the calls go strait to voice mail. I've never had this problem with the phones I use in my office - Linksys SPA942. (just checking) - What does sip show peers say (in on-hook mode, is the phone correctly registered to asterisk?) - What does the CLI show when you call the phone from another extensions, with verbose somewhere around 10? - Might NAT have to do with it? Something special with the network socket you use for the phone? - You have a recent firmware on it, I guess. Better check that anyway. [asterisk-users] Aastra 480i freezes
I realized today after much playing around that the Aastra 480i phone (I'm assuming the others as well), will freeze and can be reproduced if all of the following is true: 1. You enable auto answer in the configurations 2. You call from an Aastra phone to another Aastra phone using the alertinfo that auto answers the phone. 3. You hangup and then try using a softbutton programmed as a speeddial, the phone freezes right then. If I put canreinvite=no in sip.conf, then all is fine. Also even when not using auto answer, the phone will freeze after just a few phone calls if canreinvite=yes. Has anybody else seen this problem? I would realy like to disable reinvites. I had the same issue, phone was working fine but 'sip show peers' didn't show any phone registered. The reason was no sip registrar server was given in the config or in web UI. For aastra phones, you need to specify proxy and registrar servers separately. So in aastra.cfg, you need to enter the following: sip line1 registrar ip: phone.pbzinc.loc sip line1 registrar port: 5060 ___ --Bandwidth and Colocation provided by Easynews.com -- asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

[Asterisk-Users] Aastra 480i CT - multiple lines?
I just set up an Aastra 480i CT with separate registrations on my Asterisk server. The way I set it up is Line 1 on the phone is registered to 101 on the server and Line 3 is registered to 103. If Line 1 is being used and a call comes in on 101, it rings to Line 2. But, if Line 3 is being used and a call comes in on 103, the phone responds Busy Here. [Asterisk-Users] Aastra 480i
I have an Aastra 480i that used to have firmware 1.0.0... on it. I got the new 1.3 firmware and had the phone fetch that from my TFTP server, but after running about 15s, it stops. No more downloading, no response to WebGUI, no response to buttons, nothing. I rebooted it (not a good idea, I know) and it complained that there was no application and tried to reload from tftp server again. Same thing happened. So I tried the firmware for the 480i CT IP phone, but that did the same thing. The little wheel spins on the display when it boots but it stops when the download stops. Anyone have any advice? I just want the firmware in there, I am happy to manually configure the phone with the UI... -- -M There are 10 kinds of people in this world: Those who can count in binary and those who cannot. ___ --Bandwidth and Colocation provided by Easynews.com -- Asterisk-Users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

[Asterisk-Users] AASTRA 480i Firmware 1.2.0.162 SIP ALERT_INFO problems
The ALERT_INFO variable works for 480i firmwares 1.2.1.207 and up (like the 1.2.5-series). Set it like in the example below: exten=_*55XXX,1,SetVar(ALERT_INFO=info=alert-autoanswer) exten=_*55XXX,2,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN:3},12,Ttr) (*55 will be the prefix for the normal phone number; if a single digit is used --or anything of a different length-- adjust the slicing of the ${EXTEN}, like ${EXTEN:1} for a single digit) The 'info=alert-autoanswer' is the only value that seems to do something. [Asterisk-Users] AASTRA 480i Firmware 1.2.0.162 SIP ALERT_INFO problems
I have been playing with a 480i with the new firmware 1.2.0.162I hope to get some form of paging intercom function to work. In the wiki someone post that ALERT_INFO type of paging might be in this version of firmware but I have been unable to find anything on this yet. I have tried sending the ALERT_INFO to the phone a number of ways with no results. I then hooked up my bt100 and tried to dial my "page" extension and then I started to see 403 error reporting on the bt100 using sip debug it looks like the 480i is returning the 403 message. Am not sure if this is telling me that ALERT_INFO is not doing anything for now in the 480i or if I just don't know what string to send to the phone in the ALERT_INFO message. I assume that ALERT_INFO is just not set up to do anything with the 480i for now. But I was hoping someone else might know or have had luck with getting ALERT_INFO messages with the 480i working. [Asterisk-Users] Aastra 480i
Hi, I have an Aastra 480i running with Asterisk. I can make local and long distance calls on it no problem, but if I dial a number where another phone system is involved and I need to punch in some numbers, this is no go! I can hit all the numbers on the phone that I want and nothing happens. This doesn't happen with a Snom phone or X-lite so this rules out problems with everything EXCEPT the 480i. Anyone else have this problem or know a possible solution? Thanks. ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
[Asterisk-Users] Aastra 480i and Telnet - anyone know how to log in?
I noticed that the Aastra 480i has a telnet interface, but the login is different than the web. Anyone know how to log into the telnet interface? Is the interface documented anywhere? Is the interface documented anywhere? You need to use a telnet client program to communicate with the device. Under Windows you simply open a command window and type: telnet IP address or hostname to connect to the telnet server (the device you want to communicate with). BTW if you type telnet into Google you get a good explanation of what telnet is, also links to better telnet clients than the standard Windows one (though it should work fine for what you want). Re: [Asterisk-Users] Aastra 480i and Telnet - anyone know how to log in?
Just to clarify, I know how to use telnet - what I'm looking for is the username/password pair I need to access the phone via telnet, and hopefully some documentation on what I can access via telnet. I am particularly interested in using the interface to reset the phone remotely.
