Transformers is imho their best sinse the lead is a little off in pokemon, though the tmnt one is good as well. funnily enough me being a big whovian, the Dr. who one slightly disappointed me mostly because I think they couldve done more in terms of weerd sounds to simulate the various synths.

OK, just a bit off topic, but its really importent when your adding me to skype. When im added to skype, I expect to be treeted as a normal gamer. Asking questions like what slj and assault_freak did are allowed, but what I do not like is A questions every 30 seconds when I barely had time to answer the last one, and B repeated questions when I have already answered something 20 times, such as in the case of something me and my beta team are discussing. If the answer is in the comments and you are in the dropbox and I say read it, please do, dont make me repeat it 100 times, because it not only slows down development and I really hate alt tabbing constantly, but it also places stress on me. I have already blocked the person responcible for doing this after I repeated this exact thing 20 times, but just wanted to make it clear for anyone else adding me to skype that I expect to be treeted as one of you, not as an all powerful game dev. Thank you, and now we will return 
 to topic.

Connor: Noone are going to flip out, if people have some good arguments. I totally understand your situration. Ive also been there, before paying over the internet was normal here in Denmark, back in 2002 or so. My parents was scared to use their credid card over the internet, and I totally understood why. But I really wanted all those games so badly, so I used more than one year to tell them that this will become normal, nothing was going to happen etc. and they got more and more used to this. Before I got my own credit card, my parents got used to pay for things over the internet, which Im sure they are proud of now.  So I do understand where youre comming from. This fight is not easy, but keep fighting dude.

I think in a way the term credit card is a bit unhelpful in this context. Back in the 90s, credit cards were basically all about the lones. There were hundreds and hundreds of adds trying to get people to have credit cards, buy stuff and borrow money and then of course have to pay it back at ridiculous interest. Anyone remember all those adverts that had slogans like dont pay a thing for three years! The fact is that the uses of credit cards and the financial landscape has changed significantly. I have never once myself been over drawn with my credit card sinse whenever I make a payment on it, I just hop down the road to the bank and pay it streight off,n indeed they try to keep giving me a larger lending limit on my credit card and telling me how good my credit rating is, but because of the security thing Im always asking them to put it down. The point here is that to so
 meone who doesnt know about the internet and the necessities for a credit card, saying I want a credit card sounds a hell of a lot like I want to start borrowing lots of money which is obviously not the case. Even though i was Twenty myself when I got a credit card, and had had my own bank account for a fair while before that my parents still warned me about getting in debt at the time and I did have to patiently explain that I didnt actually want the card to buy anything for which I didnt currently have the money.Id actually suggest a meeting with the bank and your parents about this, sinse it is entirely possible that if you explain what you want the card for to the bank they can explain it to your parents, heck they could even put a limit on your spending on the card if necessary, say if the balance is ever lower than 100 usd the card gets in
 validated and your parents get a letter. As I said, I think its more about miss understanding what the card is for, and just how regularly theyre used these days for different things than the original purpose of having saps borrow huge great wodges of cash and get in horrible debt .

well, You are unable to do anything until they stop stunning you. but I think you can say things. I remember getting stunned twice in one day. and I told this person that somebody had stolen my freighter and i had no money to pay. Not to turn anybody off the game or anything. but if you generally watch the channels and stuff, they wont attack you. and i recommend joining an organisation. I remember somebody had destroyed a bunch of our currier ships, so me and the organisation devised a plan to give the battlecruiser that had attacked us a bounty.

but apart from that, for the most part, I have been left alone. just haul roids, salvage debris or whatever, and people should leave you alone. and when you see a battlecruiser, generally, stay silent and be prepared to either jump out of the sector, or if you cant do that, then land on a planet. and dont give in to what they say.

Connor, First off you should be almost exclusively using scrolls by this point, which will help. Second, use Kelly as your main character for a while and wander around one of the towers and battle with her. She will get coins from winning which you can use to upgrade her defense. Her defense is so cheap at first that you can probably buy a point after every battle or two for the first several points.

Youre right on ports.What kind of game are we talking about? Are you trying to do Swamp or are you trying to do something like Core Exiles? In the former case, you dont even use HTTP; HTTP is not really built for swamp-style gameplay. Its actually worth noting that swamp isnt as online as you think: you are seeing different zombies than everyone else, for example.And as for all this interconnection, if its a browser game like Kingdom of Loathing, you only need Django. Nothing more. Django does everything necessary for that.Swamp-like games are a whole different thing. You typically use a custom desktop client and a hand-written server, not the browser. Especially for audiogames, given the poor state of Webaudio-only Chrome has a full implementation, but nothing else on windows does.When we get into games that talk to web sites, theres two or three ways that Ive seen. Y
 ou can do what youre thinking and write an HTTP web-based API, but this is overkill. You can have the game write to a database and have the web site read from that database (probably the most common and what Id do). You can use something like Websockets to allow the web site to ask the game directly for the info. Pick 2 or 3, not 1. If the game is something like KoL, just make the game the web site and dont worry about talking back and forth between 3 apps. You seem to have a tendency to bring in way too many pieces.I can talk a bit about how things like swamp work, if thats the kind of info youre looking for. Aprone can probably say more, but we have different programming philosophies: Id never, ever settle for the kind of tricks Swamp uses to get around network limits and would much prefer something fully shared, where everyone sees the same thing always. This is what I am working towards with my b
 log articles and Libaudioverse (because why do it with less than the optimum audio experience?). I think that I can, but am probably a year or so out from it.Muds use TCP to transport data and speak the Telnet protocol on top of it. Theres not much to say about telnet. Its just another protocol, only this time its for talking about how wide your screen is and what youre typing at the mud clients input bar.The tutorials on how the web works dont really exist anymore. You can find them, but everyone seems to start off by hammering on Apache config files and the like until they work. Most people do not care about how HTTP works, and just want it to draw a smiley face or whatever. Typically, thats picked up a bit later, and developing a mud makes it happen faster (because Muds do not speak HTTP there are not many frameworks that hide it all away like Django). Keep in mind that the
  Django tutorials make Django look easy, but that it doesnt stay that way-it would be accurate to say that Django is probably the easiest approach I know, but theres a difference between easiest and simple. If you really want to know the gritty and very technical details, there are official specifications you can read for all of it (I had occasion to look at the TCP spec exactly once. I would never do that again). Most helpful, though, is googling http introduction or similar-there are some out there if you look explicitly for them.And finally, keep in mind that the internet is not like normal software. A bunch of different people worked on it all at the same time and all without close collaboration. Then, in the 70s and 80s, we started linking all of them together; in the 90s, the web browser became popular and the internet exploded; in the 2000s, we started having a huge explosion of games that, by now, blow World of Warcraft o

Hi.Yep, Im running this on a mac using vmware fusion inside of a Windows XP guest.So, I should level to level 50?hmmm, I guess its worth a try.I wouldnt doubt the issue was coming from the slight delay in the VM.I honestly dont notice a delay when Im using Windows, but I guess its really small; probably small enough to mess me up with the timing of dragon strike scroll beeps.Its weird because I can cast other scrolls nearly perfectly.I think its just me not being prepared for the beep and then hitting the key half a second later.I dont know.

Connor, first make sure you have a cook. Second make sure you have food stocked in your tavern. If you dont have enough peasants moving supplies around, they might not be stocking the tavern as fast as people are cleaning it out. People stopping to eat at a tavern require a cook to prepare the food.If you have checked both of those, the next thing to consider is distance. If a builder is hungry, but not hungry enough to go eat just yet, they could be doomed by being sent on a very long distance task. Lets say youre building some new place that is several tiles away, and your hungry builder starts off on his long journey. His health will continue to lower so he could starve to death before making it back. A distance of 5 or 6 tiles can be a pretty long walk for your people, so always be mindful of building spacing as youre constructing your town.If your people are being fed multiple types of food, it makes th
 em far more resistant to long trip starvation. Each of the 4 food types (meat, bread/cake, wine, and vegetables) energizes your people in a separate health bar. The person will stop to eat if any of those health bars gets below 25%, to try and refill it. Even sending a hungry person halfway across the map then gives them multiple health bars to draw from, keeping them alive for much much longer, so that they can finish their job and grab a big lunch upon their return. In the first stage she has very low defense but hits very hard, so just strike with a powerful scroll because you want to get this stage over with fast.The second time her attack isnt so bad but shes very defensive. Most of your attacks will do only 1 damage so unless youve got a very powerful scroll just use your knife to beet it fast (dice dont work).Third time shes a little more well-rounded. The fourth and last round is the tricky one. Shes preparing to self-destruct which takes 5 turns. Just defend all 5 times and shell blow herself up without harming you.

Find a door on your right. Go in and search for the coffee cup. Dont delay, shortly thereafter is an event that renders that area permanently obstructed.

I dont have much significant to contribute, as, having been a character for almost 2 years, still with newbie status because I literally have such little time to play, I can say that silence is typically a good thing. I remember, a long time ago, someone asking on General Communication for a pilot to gun on a mission. I said yes, asked where to go, explained ICly that I had graduated from pilot school (in-character speak for a newbie) and was off. There are times of immaturity; a lot of the less than savory characters, for instance, had fun laughing their heads off at my surname, for instance, but overall, from my 14 or so hours (in total) connected, I can say that its really not terrible, so long as you basically keep to yourself.There also exists a self-defense handbook, which I read awhile back, which discusses...Self-defense. Obviously! But one of the things they mention is self-destructing, and how, in t
 he worst case scenario, it is advisable to destroy your own ship. Better to kill it yourself than to let some no-good thief steal (or destroy) your ship.So, Dark, maybe give it a shot. And stick to yourself mostly, that seems to be the best way to keep out of trouble. Thats kind of sad, really, since outspoken chatter and free speech would be fun to participate in, however, it apparently just makes you a target.

So Django is a http only framework? That doesnt make any sense, because django is just the receiver on the server isnt it? So couldnt I just tell it to except a packet of info that says:codename = frastlinscore = 92005/codeand once those 2 lines of code are received by django on the server, cant I then take those values and post them in a score-board?I wish to make a score-board first, something like what entombed has.I dont think I need all the headers that http uses, I just need my custom lines of code. There isnt one defined way to do that.Regarding http and Django, it would be more difficult to handle it in a non-http mannor.Like you said, there are a few options.1: A custom server side program that can receive incoming connections and sort them into the scoreboard as required.2: A php file that receives an http request with standard parameters like score.php?name=bobscore=12345.The main issue here is the security of it. These programs are generally easy to hack if you have the ability to view a programs network traffic, etc.

Guess they didnt think their deal with Microsoft very well, because Microsofts discontinued their support and all clients now no longer work.Regular skype is so massively clunky and needlessly complicated I might just stop using it altogether.

Actually, FPcC (the free pascal compiler) supports turbo pascal with the -Mtp command line option, or the {$mode tp} compiler directive.
