Hi Sebby. Well we wont have the upgrading os discussion again. You seem to think its my responsability to upgrade without being abandoned, I think its these stupid companies responsability to give me what I want, ever heard the phrase the customer is always right? Had I known Itunes 12 was such a steaming pile of shite I wouldnt have bothered with it, indeed I only use Itunes as atransfer system for audio.thanks for the download, though I do wonder what you mean by script heavy I dont want to get into jail breaking or the like, I just want the same version of Itunes I had before yesterday morning, indeed the same version I still have on my laptop.I am quite prepared to remove all application data and Itunes related stuff from my machine, that is fairly easy to do.

Re: A really good Dr. who related Youtube series

The problem Cx2 is that there isnt much after! first contact. I havent seen insurrection for years, and nemesis was hardly a superlative trek film, (I only have a copy because a friend of mine hated it so much he gave it me for nothing) , so usually when I think of tng I think of the tv series. Indeed, to be honest first contact has some nice bits, but I really dislike the way Picard is suddenly an action hero and the fact that the borg seemed so useless that an entire cube is blown up and theyre stoaways on the enterprise for the entire film. The Queen had her moments as a villainess, especially her interactions with data, but I always preferd the Borg as a faceless collective, it was one of the things that made them so scary. The two parter reintroducing the cybermen in New who series 2, though it was rather stretched out and had some issues did have a nice idea on this, sinse when a cyber leader is blown up you see a normal cyberman j
ust bend down and download the files of the dead leader, turning his jug handles black and making him the new cyber leader. Indeed there the cyber leader was essentially not distinguished from standard cybermen at all, just the central component in a system.I actually think the design of the new cybermen was quite correct, huge, clomping and metallic, and definitely not human, even if they have been sort of reduced to rent a villain status, and the emotional weakness plot has been so over used it seems all you need to do to defeat the cybermen is start crying :d.

Why bother? Im the only one losing out in the end. My Windows VM is XP too, I miss it dearly, and I wish it could go on forever. But it cant, and as long as Microsofts development tools, some Apple software and other useful utilities are abandoning that platform, its getting easier and easier to just maintain Win7 (and OS X, of course) than to stick with XP. Re: A really good Dr. who related Youtube series

Well Ive now watched the forest episode, so here come the spoilers of spoilery spoilingness. I really enjoyed the start to this one and the initial idea. A little girl running through a forest in a red coat looking for the Doctor and then telling the Doctor the forest was really London. I was thinking future earth, transport across space or various other fun things, indeed it reminded me strongly of a bit from the impossible planet where Peri finds a ruined underground station in a forest on a planet that turns out to be earth. Also, huge credit for the writer in having a teaser (and something of a first half), that involved the Doctor needing to investigate a situation and not cutting between god knows how many locations one after another to show the supposed travels before the episode. The problem though is the longer this went on the worse it got. While Mave wasnt quite as depressingly wooden as Chloe from Fear her, lost little girl with amazing p
sychic powers, she wasnt exactly riviting, neither did her powers really get explained much, indeed I wasnt sure whether the golden glowy insect things were her mind, were the trees communicating or what. While were on the subject of Mave, it also seemed a lot of the time the writer didnt know what to do with her. one minute shes chatting to the doctor about the Tardis like an adult in one of the more fun bits (I loved her, well I thought it was supposed to be bigger on the inside), the next shes running off for no reason. Likewise why the heck was she supposed to be running off in terror with the Doctor and Clara following but leaving a trail for them? The plot seemed to be going more and more contrived as time went on, though ill forgive the wild zoo animals for amusement value, however the solar flare just dragged out as if the writer had run out of ideas, indeed I didnt get why The Doctor, someone who has p
reviously closed off gates to alternative universes, shot down planet destroying missiles and asteroids, piloted spaceships or used the tardis to redirect the energy of black holes was so helpless and fatalistic about the solar flare. I will give the writer credit for the setup of flame proof forest, but really it wouldve been better if the Doctor had! been going to do something about the flare but been prevented. While Clara didnt come across as quite as insufferable as usual (if you dont count danny pink), the Doctor was pretty useless, indeed if you look at the events here pretty much the same thing wouldve played out had the Doctor been completely absent. Now, onto the really! bad bit. And Danny, was it just me or did he come across as the kind of teacher you always really hated, the sort who kept trying to persuade you how cool he was, particularly with how he only seemed to actually interact with two of the kids, depressed girl and anger management boy who went from bully to sympathy so quick I thought he was schizophrenic. Re: Itunes no longer accessible, please help

Well obviously all the development stuff doesnt apply to me, so as Ive said Im sticking with xp until something better comes along which would justify me learning a newer (and more annoying), interface, using an xp vm for the stuff that microsoft have abandoned. Ditto with Itunes 11, heck, I only started using Itunes to transfer audio onto my Iphone anyway. Glad the Script you meant was _javascript_, and I appreciate the direct download, thanks for that. Im still on my laptop at the second, (which still has Itunes 11 on it), but will fix the program as soon as I get back to my desktop. I know sometimes I do come across like a nianderthol with technology, but it is not! that I am anti upgrades generally. I do suspect Ill be upgrading to Ios 8 in the future (Im just waiting a few versions until the vo bugs are worked out), and Ill likely be buying an Iphone 6 as I liked some of the feature list. Im actual

However, sinse as I said I just want Itunes for audio transfer, if I cant find my playlist on my Iphone, create new ones and copy audio files across from my pc, Itunes is no good!

Re: Accessible Board and Card Games!

Interesting, I just have a couple of questions. First, what sort of games do you have? Ive always fancied playing some of the casual fantasy board games like talisman or tokio battle, but obviously they arent accessible. The only board games Ive heard of tactile versions of are monopoly, chess, Backgammon, Snakes and Ladders, Scrabble and Ludo.Second, you say you have two versions one with a more minimal braille setup requiring sighted assistance. Does the one with the larger amount of braille still involve print? or is it braille only, or do you mix and match. For example in braille monopoly, there are two sets of cards for each street, one set in print but with braille headings of the street names, and one in braille with print headings so that the banker (whether she/he is blind or not), can give players the correct version. Chance and community chest cards are also written in both forms. So, is this how the games work in access ter
ms? Any further information would be appreciated.

The plot seemed to be going more and more contrived as time went on, though ill forgive the wild zoo animals for amusement value. however the fairy tale business had to be made blatant (just in case someone didnt get it), the solar flare just dragged out as if t
he writer had run out of ideas, indeed I didnt get why The Doctor, someone who has previously closed off gates to alternative universes, shot down planet destroying missiles and asteroids, piloted spaceships or used the tardis to redirect the energy of black holes was so helpless and fatalistic about the solar flare. Now, onto the really! bad bit. What is it with Danny pink? All he seemed to do this episode was run around saying please, think of thee children link hellen loveoy from the Simpsons. I defin
itely approve of a male character being the one involved with looking after kids, but really what is wrong with the man! When the Doctor offered at the end of the episode to let him, and the kids, and Clara watch the solar flare and Danny was oh no, stay here yech! In the past The Doctor always hated that sort of closed minded attitude, especially with kids, look at the 9th Doctor with dickins.I actually find this a worrying tendency, to turn around and say look exploring the universe and marveling at things is wrong, just go and indulge in your little domestic family life with your kidsies and your social media its almost the antithesis of what Doctor who always was. And Danny, was it just me or did he come across as the kind of teacher you always really hated, the sort who kept trying to persuade you how cool he was, particularly with how he only seemed to actually interact with two of the kids, depressed girl and anger management boy wh
o went from bully to sympathy so quick I thought he was boardering on schizophrenic. Over all no where near as good as Matheson, making the Doctor quite useless and making me dislike Danny pink even more, despite some nice ideas. And the less said about the treacle factor the better. I love emotional episodes if done well and there have been points of new who were Ive really been invested and quite affected but I hate being dragged through the syrup just for the sake of it, and this episode was pretty bad for that. Why the hell did they have to run into Maves sister at the end? What happened to you know, bad things happening and people having to cope? This is Doctor Who, not disney, (and even Disney has indulged in dark on occasions, Nemo, Lion King, Bamby etc). Not only does everybody live, all of the time, despite monsters or things that quite literally go bump in the night but arent anything to be scared of, but also any tragedy is redre
ssable! Now I think about it, this is probably why I hate the treacle, sinse if you want me to be emotional and full of wonder and sadness and happiness, well give me some actual dark stuff

Re: Itunes no longer accessible, please help

Yeah, I do appreciate and sympathise with your position. If Apple werent so obviously intent on looking after their own skins, theydve developed a better protocol for transferring stuff to the device which made the media manager optional. iTunes 11.4 works with iPhone 6/6+ and still runs on XP, and yes those iPhones are a terrific upgrade, and actually worth the money, as opposed to iTunes which really isnt. iTunes interface works for me as of about version 10; in 11 they made some changes which could be reverted and it wasnt until you reverted that you realised how much better the old way was (something Apple never seems to consider when designing its software, for some reason). With iTunes 12 though, its purely bull, and theres no going back, and no obvious reason to go forward. However, it is (still) 100% accessible, and the new way is simply less robust and efficient. Not having a sidebar is good for me on Mac since I dont have t
o interact with that to get to the things I need, and its still better than sidebarless iTunes 11, but it sucks badly for WinDoze users since they have to tab--arguably a problem with Windows, I might suggest, but its still irresponsible of Apple to have removed the sidebar.

Re: Accessible Board and Card Games!

2014-10-28 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : Joseph Westhouse via Audiogames-reflector

Re: Accessible Board and Card Games!

Dark,Good questions. Youre right, there arent many accessible board games - which is part of why were doing this. Whenever we get a game, we have to figure out how to make it accessible...so why not share that knowledge (and the labor of making the necessary modifications) with the world? I guarantee it can be done - sometimes it just requires thinking outside the box. One of our favorite games is a massive fantasy adventure board game called Middle-earth Quest...the game is beautiful, and takes up about our entire dining room table. It took a lot of work, but now my wife and I play it regularly, either just the two of us, or with friends, and my gameplay experience is the same as everyone elses, except for occasionally having to ask a question about something on the board (which could be remedied with a lot more work that just isnt necessary for us).So anyway, if you visit the shop you can see what we curre
ntly offer, but I can tell you right now: we have currently listed Clue, Apples to Apples, Story Wars (a lighthearted fantasy-themed party game of making stuff up), Uno, and regular playing cards. We have also brailled our personal copy of Citadels, another fantasy card game of strategy and resource management, but havent listed it yet.But like I said, were just getting started, and were always looking for new inventory to add. So I will definitely check out Talisman and Tokyo battle and see if they could be made accessible/what work would need to be done...and if you have a specific request, you can always submit it directly through the shop. We cant make any guarantees - there are some games that will always be inaccessible...but Ive found that we can make a way for almost any card or board game to be playable.Regarding your second question - with our current listings, there hasnt been a need to have separate prin
t and braille cards, because we simply braille directly on the cards. Our technique is to put identifying information in braille on the card, and then (if necessary) include supplemental information in a digital text document. So for example, in Apples to Apples, you have noun cards which contain a word, but then the card also has flavor text that isnt required for gameplay, but can be pretty entertaining. So we braille the word on the card, and then include a document containing the flavor text for all the cards if you want/need to reference it. This works best for games like Apples to Apples, where all players draw from a communal pile - if you had separate braille and print versions of each card, the gameplay would be broken. However, for instances where this wouldnt be an issue, wed be open to brailling separate cards...just know that itd drive the price up a little bit.Im curious - how does braille M
onopoly handle the community Chest / Chance issue? You cant have two identical decks, one braille and one print, and just have the blind players draw from the braille deck, as that would give them the possibility of drawing a card thats already been drawn from the sighted deck.Oh, that gives me an opportunity to expand on the fully accessible versions. So, if we were to make a braille Monopoly, we would offer two versions. One would not have braille on any of the Chance/Community Chest cards, because there is no secret information on these cards, nor is there information blind players need to reference frequently - in other words, they could draw their card and simply have a sighted player read it aloud, without in any way affecting the fairness or balance of the gameplay. However, we would also offer a fully-accessible version (more expensive because of the added time it takes to prepare), wherein these cards would be brailled
so that a party of blind players could enjoy the game without any sighted help.Hope that sufficed to answer your questions. Sorry that it was a bit rambling...honestly the specifics will vary from game to game. Feel free to ask any more questions you may have!

Hi,Press NVDA + 5 to turn on report dynamic content changes, then open up a command line prompt in run by typing cmd, and let me know if your NVDA starts reading it.From there, itll be easier to run a batch file which I can get you, or I could create one for you based on your needs, such as which format, quality you want, etc. Whatll be good about that batch file is you just put it in the same folder as youtube-dl and its dependancies and you just run it through explorer. Youll have to use a text file called urls.txt but all you do is put the videos you want in there, or even channels and playlists.

Ive just started being able to do some good against them but not in great numbers, and only because I got some skill boosts from joining the mercenaries. Just as a note though marksmanship is a general ranged skill that gives a boost to all ranged weapon attacks, similarly melee works for melee attacks so Id separate them out from the usual weapon skills.Ive been using a glaive but Im thinking of switching to swords, the idea appeals to me that I can swap between a large double handed sword and a single handed sword plus a torch or shield should I ever need to.

Re: Audio Defence: Zombie Arena -- From the Creators of Papa Sangre 2

October 28th, 2014 We are really proud to announce that we are soon going to release our new game: Audio Defence: Zombie ArenaIt has all the cool stuff you’d want in a zombie game, but is quite unlike anything you’ve ever played before. Unless you played our last game Papa Sangre II, which was Metacritic’s iOS game of the year 2013 (and had Sean Bean doing voice over). We see it as the quicker, dirtier successor to Papa Sangre II. We’ve kept the horror and immersion, but chucked out almost everything else in favour of SPEED AND FURY so you can just pick up and play. You are the Blind Warrior, trapped in Dr Bastard’s arenas, forced to fight off wave after wave of his zombies. As you progress you’ll need to master the Pistol, the Sawn-off Shotgun, the Hunting Rifle, the Machine Gun, the Bazooka, the Grenade Launcher and the Sonic Cannon, among others. If the zombies get too close you’ll have to resort to a range of melee weapons … a Wok, a Banjo, some Golf Clubs, a Cattle Prod and a Claymore. Reassuring? It will be quite unlike any zombie game you’ve played before. The zombies and playing environment are all rendered in high fidelity binaural sound. There are no graphics to represent them. You can only hear them, which is why gameplay is so immersive. Because the sound is binaural (3D audio), using only ordinary headphones you actually hear the zombies in the world all around you, and you are situated right in the middle of the game. It’s like AR* for the EAR. Oculus thrift. This game has no In App Purchase – everything you need to complete the game, is available within the game itself. How long will you survive? That is up to you and your aural shooting skills…Did we mention that the evil Dr Bastard will do anything in his power to entertain its crowd, even if it means throwing you to the mercy of lurching zombies? We are a few days away from release now.. your patience will be reward Blind Warrior.

I havent made anything yet, but I think you can just put in placeholder images for the defaults. You dont need pictures at all.If you have any ideas, you can either:1. ask the developer to add a feature (I asked him to switch to accessible_output and he told me he is looking into it).2. add a feature yourself. You can totally make anything just about with this engine, you have direct access to python from the scripting language.

Re: Seeking Blind or Visually Impaired Alpha Testers

Hi Brad:Greatly appreciate the effort youve made! The client you’ve been interacting with is the standard GUI with all the usual bells and whistles. It coverts a data stream coming from the game world into a format which browsers can display, and does some programming tricks to make that text scroll when received. Weve made a sincere effort to make that interface as accessible as possible, but the scrolling text is a problem, as you’ve experienced. That UI implements the WAI-ARIA Live Regions specification, but we’ve found that the different browser and screen reader vendors interpret that differently from each other, so that so far we haven’t been able to make it a consistently happy experience across different screen readers. Thus the new interface we’re now alpha testing, which has no GUI elements aside from a single text field to enter commands into. After that, the UI speaks the game data and it’s very much more straightforward - no menus, buttons, scrolling text or other impediments. So far, our alpha testers have been excited about the talking UI. The UI itself is so simple that theres not much to say about it, so, were working with the alpha group more on how to adapt the game world itself to be as voice friendly as possible. For instance, historically TriadCity has interacted with users browsers to open new windows and present additional content visually. So we need to sort out those interactions. And, we need to ensure weve comprehensively made command-line equivalents for all GUI controls available and straightforward - which is a bit involved when players are customizing their houses and things like that. The talking technology currently works perfectly on Safari on the Mac. The other browsers dont yet get it right. Thats why the alpha test is limited for now. Soon as the other browsers catch up, well invite the rest of the world. One final note. The talking UI currently being tested is itself a half-way step toward a fully verbal interface which can be used on mobile devices as well as in browsers. Hi frastlin, I think we crossed messages just now as I was responding to Brad.Ill study up on the libraries you mention. The downside to the way our technology works is that the game world is continually pushing information to the players computers. The clients are smart clients which handle natural language processing and other tasks, which is important to helping our system handle all the heavy computation it needs to do - theres a *lot* of artificial intelligence processing in this game world. Anyway, because game events are continually being pushed to the clients, the natural way to represent that in GUIs has been with scrolling text inside graphical windows. This is the problem weve faced in trying to adapt to the needs of screen readers. Even with the Live Regions specification, we havent yet been able to make the experience identical or easy across platforms and brow
sers.Plus, we really think the new UI paradigm is a far better one for blind or non-GUI users. And I think in the long run, a really interesting paradigm for all users of mobile devices. So thanks again! Soon as the talking technology is happy on Windows Ill post an update.--Mark

Instead of trying to hack all that to get the GUI working with screen readers, weve decided to take a step back and rethink the whole concept of how sightless players might interact with a textual virtual world. Since the computing world is rapidly moving away from desktops, to smart phones and tablets, we hope this turns out to be an intelligent long-term strategy for making a textual virtual world accessible to all players, sighted and blind alike. Re: Accessible Board and Card Games!

Hi Joseph. This does sound like a familiar process my parents and I did it for years and brailled such games as compatibility, various custom card games, and even at least in part atmosphere, though that one would have required custom braille and print cards to work sinse the cards themselves were too small to get all the braille on and often required specific instructions. Talisman is a little harder because you have the central board, various cards with instructions, and then a hole bunch of extra board sections you can slot around the sides. Its something my brother and his friends play often and Ive always fancied doing so, indeed there is currently sort of a major industry in fantasy board games, not as complex as miniature war games but still with sort of an rp element. As to braille monopoly, well the chance and community chest cards have both print and braille on them. Im not exactly sure why they didnt do this with the ca
rds for each property, maybe it is because the braille rent values are larger than the print ones, or maybe its just so that sighted players who are keeping the cards for the properties they own dont have the issue of the braille text.

Re: Accessible Board and Card Games!

Yeah, Settlers of Catan really started a new wave in independent, high-quality nerdy games. Which I have no problem with ^_^With something like Talisman, what wed probably wind up having to do is putting the basic reference information on the card in braille, and then the card instructions in a separate document that would be accessible with a screen reader. (Thats assuming that the cards are drawn from a communal pile, making separate print and braille decks an invalid option). So for example, in Middle-earth Quest, there are Shadow cards that have a certain cost, and specific effects/requirements for activation. I have the name and cost brailled on the shadow cards, and then go to my document and find the shadow card with that name to read the effect/requirements, since those wouldnt fit on the card. Its not the most streamlined solution, but it is the best one weve found that allows me to
play without anybody knowing whats in my hand, and without giving anyone an unfair advantage or disadvantage. And of course, now I rarely refer to the document because I have all the effects committed to memory. As for the pieces of the board that get added on, how wed address that sort of depends on the information that players will need to know - whether we add braille labels or some other tactile source of information to the board, or what. We really have to figure things out on a case-by-case basis. But it doesnt sound like itd be impossible. You always have to be prepared for a little bit of a learing curve, but at the end of the day, being able to fully participate in the game is reward enough.

That is because I am working the last big chunk of content that I planed on adding. This will take me a while, so I will try to get it up by Friday, but dont be supprised if I am unable to do so. Also I would lie to hear if you have anything you would like to see in the game. No is the time to suggest it, for after we get this new content to work, and make sure there are no bugs, I will be finished with Candy Crashers, and going back to work on Elemental Tourniment. First, let me again take this time to point out that accessible_output is not maintained but accessible_output2 is.Second, this is being way, way, way overcomplicated. Just use a terminal, print, etc. Youre going to be writing 90% of the code if youre serious about the RPG label, so youre just wasting time trying to learn these. It doesnt even matter what language-if you know that, take it and go start. It literally doesnt get easier, and there is no real shortcut here.

Re: frameworks to develop audiogames

Ruby is something I could never figure out how to distribute. Perl is something that everyone I know universally hates; I personally gave up in disgust in about an hour and Python does all the same things. The only big advantage of C# is that it is faster, but as I and others have pointed out before, theres no audiogame idea that would actually make you able to notice. To reiterate, when you start listing your performance problems, Ill start telling you about how youre using an array and shouldnt be or pointing you at libraries that can replace the slow components. A more minor advantage is size, but the sounds will dwarf everything anyway so it doesnt matter too much. I dont tink anyone here cares about SQL or Linq, being as these are the domain of business applications.C# does have a couple killer disadvantages for me. The first and biggest is that theres no command line debugger. There used
to be, but it was axed. It might be possible to use Cdb on it, but Ive not played with this and it is certainly not simple. Debugging consequently requires living inside VS; I have already shared my opinion on that. Python is also slightly more cross-platform, but only slightly. The other advantages I could list are ideological and have to do with dynamic vs. static typing as well as my personal bent towards functional programming (Pythons support for such isnt near Haskell, but its pretty darn good-list comprehensions, filter, and all that are nicely done. Itd be more accurate to say that I prefer Python because of my tendency to use functions as first-class citizens, including assigning them to variables, but this is probably way beyond where we want to go).

Re: Seeking Blind or Visually Impaired Alpha Testers

Hi. First, welcome to the forum, and thanks for the news of the game. NEw releases is for, well newly released and playable games, Alpha and betas included, so dont worry about breaking any rules, if you have any questions about the forum rules check the site faq, it can be found in the General game discussion or in Site and forum feedback. As to your thoughts and the game. I do appreciate the problem of interpreting real time text, and why this element wouldnt be naturally accessible if the text comes in on a second by second basis. however, while designing your own program and interface shows a real commitment to accessibility, I do wonder if you considered a couple of points. I cant unfortunately try the interface youve got myself as Im a windows Xp user (though when you have a version for Ios let me know), however what your talking about sounds remarkably like a mud. Muds, multi user dimentions (or dungeons i
n some older understandings), are net based text games which have existed ever sinse the bbs days. Players connect to a mud through a client program, (You can use windows telnet but its not the best option), and game text is sent and descriptions received. With a little tinkering and a few additions muds have proved some of the most accessible games available, particularly sinse most screen reader users use one of a number of customized mud clients to handle oncoming text in a quick and efficient manner. Probably the most widely played mud by Vi players is Alteraeon, see http://www.dentinmud.org/alter/ which has included huge amounts of access customizations. Perhaps You could consider outputting your text in such a way that a vi player could connect via a mud client to your games site, sinse it would probably be easier than making your own custom program to do a similar job, and also because mud clients
exist in accessibleforms for MAc, Windows and Linux. As another alternative, macromedia flash can be used to output to microsoft sapi on windows, and thus achieve a similar end to your voiceover mac interface. The disadvantage is that the quality of the synth voice will vary according to what voices the user has on his/her machine and for a decent experience a person would need a decent voice, the advantage however is no screen reader support issues and an easy mode of output. Finally, I will check your html version myself. Assuming it doesnt conflict with internet explorer, it would be interesting to see what speed the text is sent to the game sinse it is possible that the game might be playable via the standard interface and that tweaks to the standard layout might be workable. I can think of a couple of games where real time text was sent to the browser, but was at a slow enough rate to not be a problem.Of course this isnt to attempt to invalidate
what your doing, indeed I think its great that you have such a commitment to access, just some suggestions on things you might not have considered or avinues you might not have explored sinse information on accessible games isnt exactly in the public eye.

Re: Seeking Blind or Visually Impaired Alpha Testers

Hi Dark! Thank you for the thoughtful response - and I really was hoping to not break any rules!TriadCitys not a MUD, although it incorporates aspects of the MU* traditions. Its evolved to be somewhat more like Second Life, in the sense that players are able to contribute a good deal of the game world themselves. Unlike SL it has a thematic and geographical framework - I find SL off-putting for its pure cacophony among other reasons. And unlike SL its text not cartoons.Telnet clients or traditional MUD clients arent appropriate for TriadCity because of the way processing tasks are distributed between server and client. Much of the command parser for TC is in the client - this is what enables more natural styles of language while entering commands than is traditional for text-based MUDs. But also, compute-intensive tasks such as for instance 2d vector dynamics needed by chariot races are pre-computed by clients and
combined at the server, allowing a lot more arithmetic to make its way into the worlds AI than would be possible for a MUD. If youre familiar with the way SETI@Home works - its something like that.BTW were big AE fans and we frequently steer folks to AE who are looking for an accessible traditional MUD experience. Just to stress, TC is vastly different in theme, world, play style, and dynamics than AE. For one thing in TC player death is permanent - no respawns - so you need to put serious care into building characters committed to old-school MUD-like hack and slash. It can be done! But real thought needs to go into it.Thank you again, it really is a pleasure interacting here with the folks whove responded!Cheers,--Mark

Re: Seeking Blind or Visually Impaired Alpha Testers

Hi Mark. Glad you found my responses helpful. To be honest the mud suggestion was more one of interface than of processing, sinse I wasnt sure if you were aware of muds from your initial post, (though as I looked at your site and the basic faq I realized you clearly were), but I definitely follow the problem.I have looked at the standard site and I do see the issue, (I didnt have a long go but I can see combat would be pretty difficult to respond in time). I actually had a similar experience when I first discovered muds myself in 2004, and the only advice I was given was on using the screen reader Jaws, which I dont use. I attempted with Supernova, and ran into the same problem. I was only able to start on muds when a client that output to ms Sapi turned up on the scene later. On that score however, I do wonder if my sapi suggestion has merrit, sinse it seems even though from a programming perspective your game is different from a mud,
in terms of player experience and interface it is similar, indeed I can think of several examples of audio games that send text to sapi across the net. I was also quite interested to read about your company and general ethos, indeed I found your questions on the account signup quite interesting ones, so Ill be interested to see both what happens with Triad city and what else you develop at ssmart monsters.

Re: Audio Defence: Zombie Arena -- From the Creators of Papa Sangre 2

I suspect Avid gamer from the writup, yes, it will go on forever, or possibly have an endless mode, but it will also have individual missions and awards to complete meaning your not just sitting and zombie slaughtering. Hopefully the gameplay and mechanics will be enough to stop things becoming tedius however. Indeed, with it now confirmed there are no in game ap peurchices, clearly the in game currency previously mentioned needs to be earnt by zombie slaughter alone, which has a goal in itself, and after all every good game show needs big money prizes, and what better use for your big money than converting it into big, zombie slaying guns!Ill certainly be picking this up as soon as it comes out.

Hi again Dark:Ill study up on SAPI.To complicate things, along with trying hard to make a genuinely accessible UI, were also committed to adapting to general trends in the computing world. One of those is that Flash like all plugins is going way. Our UI for many years was a Java applet, which is still available for those whod rather. But as it became clear that plugins are doomed, we wrote the HTML5/JQuery UI to stay ahead of the trend. This is a roundabout way of saying were unlikely to embrace Flash. But that doesnt mean there wont be other ways to access SAPI. Have to study it to find out.Ultimately we see the future as mobile, and we do now have a strategy for adapting to that. The current talking alpha is a kind of milestone on that path. And PS you and others are right to point out the similarity of the experience to traditional MUDs. The core of the TC command language deliberately
mimics DikuMUD. But, the worlds evolution is very much in a different direction.Cheers!--M

I also installed the crypkey server from ftp://ftp.statmon.com/Public/Downloads/Utils/Crypkey/ download all those and run the setupex.exe file to install then reboot computer. anyway infovox230 will not register it gives an error. how exactly do I crack and register the abandoned infovox230 before my trial runs out? I messed up and to get another 30 days trial I had to do a system restore back to october 27th 2014. there is a product ID combo box and number of licenses combo box what do I set those to? Please help before my trial runs out in another 30 days and I have to do yet another system restore.

Pizza dude's got thirty seconds!

2014-10-28 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — AG-News room : BryanP via Audiogames-reflector

Pizza dude's got thirty seconds!

For those of you too young to have lived through the 1990s, the subject of this article is a direct quote from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie released in 1990. I thought it would be quite appropriate since the topic at hand is Pizza Delivery, the new free title from Jim Kitchen, who brought us such titles as Awesome Homer, Homer on a Harley and Puppy 1. In Pizza Delivery you take control of a pizza delivery man or woman out to, yes, you guessed it, deliver pizzas. You make your way through a city and must deliver each pizza to the specified destination in the specified time limit or as close to that as possible. Get there too late and youll lose out on tips. Bear in mind that the speed limit in this city is always 35 miles an hour, and while you can sometimes get away with going up to 40 you wont always be able to, and getting pulled over by the cops costs valuable time. And in this line of work time is money. To add to that there are all kinds of
obstacles that can come up to delay you even more. Deliver each pizza and return to the Pizza Kitchen to hear how much you earned in tips and how long your trip took. As you deliver more pizzas and earn more tips youll receive promotions in the form of newer and better vehicles. Each time you get a promotion you may be given more orders to handle at once, some with more than one pizza. Each time you quit for the day youll learn how long you worked, how much pay that earned you and how much cash youve saved up overall. As with most of Jims games, Pizza Delivery is self-voicing via Sapi. You can find it at http://kitchensinc.net under Windows Self-Voicing games. As of today version 2 has been released which fixes a few small bugs and adds even more sounds. As usual Jim delivers another simple yet addicting and challenging game well worth wasting an hour or two or more on.
