I have an overall storyline but Im not at all averse to people wanting to chip in on certain things. I have a build standard in mind, regarding tone and dialogue and all that, but Im not utterly set in stone on everything.So let me be clear. Python is probably the language to code this in? Theres been a lot of back and forth in here about using BGT or C# or Python or whatnot. Bearing in mind that a lot of the real heft of a project like this is probably going to be numeric (formulae, damage calculations, spatial awareness on a map). I dont need raw 360-degree sound output where you have to know precisely which angle something is at with relation to your own character or anything, so I probably wont need anything like vectors and such.

Well I think its crap. Id rather use stereo mix than dealing with those unlabeled sliders and those problematic edit boxes that say wrong number when theyre empty. Also, the old versions of eloquence like to put random commas. So I advice you to use stereo mix instead of this.

Hello,I think if Draconis were to release something this year, I get the feeling its going to be pretty big. My current thought is that they might aim for a simultaneous platform release for some sort of remake of one of their older titles, possibly Alien Outback or Dyna Man, or my second thought is that they might be working on something completely new to surprise us, possibly with a staggered platform release.The reason I predict this is due to the fact that their last two games were quite simple, and I still think that their engine is, in a way, being tested, thus I think another remake would be the way to go at this time, but I also think itd be awesome to get one released on iOS. I dont think theyll go the way of Bavisoft, particularly as theyve been working hard building this engine by all accounts, the fact they got it ready for mac, windows, and due to DoItWrite, I believe also iOS too, could really prove interesting for the future
 . Remember tha these devs have lives too and as weve seen, Josh has been writing, so maybe game development ahs been put aside for a little bit while he works on the book (or books?)

Just bear in mind, if I do this it wont be holding your hand every step of the way. And, to an extent, absolutely nothing substitutes for fast timing; I can beat a boss because my timing is good, but you might struggle on the same boss.Also, let me know if you guys want normal or hard mode. I havent actually noticed a difficulty spike in hard mode, and there are two extra dice...so yeah.

Id be potentially willing to do a Paladin of the Sky walkthrough/playthrough with commentary, provided the following:1. You guys generally dont mind that I will be using NVDA with an Eloquence driver for speech; I refuse to use NVDAs base voice, the one it comes with;2. You dont expect me to talk through absolutely every battle. During grind sessions or very repetitive boss fights, I might go quiet once I explain how things work;3. You can tell me how best to record a walkthrough. I have a Logitek G35 USB headset which has a good mic on it, Ive used it for Skype and such, but I literally have no idea how to record both the sound coming out of the headsets speakers and the sound going in via the mic. When it comes to recording audio, Im a complete n00b, but Im willing to learn and reasonably tech-savvy.If all of those things are true, or can be true, then Id be happy to run through the game. Id pe
 rhaps split the playthrough into chunks of anywhere from twenty to sixty minutes for easier grabbing, and I would keep inane chatter to a minimum. I could explain a bit about the more complex bosses, explain a bit of where Im getting secret items and generally make sure there arent huge long segments where Im not talking, but if you expect me to be wowed by the game and to sing its praises at every turn, I cant and wont. Any playthrough I make for any game is bound to have some sarcasm and stuff in it, thats the sort of person I am.That being said, do let me know how I might be able to record audio properly, and I will see what I can do.

Okay, so Im already stuck... LOL, so much for my amazing computing skills...So I downloaded the latest version of swam, and the Zip file was in my downloads. I pressed the aplications key on it, went to extract files and let it do the path it wanted to save to. An error appeared, saying something like the archive is an unknown filetype or damaged. i cant remember the error exactly, because Ive deleted the folder and am downloading it again, but if it happens again, Ill eddit my message.Does anyone know what Im doing wrong? One thing Ive noticed is that the S key for checking your score seems to be defunct. Though I did find something else by accident thanks to pressing the wrong key, namely D. What does D do? is that something from the debug? It talks about cars passing and You can enter in a number, so I thought it might let you generate cars or something, but that doesnt seem to be the case.Im still terribly bad at disarming the bombs...Also cant believe people have the motivation to get to level 200+. Although I dont suppose its hard when you bump up your lucky cross chance.

Okay. Look. C++ is the same speed as C on average. If your compiler makes C faster, thats the fault of the compiler and not the language. This speed difference is a myth. You can do slow things in C and you can do slow things in C++, but Ive got a sizable chunk of mathematical code that I moved from one to the other with no difference (and yes, I had a measurement program to check this).If you manage to start calling the copy constructor everywhere, yes, you will come away from it thinking that C++ is slower; in reality this is not what most programs do and you can replace much of it with const references. For C++11 specifically we now have the move constructor which, when implemented and used properly, makes returning std::vectors of millions of items nearly free.The reason for which c is still used for OSes are complicated, but basically boils down to legacy code and the fact that C compilers are about 1000x less complicated and mo
 nolithic than C++ compilers.If we want to say anything about C++ versus C in terms of speed, then we may say this. You get what you pay for. If you use copy constructors and everything from the standard library, bring in boost, and generally dont know the language well, youll pay for it in speed. But assuming that you can even find a case whereby C++ sows up as slower than C I can promise two tings: it will not matter at all and it can be optimized if it must be. @Aaron, Im not sure about the paypal donations, sinse the devs of star traders did the same thing at the time, and it worked the same way. Whether they get someone else to back donations, or whether kickstarter itself has some sort of paypal interaction I dont know, but Id be surprised if the paypal donations did not count at all, sinse what would be the point of asking people to to donate via paypal or offering the same bonuses as on the kickstarter page. Maybe the paypal money doesnt get transfered to kickstarter as quickly I dont know, but I did always assume myself that there was a way for it to be added to the total.

Hi Lauren, glad you found time to come back here, Sixthform is quite hectic but also lots of fun,  mine was, it was where I learnt to play poker in the library, quite a thing for a church school . I also did however learn about religious and political debate and of course a lot of stuff from my A levels so not all bad . the db got some mega updates in december and this month, so you should find a lot in the Database as well as news and new releases, which should provide coherent info about games like Angel gift and Slender, not to mention things like the updates to the new Rs games. In particular you might want to check the topic in general game discussion about the three monkies game. The game is an audio rpg and sounds astounding
 , but currently has a kickstarter campaign up and running, and anything you could give would be helpful, or just spread the word.Okay, plug over .

Well usually if that happens there is a button marked continue to get through the adds, I believe its somewhere at the top. I would however highly recommend paying for the extra chapters of zombie exodus because it is awsome. I also confess Ive a couple of times paid the 69 P to remove adds even in some free titles like choice of the dragon just because I find that when Ive done a double swipe to read down the hole page, vo gets interupted when the add at the bottom changes to a new one which is a bit of a hassle, though Im not sure if this is still happening on Ios 8 sinse the last choiceofgames titles I played were the heros rise games which were commercial ones anyway.

Hello,Im not surprised that Death On The Road is your most popular game so far, and I think diservedly so.I have one question about beatstar: could it be possible for us to add our own packs? If each pack is unlocked with five thousand beatcoins, cant you just have an array that calculates the packs in the folder, and adds the unlockable pack name to the shop, with a filename preview.ogg for the shop menu? I actually think this would make things very unique indeed, because once the person gives everyone their pack, everyone would then have to unlock it too!

@daigonite you dont need to fill in anything for a db entry, Ill write one up and add the info and links. One thing I do want to know however is what you would like your developer name to be, Daigonite games? Braillemon project? Just let me know what youd like listed as developer. If you dont have a snappy title in mind I could do what has been done with Aprone, ie Jeremy kaldobski (also known as Aprone), and write your name as Rachel Merryfield (also known as Daigonite), that would be fine too, I just need the information. Also as I said previously if someone could please write up some sort of starters guide about pokemon that would be very helpful, sinse not all our site visitors will necessarily be aware of the series, what power points are etc. I actually appologise for not getting this done earlier, its something Ive had in mind to do for a while, its just that trying the latest version jogged my memory
  (plus it is of course far easier to write informative descriptions about games Ive actually played).

Hello,I agree, removing the adds would be a good idea wherever possible, I fully upgraded my copy including paying for all chapters and removing the adds. The gameplay time in this one will be well worth the £5 or so it will cost for the parts. It might set you back around 10 dollars, but that will be for a game that lasts well over two hours, possibly stretching into the double figures, i.e, ten or more hours of playtime because it is so huge.

I contacted the developer, and he said that there new version of Bridge Baron does not have any testing with any screenreaders. As far as the old version, it used to work with window eyes, but thats it. I dont know if it had never been tested with JAWS, or if it just didnt work with it. I guess someone would have to buy it and play it to see if it works, but its not going to be me. The games are pretty pricey. lolSo, the newer version Bridge Baron 25 is not accessible as far as I know.Thats all I found out.

No, not a mud. More like Paladin, in that its a game with a beginning, middle and end. But I want a better story (which wont be hard), slightly more interactive maps, a much stronger combat engine (again, shouldnt be hard), story choices in certain places, and actual equipment to wear rather than just a handful of timing spells per person and coins to buy stat upgrades.

Hello, sorry for the double post, but maybe I can help you a bit in describing the ad. When I start the game,There is the info about the developer of the game and some following and sharing infos.Also shows me an email box and a sign out button I tried clicking both of these, but there were no reactions.It also shows me the show stats button, and a part of the menu in the lower part of the screen.There is no continue button. Is there a way to buy items from the game outside the game? What I mean is, can I buy for example the remove ads from a settings or options menu?Greetings Moritz.

As to a starters guide, to be honest I was thinking something a little longer, detailing battle mechanics, the differences between attack options, number of pokemon in a party, catching wild pokemon etc, but as I said this is something that can be worked on as time goes on and Ill try and put enough information on the page to let people know about the game. the idea is to have some instructions for people who arent necessarily knoligeable about the pokemon gamebplay or mechanics.

Btw oriol, I have a theory as to why quicktap is ran so much less. In roadsplat, you play a game and then you get bored so you exit the game. In run for your life, you play a game or two, then your fingers get tired so youq uit the game. In quick tap, you play a whole bunch of games without quitting. So it has fewer game runs, but people probably play about as m nay games as the other two. What do you think?

Well it depends upon if it has propper text on screen that a screen reader could read, then you could use the virtual curser to click on things, this is why I gave the games an entry even though the only testing had been with Window eyes and that was the only screen reader with maps written for it, sinse generally supernova can get on fine without maps (It certainly does with the Kchess elite games), and Nvda is quite usable as well provided a person knows the correct keys for operating the Nvda review curser.Isnt there a demo version of the game? I thought there was a playable demo.Itd be fairly easy to determine whether the game text was readable or not, sinse it depends upon how much of the game is graphical, and how much uses standard text, which would depend upon how much the interface has changed. If there isnt a demo try asking the developer if theyve over hauled the interface recently.

About the only good thing in it is being disturbed at Jeremy Ions playing the gandalf style good wizard .I went to see it with a friend of mine when it first came out, not because we thought it was good, but because we wanted a laugh. In fairness when I saw the film I got the idea it was just the first book, not the hole series at all, sinse at the end the evil king was still alive and the girl was going off to find the elves, but either way it was very bad, I laughed at the fact that at the end Eragon and tocan elf girl have this supposedly romantic oh I dont know when Ill see you again conversation, and yet sinse she was unconscious when she got rescued and then was immediately cursed, when had they ever actually got time to speak? We also made a lot of jokes about the name of the
  dragon, sinse the Voxall saphira is a make of car, what do we have next, the almighty barbarian hero Sko dar? Or how about the awsome wizard far ari? or maybe two warrior brothers, Lan Jro var! and his brother Rain Jro var! . I must admit Ive not read the series sinse Ive heard too many reports that theyre so derivative of fantasy they read like a best off, eg the 13 for sworn like the 13 Forsaken from wheel of time, or the magical dragon bond being very much based on Anne MCcafry, and the plot being pretty much lifted hole sale from starwars (something that struck me in the film), so I cant say what the films relationship to the book is like, though inn fareness I suppose probably should try the books myself and make my own mind up, sinse anything can be good if done well, although I have too many actually awsome stu
 f to read to go and try something that is contravertial at least, and possibly rather bad if not.As to monthly chatterings, well Im off to London this weekend for a singing course which will be fun if rather exhausting given I need to catch a 630 train. this one is even two days which is going to be interesting. I did have a random experience yesterday when I actively found something in the Blind technology range that fitted what I needed better than anything sighted we were looking for. The local blindness society were having an exhibition (calibur cassette library were there along with Dolphin but it was very small generally). apart from saying hi to calibur, who Ive always had a lot of respect for (I only finished with them because Id read their entire catalogue of sf and fantasy), I did find something Ive been looking for for a while. Sinse I have lots of audiobooks, Ive wanted to share some with my dad, 
 who, though hes not exactly a fantasy nut does enjoy the odd author like Niel Gayman, indeed he first got me into steven King. we were therefore looking for an mp3 player with usb capability that I could stick stuff on for him to listen to, however sinse my dad really! isnt the most technically adept of people we were looking for something fairly streight forward, and have been through a couple of near misses, which my dad ran into problems with one way or another (on one occasion for example he managed to stick the hole thing on shuffle). I was therefore quite surprised to run into a player known as boombox which Id not heard of before. Looking at it it seemed fairly streight forward, indeed it doesnt even have speech, just the ability to play from a memory stick or be a digital radio and three buttons. When I first saw it I thought okay, so what is the price? expecting at least several zeroes, however to my utter surprise it t
 urns out to be 30 quid, (15 given it was in a sale). This has proove just what my dad needed (right now hes halfway through the Bbc Neverwhere radio play). Quite surprising really that i have to go to a society for the blind to find something just purely none technical enough for my dad. No, the Boombox wouldnt sute me at all, I like the Victor stream with its multiple folders and other bells and whistles (expensive though it was), however I will say Im very pleased at something that does exactly what it says on the tin and doesnt cost the earth. The only issue Ive run into with the boombox is I cant work out how the hell it orders folders, sinse I tried to stick on several audiobooks for my dad, but even when I numbered each folder 01 or 02 they seem to play in an odd order. Im not sure if its something to do with the files in each folder or what, I need to do some more experimenting to
  see how exactly its index system works. it wouldnt be so bad if there was a way to know what file and folder you were on, but with the boombox there is no speech or even a screen display.

I must admit Ive not read the series sinse Ive heard too many reports that theyre so derivative of fantasy they read like a best off, eg the 13 for sworn like the 13 Forsaken from wheel of time, or the magical dragon bond being very much based on Anne MCcafry, and the plot being pretty much lifted hole sale from starwars (something that struck me in the film), so I cant say what the films relationship to the book is like, though inn fareness I suppose probably should try the books myself and make my own mind up, sinse anything can be good if done well, although I have too many actually awsome stu
 f to read to go and try something that is contravertial at least, and possibly rather bad if not.As to monthly chatterings, well Im off to London this weekend for a singing course which will be fun if rather exhausting given I need to catch a 630 train. this one is even two days which is going to be interesting. I did have a random experience yesterday when I actively found something in the Blind technology range that fitted what I needed better than anything sighted we were looking for. The local blindness society were having an exhibition (calibur cassette library were there along with Dolphin but it was very small generally). apart from saying hi to calibur, who Ive always had a lot of respect for (I only finished with them because Id read their entire catalogue of sf and fantasy), I did find something Ive been looking for for a while. Sinse I have lots of audiobooks, Ive wanted to share some with my dad, 
 who, though hes not exactly a fantasy nut does enjoy the odd author like Niel Gayman, indeed he first got me into steven King. we were therefore looking for an mp3 player with usb capability that I could stick stuff on for him to listen to, however sinse my dad really! isnt the most technically adept of people we were looking for something fairly streight forward, and have been through a couple of near misses, which my dad ran into problems with one way or another (on one occasion for example he managed to stick the hole thing on shuffle). I was therefore quite surprised to run into a player known as boombox which Id not heard of before. Looking at it it seemed fairly streight forward, indeed it doesnt even have speech, just the ability to play from a memory stick or be a digital radio and three buttons. When I first saw it I thought okay, so what is the price? expecting at least several zeroes, however to my utter surprise it t
 urns out to be 30 quid, (15 given it was in a sale). This has proove just what my dad needed (right now hes halfway through the Bbc Neverwhere radio play). Quite surprising really that i have to go to a society for the blind to find something just purely none technical enough for my dad. No, the Boombox wouldnt sute me at all, I like the Victor stream with its multiple folders and other bells and whistles (expensive though it was), however I will say Im very pleased at something that does exactly what it says on the tin and doesnt cost the earth. The only issue Ive run into with the boombox is I cant work out how the hell it orders folders, sinse I tried to stick on several audiobooks for my dad, but even when I numbered each folder 01 or 02 they seem to play in an odd order. Im not sure if its something to do with the files in each folder or what, I need to do some more experimenting to
  see how exactly its index system works. it wouldnt be so bad if there was a way to know what file and folder you were on, but with the boombox there is no speech or even a screen display.In other news, Ive just reconnected my mega drive and am trying a few old favourites, its good to play the three sor games and golden axe again, not to mention the awsomeness of gunstar heroes, albeit Im badly out of practice, (I even lost a life in Sor2 to the bikers on level 2, which was annoying). Hi. Ive just given another of the hosted games a quick go to see how the remove adds thing goes and I think I see what the problem is. When you click on restart a box comes up asking you if your sure to erase your game, its not an add pannel just an alert in the center of the screen. From the sound of it your not reading that alert box just the buttons around it. Im afraid I have no idea how to fix this, sinse on Ios Vos curser is always positioned naturally in the alert box anyway when one pops upBtw, as to removing adds, there is a box that comes up asking you if you want to remove adds at the start of any game your playing that you havent paid to remove the adds in. You can also buy the remove advertisements item if you hit the upgrade button at the start screen of the game, ie, the screen with buttons for play, restart, about, read the choiceofgames blog or subscribe to their news letter. if
  however you have indeed bought everything in the game you wont see that upgrade button. Hth.

Hi everyone,Before, I can use Skype with my headset microphone very well. Ive got to mention a bug for Mush-Z and it would be awesome if it were looked at:When you log into AA and find yourself on the dragon tooth waypoint, no ambience will play. You have to go to another waypoint like Gads landing and back to dragon tooth to make it work again. Yesterday I didnt even get an ambience sound when doing that, pressing F10 until I reached ambience only let me know that there was no ambience sound found, neither on Gads landing, nor on dragon tooth. I havent tried any other waypoint, since those two already have different ambience sounds and those sounds are the ones most frequently used. Logging out and back in fixed the issue.

Small update on MK X for those who dont know. brutalities are confirmed to return from UMK 3. Itll be interesting to see if theyre simply the same stupid thing they were in that game... well, not stupid, but certainly a little uninspired. lol And there will be no demo until release. For those who dont know, the brutality was a generic finisher where your character would perform a long combo on your opponent before their body exploded with a final punch. It wasnt all that cool. lol

I wanted to play this game for a while, but the instructions for setting it up to play seem daunting. and to my surprise once I did it it wasnt bad at all. thanks and big part to many of the people from here, so thank you very much.  everything is working, except for two things. they dont stop me from playing the game at all, but I would like to be able to use them. Maybe someone here has an idea. first is the clipboard too sappy doesnt seem to work. I did everything in the instructions, set it up and settings on the game as well, and nothing. For now Im just doing the F12and using instant translate. its not too bad, but want to know what could be going on. The one other thing is, that I cant seem to use my PS3 controller. I plugged it in to my computer, and all the drivers were installed, but when I going to the games control settings. I cant

well, Ive found a film adaptation of Christopher Paolinis the heritage cycle called eragon but I can honestly say it was the worst film ever. they tried to cover the whole series in just one film and it is a disaster really. in fact, most of the plot is missing. its a shame that such a good series doesnt have an equally good film.

Some bugs which you might already be aware of:Voices on map 5. They keep telling you to watch out. No matter where you are, theyll always reach you and sound as if you stand right in front of them. It looks like the more bloodies you have the more they will talk to you and the more youll get pissed of the hundreds of voices that keep distracting you from properly concentrating on looting.Where were at it, that huge amount of voices talking to you at the same time cuts out loot and other sounds, even other voices. Same with a lot of zombie footsteps cutting out other sounds or players voices. Ive asked some other players who said that theyre not having this issue, so it might be on my end, or theyve just not had enough zombies running around when they used or heard any voices.

I assumed any paypal donations would be passed streight on to the kickstarter campaign myself, though I could be wrong. I admit the time limit is what worries meas usual with kickstarter. 28 thousand might be possible in six months, maybe even in three with not relying entirely upon the audiogames community, but one month? I dont know why kickstarters time limit is so ridiculously short, and that is what has done for projects in the past. Well see though.

Some bugs which you might already be aware of:Voices on map 5. They keep telling you to watch out. No matter where you are, theyll always reach you and sound as if you stand right in front of them. It looks like the more bloodies you have the more they will talk to you and the more youll get pissed of the hundreds of voices that keep distracting you from properly concentrating on looting.Where were at it, that huge amount of voices talking to you at the same time cuts out loot and other sounds, even other voices. Same with a lot of zombie footsteps cutting out other sounds or players voices. Ive asked some other players who said that theyre not having this issue, so it might be on my end, or theyve just not had enough zombies running around when they used or heard any voices.Added: What I forgot to mention, when using the long-range back radar, it sounds as though it was panned slightly to the left. Is that intended to b
 e that way?In addition, although the tracker finally works fine, when pressing O or P it still shows people on maps who arent there anymore.

Hey guys,I dont know if this is in the right room, but if its not, mods just move it, please guys dont post 5 posts about it being in the wrong room. read the following line carefully.This. is. a. very. very. early. alpha.The reason I emphasize this so much is that all this has is a file and edit menu, but read on.Its something I programmed inside of an hour yesterday because I was really bored, and have recently been creating small programs to practice my purebasic skills. Heres what this one can do.-it can open, create, and save files. note that to open a file youd have to first run the program and then press control o to select the file. Like I said, early Alpha...-an edit menu with some very basic options. Cut, copy, paste, undo. Again, early alpha.Are you uninterested? well this might change your mind.-autosaving. Insures no work is ever lost. If you havent yet saved your file (you just opened the app and began typing), all your work is saved to a temporary autosave.txt file which is located in the main program directory. As soon as you save this file, the autosave will be deleted.The reason the autosave is here is so that if your computer were to shutdown unexpectedly, youd have your work saved. Please note, however, that temporary means temporary. For now, since this is just an alpha, it deletes the autosave and replaces it with a new one as soon as you open the application. I plan to make it prompt you before it does this though in the next update.-even if you open an existing file, or have already saved your document to something other than autosave, the autosaving feature is still active. Thist time, however, the changes made to your file are autosaved to the actual file youre working on. for example if youre working on changelog.txt, all autosaves will be saved in changelog.txt.So I know it isnt a lot, and it probably will get like 2 downloads at most. Well see. Folks on gamefaqs are skeptical, because of the stigma brutalities had back in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. But I like what one person said on one of the topics there... finishers and exessive blood and gore are starting to get old. shock value isnt as popular now as it was in the 90s. lol But Im interested how NRS decides to rework these finishers. guess well know in two months!

An update

Hi all,As some of you might have noticed, Ive not been around on here for quite a while now. its not that Ive decided to leave or moved onto better things, Ive just been rather busy. What with being in the second year of sixth form now (which for those of you in the UK or that dont know is basically the last year of school / college before University) and trying to keep up with doing 3 ALevels as well as just life in general, Ive been pretty busy for the last few months. But, for now at least, the pressures off for a while. Im currently on my half-term break before going back to college, and even afterwards, theres not so much work to be done now as the exams are in May and June. So for a while I should be able to come on here a lot more often. Since all of this has been going on, Ive not had the chance to check out all of the new games available but having checked the news and new releases room, Im now planning to start gaming again. Its nice to be back, and as I said before, Im planning to stick around for a while.

Some regions allow you to buy an iPhone directly from Apple, this iPhone would then be sim free and able to be used with any carrier and any service package you wish. That said without some kind of data connection Uber wouldnt work because it sends the request for a taxi over the internet, you can of course use wifi for this or tether your iOS device to the internet connection from another device which supports it.
