Hi,Sorry if this idea has been around the bush many times before. You know how theres been an Interactive Fiction archive for many years? I think there should be an audiogame archive. Ive just seen way too many games, concept demos, prototypes, etc. be seemingly lost to time because nobody seems to have them any more, sometimes including the original developers. What it seems to me like we need to do is gather up all the audiogames, source code, documents, etc. we can find and put it all in a central location accessible to all. I know there are a few attempts at this currently or in recent history, but in my opinion, they all have one problem or another. For example, Dropbox links could disappear if the maintainer loses interest, kills their Dropbox account, needs more disk space, or if Dropbox itself ever goes away or changes in some fundamental way. BT Sync gets around some of those concerns, but isnt as accessible to novice computer users. Imho there sh
 ould be a team of moderators whose job it is to approve uploads and enforce the rules E.G. no cracks, no serial numbers/keys, no keygens, etc.Unfortunately I dont have the disk space to support such a project or Id volunteer to host it. But really, something permanent like this should have a main site and one or more mirrors so the failure of one system doesnt destroy the whole thing.What does anyone think?

Sounds would be pretty cool, but thatll not change anything in the game really. Hi, everyone.Im thinking scanning a book, but Id like to know some tips in order to make the scanning quality as good as possible.How I should center the book on scanner, what configurations should abby fine reader have?I have a Canon Scanner, LiDE220.Ive tryed to scan something, but the problem is that a page is almost perfect, but the other one is full of missing letters, words and strange simbols in some places.What I should do to avoid problems like this one?Thanks in advance

I have never encountered that problem with the camera not working in certain areas. Though I have to say this, at the sand area, do be aware that the camera sound for sand, and the camera sound for nothing/a gap seems awefully similar. Thus one would have to listen very carefully when navigating that area.

Hi Tom. glad your medical problems are working out okay, I can only imagine what its like to lose your hearing and my imagination tells me it isnt good. Funny you mention the snoopy characters. I have vague recollections of a cartoon I saw briefly when I was yound Charley Brown and Snoopy. It was about some kids doing generally kid things and there was a dog called snoopy who played the commic roll. It was obviously an american import but never did well over here. I have heard of the peanuts commic strip featuring Charley brown, (mostly sinse I was chasing up a steven king reference), and Ive seen lots of references to Charley brown christmas special but I suspect this is one of these cultural things that probably didnt translate despite the idea of various american publishers that the rest of the world is just like the states and know what baseball is etc . So, Im afraid I have no idea who lucy or these people are. Im currently at aims international music school so wont be around the forum much or playing anything! heck Ive not even picked up Aprones new title. Im literally in vocal classes from 8-30 to 6-30. Its exhaustng and a bit ironic given I couldnt audition at the time but have turned up and been given lots to do, even sessionsdoing random stuff I didnt expect (Ive been coopted into both some iva Novello solos and some scenes from the gondoliers, and for some confusing reason Ive got some unexpected extra classes in opera). Thats aside from my own stuff, sinse appart from erantry and corner of the sky Ive also got some unusual things, an awesome and very obscure tim rice song called no rhyme for richard which should be fantastic, all about wicked prince 
 john trying to persuade a poet that richard doesnt ryme with anything so he should compose a song about John on the basis that john rhymes with everything! its a great villain peace and Im looking forward to it. Of course, its all horribly, horribly exhausting especially because the school buildings that the course has wrented are undergoing renovations which meant for some very quick route learning on my part, (and on reevers), indeed I do most of aims fuelled by coffeee ad adrenaline, but I wouldnt swap it for everything, especially because its one of the few places Ive found where people judge me on my actual ability to perform not my amount of eyeballs. Anyway I need to cut this short and dash sinse Ive got places to rush off to and some very! qick music to learn.

Considering that im making quite a few drastic changes to gameplay, id say no ones old char files are being exported, seeing as I had to purge on the old server anyways do to the outbreak of 20 cruisers and such invading. Now, since the new server is making some improvements, I figure I might as well post some info to answer some questions. Yes, I am rewriting the server. However, as I said before, im taking this time to address some major ishues that people had in the old game. For instants, the status report, im aware of a few people who mentioned that the bit of info it was spitting out was difficult to review. Now, my ideas for readjusting major gameplay. Id like to redo the orbital ship system. Only, have smaller starships be buyable by players, the big ones will be custom built. I was thinking that players could serve onboard thoughs big starships after applying to join the navy, keep in mined they would be doing various tasks abord their 
 currently assigned starship, for instants, a pilot might actually be a pilot in charge of ship navigation. Theyd have the possibility of being promoted, eventually if they reached the rank of captain theyd get their own big ship to command, but well need to see on that idea. Ill post updates about the new server on the reality software site, so if your intrested as to whats getting updated you can take a look their.

@sanslash, the hole point of taking the server down initially was to try to figure out these bugs that should have been spotted before launch but were not do to me receiving endless suggestions, and me not getting the feedback I absolutely needed to here which could have led to me fixing the problems early and hents delaying the launch until the game was fully stable. So thats why im having to develop a new version. However, I am taking the time to address some of the most major problems that people have reported. One of which, and this has been addressed, is a long delay when switching rooms because of loading sound files. Ive also taken this time to devise of a way to revamp the status reports, and im making some major changes to gameplay as well. For thoughs who absolutely can not wait, I have put up the old server so that you can play. Be aware that it will crash, and if it does, that it should come back up. If it doesnt, you can let me know
  and ill fix it, but beyond that, im not supporting the current version. Unless Some how I figure out the crashes. Anyways, enjoy.

Play with the brightness in the settings for the scanner, that second page may be receiving lots of glare from the light bar. Make sure both pages are on the scanner fully. Youll probably need a full dedicated scanner for books, not just a scanner on an all-in-one printer.

Hi again sir dan. Good that you have put the old one back up if only to serve as secondary server while youre working on a new one. Do remember though that if one is working on a new system, and the old system is not supported, then one has to make it clear to folks such as prajwal who is indian and does not understand english very well.There has to be a way then to let the people on said old server no that, no questions will be answered on that system as it is no longer supported. Ther server hence, is just running for those who still want to play dmnb without being able/willing to wait for a new one. Personally I can wait for a new release even if Im the server guy who said you should put a secondary server up. The only reason for doing that is because I have learned in my work experience that people are impatient creatures, and when theres a suggestion of the word wait most people go away because they want things now.So yes, the idea of
  putting up a secondary server is implemented as you did, but since were waiting for a new build/relaunch of deathmatch, A new beginning, No support of the old system might mean no unnecissary questions asked/answered because of development being stopped on that version.

Mata, I believe this is the link for the castaways language file:www.kaldobsky.com/audiogames/castawayslang.zipOnce you have the file, you name it language.txt and just put it into your Castaways folder. The game detects it when you launch, and it uses the translations within it as you play.It looks like Castaways comes with French and Russian translations, though around the web Ive seen people post their own translations into other languages (such as Spanish).Mata, the kids are able to do some tasks that involve just searching for firewood, I believe. Ill probably add more for them in the future.

I posted a small update. Here are the changes:Changes from 0.4e to 0.4f- The So Fuzzy perk has been improved. You now start with 4 extra blankets instead of only 1.- Fires produce more heat for the easy and baby steps difficulty settings.- Children are able to help with firewood collecting tasks.

I tried that strategy on my first go, going forward right away, the only problem was that you have to go forward about 5 or 6 tiles before the cold actually lets up, Unfortunately if you try going that far without stopping its likely that a few of your party may die due to wolf attacks or other issues. I decided to make camp at the forest edge next time I play, I originally made camp at the second ridge, but I quickly ran out of food so not really a good decision. Ironicly once my party ran out of food, I had one senior in my party who had been attacked by a wolf, and I thought was for sure going to be the first one to die, but some how she survived 3 days of no food, two more wolf attacks, and went on to out live everybody else. Pretty amusing if you ask me.

Mayana, spears help your people win fights against wolves, but they also unlock some very useful tasks in some areas.Guitarman, that was what I was thinking too. My wife has often told me I should make an oregon trail type of game for the community, so this was sort of my take on that. I prefer my games to be challenging, with a bit of dark humor, so of course that took the game in the direction it ended up.

@Aprone, thank you for the update!I wanted to send some kids to get me some firewood, but it seams I got lucky ... I got just teenagers and adults, not even a single child, not even a single elder ... [[wow]]. Also started out with a knife and no ingerd people, so I had a lot of good workers. And verry good at that, because I found a speer, that I never knew existed until that. I guess those are used in later areas?

Where can I obtain castaways language file anyway, if you dont mind me asking? And how do I get it to work after the translation? Its a little out of topic, but i htink ill finish it as soon as i asked, and leave everything there.@Aprone, I actually think you give that language file to your testers, whoever wanna translate, only one person though, not all of them. Im more than happy to throw some Thai words in there, if you feel like handing it to meI think kids can always do some easy task. Theyre curiious and energetic, like most kids do. They might turn the sucky time to something kinda cool. Any idea of tasks or new feature for kids please? I dont wanna see them die uselessly like that:(

Hi aprone, I am very mad and frusterated about something that just happened. I think it is stupid and unfair and it should be changed. I was doing a 40 crate 180 zombies mission. Im not sure if its my team members falt or what but i was in repackaging and my team member ditched me and actually whispered to me have fun. Then i got rushed. I managed to fight them off with a slej hammer but more came. I quickly quit the game since i was too far from my truck to retreat and so i logged out and back in. I new i didnt die bbecause i had high armor and i hadnt heard the death sound and my health was what it had been when i quit. Dying is one thing, but when i went on i had a glock which i donated, lost my vulcan, bow, and everything i had which i had worked at least a week for. I dont think this is fair to players and i think if you quit in a mission and log bak in you should have your stuff. I think its unfair that you lose it when you don
 t die but when you quit in a mission. That seems stupid to me. Its never done that before not sure if its a bug or what but it was very annoying and id like it if you could return my stuff for me. I dont know whwat i had exactly but if you have it logged youll figure it out or if you need i can tell you whwat i think i had but honestly i think this is truely unfair and very frusterating i might add since i hadnt died i just lost my stuff. I want all my stuff back because not only did i not die, but i quit, which usually saves. If this is a bug then itll probably be fixed anyway, but if its not i think it should be changed because it is very very annoying. Its ok to die because its your falt and if you dont want to die then dont do missions but i knew i wasnt gonna die and i never did but i wasnt expecting to lose all that. The reason i quit was so i didnt have to worry about finding all my stuff and i return to find it all 
 gone. Sorry for my rant, just that its fresh in my mind since it only happened like 10 minutes ago and is the most annoying thing that ever happened in this game. Love the game though, that is why im writing this 3 hour rant probably because i played it like everyday all summer. But please! Return my stuff because i spent a long time looking and i didnt die and i didnt expect to find it gone when i quit and logged in!

Elders can search for firewood, but at least in crashsite, first ridge and ice vallie (sorry if I spelled them wrong), theres nothing at all for children to do. I really hope there Will be something for them, at least in baby steps, that are curently pritty hard, heh.

Hmmm the message of stevo give to me an idea... Danny, are you thinking to implement in to the game, in a far future, massive factions?Example. When a new players enter to dmnb, you ask to it if it want to be a confederacy, or pirate or something else. With that, the battles between players can be a missions (destroy x ship of opponent faction) and of-course, the diferent factions have different advantages and weaknesses.Or, do not define the faction of each player without a question in the creation of each character, but deffine it with the actions of the players in the game :3It sounds very interesting :3

So, This game has been around on the app store for a while, but nobody has posted anything about it. If anyone remembers tectic, which was removed from the app store, youll love this game. You have to manage your own startup company, create an app, hire people, upgrade from different types of offices, put items in your office that will increase your staffs happiness, therefore, making them less likely to strike or just resign. You also can advertise your product, watch the fan count. There is one thing that I dont like, that makes it harder to play. Just like Park boss, you have email that tells you about the status of your company, and other info. The problem is that you dont get any sort of notification in the game when you get a new email, so, since email is very critical on how you should plan your next move, it is a bit harder to play and actually succeed. The only way to chevk is to look at the tab for your mail and check every so often. The game is completely VO usable, and the developer who coded this game wasnt aware that blind people could use an iOS device until I told him. The game was still accessible, before I even mentioned VO. The game is free. A sequel is said to come out, but it is way past the release date, and I havent seen anything on his twitter for a good while.

Hello,@aprone: I have tried the latest version, and Im sorry to report but the game seems to be unplayable for me now. When I ended my turn, the game just went straigh to this is day two as apposed to showing a summary. When I checked the summary, two people rested, and the rest didnt do their tasks. I tried ending my turn again, and the same thing happened.My difficulty is baby steps, my perk is happy thoughts, my fault is odoriffic and my religion is none. Thanks for the download. There is however one question,. In the talking dosbox itself there is a windows folder, and I do suspect that keynote and keysoft only works with that windows together with the windoweyes, but there is no way to start that windows/its screen reader from the dosbox prompt, or not that I can see in the manual.

Windows has never, is not and will probably never be fully accessible for us. Yes, windows 8.1 is better than windows 8, so if you are willing to upgrade, go for windows 8.1. If you were previously a windows 7 or windows XP user, you may need some time to get used to windows 8.1, because some things are different from the windows versions you used to see.

Just tested that and I think he ment that, when you say no, it doesnt bring you back to the game you are playing right now or back to the edit box to tipe a save name, but exits the game without saving. So if you do that, you luse your game. I am sorry if Im wrong, but pritty sure he ment that.

So guys, theres a small update. This update will allow you to have a couple things you guys will kind of like. First, energy drugs. This will allow your energy to rise quite quickly for like 50 seconds. Its prety unrealistic, it litterily makes you not tired in an instant. So I had to add a side effect, and that is your thirst. It makes your thirst sky rocket. It is impossible for one of these things to kill you, but it does some prety serious dammage to your thirst. But then... we have water boddles. These are exactly like pots, but hold 50 water instead of ten. You can find both of these in the general store. Oh, another thing about water boddles, is that when you pick them up, you must open it. To do this, interact it with your hand. Once you open it, you will have an open water boddle, and it will all ready be filled! But you can fill up an open water boddle in any water source. Yay! Another little update will come tomorrow that you guys will also love. I wont say 
 the features iof itbecause I dont want to make promases, but itll be prety good. And it will have some of your guyses small suggestions. Including the 2 above hopefully. If any of you have any other small, I repeate small, suggestions, please give them to me on the forum before tomorrow night. Thanks.

Yes. VB .NET programs can quite easily decompiled if you do not use an obfuscation tool on the compiled executable. The reason is all .NET applications are compiled or converted into MSIL, an intermediate language, which is read by the .NET Framework. The problem is since MSIL is an open standard it is easy for a hacker to grab a program to convert the MSIL back into VB .NET, C# .NET, or whatever else strikes his/her fancy. That, however, isnt a huge security problem if you know how to address it and secure your code before distribution. A tool like Dotfuscator can obfuscate your executable so it cant be converted from MSIL back into VB .NET etc. So if you are going to use VB .NET just be aware of how properly to secure your code and you will be good.

My first swamp campaign, Killing time!

Hi all!So i was board yesterday and my internet was acting up so i decided to play with the swamp campaign creating and make something. I didnt expect it t obe big, or even that good. Just wanted it to have a vulcan and at least 1 ally since i like AI and vulcans. Ther are only 2 problems though: first, i dont have dropbox. I will post the code below. This is actually kind of good since maybe you can help me find out why the ally is so stupid. He is saposed to walk around and shoot but he just stays there and no zombies seen to notice him. Maybe its because i have it set to obey my commands, i dont know. Ive discovered a rather serious bug in the game. I considered resetting my game while playing 25-5 on exciting, as Im not totally satisfied with my weapon selection at this point. Problem is, resetting the game does not unlock anything at all. IN fact, it even locks the extras. Thankfully, I had a backup of my save and I was able to restore it. But I cant imagine that there was intent in the development to lock you out of a reset like that.

thanks, awesome!potion mixing is handled by the player by way of reading from the herbarium potion book and mixing the ingredients you have collected from various places. What you mix determines the potion you get, and the potion has a different effect on you when you drink it. There is no diverse combat, however killing guards and breaking things as the wolf does increase your wolf time (time you can remain in wolf form), which helps when needing to make it a longer distance or finish a timed puzzle.

Dark, that is truly sad to hear that the Peanuts cartoons never took off in the UK. I loved those cartoons as a kid, and I still do.Basically, they started out as a comic strip in the Sunday paper and in the 60s they then began making them into animated cartoons for TV. They began with a number of holiday specials like Its the Great Pumpkin Charley Brown for Halloween, Marry Christmas Charley Brown for Christmas, and so on. Im not sure how many episodes were actually made but they are definitely cultural icons as I doubt youll find many American children who dont know who Charley Brown and is friends are as they are shown every holiday along side various other holiday specials. That said, here is an overview of the characters of the Peanuts cartoons.The main character is of course non-other than Charley Brown. He has a sister named Sally and a dog named Snoopy. Charley Brown is often seen as a screw up because just abou

This game is brutal; I still say you should make the chance of exhaustion recovery either (1) in general a higher number, or (2) make the chance go up by maybe 15 to 30% for every round that the person doesnt do anything. I had two or three depressed people and sat them out for 3 turns without them recuperating, and this was on baby steps. That slowed me down, because they were stuck in the ice valley, which has almost nothing that you can do. Eventually, 4 people died because of food shortages and dpression. Had they not been exhausted I probably would have risked moving them to the ice folds or the second ridge.

@catfish Willdo man! glad you liked it@threeblack yeah its the nature of the way regions were picked I think, I will take a loot at fixing thatthe bomb sound was removed and noted in the logs a few versions back because it stalled the game due to engine issues and as for lock bashing it works most of the time but I have found times where my 6k dmg weapon wont break one which is b.s. so Im gonna take a loot soon, Cheers for these bug notes though, its a great help because I can only playtest so much haha

I am going to try out a new strategy, moving all the people like 2 locations forward as soon as the game starts so it isnt as cold. Im not sure if that will just make them exhausted and stuff though, and there are more supplies at the crash site. Ill have to see if its worth it. Maybe if I move the majority of my people and just leave 2 or 3 people to scavenge off the site and then get them forward later ...
