You should know that Blastbay (the developer of BGT) ran a contest like this officially a number of years ago. It didn't go particularely well in that out of the 12 individuals who entered only three actually submitted something. The contest period was two months and the prize was a copy of BGT Pro Unlimited (back when BGT was not free) which was, if memory surves, about a $400 value.To be honest, and I mean no offence, but it sounds like you may have motives beyond just wanting to run a contest for the fun of it. Why such a long time period? Why such a small size restriction of 40 mb? It'd take just a few music tracks to put you over that. You're going to get little tiny arcade style games, in which case five months is way too long.Do your perspective contestants retain full ownership of their intellectual property such that they can do with it as they please after the contest is over? I think you need to elaborate on why you want to do this and what yo
 u expect to get out of it. The BGT competition I mentioned earlier was done officially by the developer of BGT itself in order to promote the engine.

I agree something should be done about this. If you're going to encrypt the key, it needs to be encrypted uniquely for each user. If it's encrypted with some sort of master key, since the code is open-source, in theory anyone could decrypt it, so you're no better off. What should probably happen is that it generates a profile of hardware attributes unique to your computer I.E. MAC address of your network interface, hard drive serial number, etc. and maybe some less unique things like amount of RAM, number of CPU cores, etc. This is the sort of things copy protection systems do. Then, this unique computer profile is used as the encryption key. So if someone downloads the file containing your key, the encrypted data is useless, even if they have the same type of computer with the same specs. If relevant hardware changes in your computer, you lose the auto connect setting but can just put it in again.

I dunno about everyone else, but pure turn based would be kinda meh. I like the sound of adding interactivity into attacking and defending. We've had a few select thing from menue, sit back and listen to results type games over the years. Adding in timed button presses for parrys, directional inputs to influence power outputs of attacks and the like would be the ideal way of keeping this type of game fresh. The paper mareo games, some final fantacy games (X for example) as well as others used this mechanic really well.

It depends on what weapons your character's are good with. If it's swords, by swords. Same with spears and flales. Make sure your proficency level is high on the characters, and up magic defense with the cards. The star shot attacks don't do a lot of damage compared to when it's almost dead. Just wait until it starts power downing your characters, obsorbing your MP, and using moon shoot for an instant kill! I got past it using a lot of cards that up magic defense and physical attack power, attacking the boss, and using any character that can use heal ring to recover HP. Heal ring is a light atribute spell, so use any characters that are good with light magic. If you use the right strategies, the boss is beatable. It's the same with the arrow tiger in the farry forest. It does about 700 damage and attacks twice, you just need to use physical defense cards and attack it.

If you're talking about the puzzle at the wind ruins with the locked door, on the first 2 lithographs, choos the first option for both of them. With the other 2, the second option and the door will open. Use dark magic for the plasma, that's it's weakness and that's all that can really damage it before it tries to recover it's hp. In the remade version I'm making, it can't recover it's hp. And no I'm not copying the game, I'm just using the source to make a game.

I havent commited to any game mechanics yet but i think i like the idea of a bit of a mix of turn based and skill. Such as attack and then hit the button again at the right time to increase chances of a critical hit. Similair for when an enemy attacks you. Found an issue in chapter1.Jeff walks out of the cave. "To prevent danger, he pulled a few stones in front of the entrance and cast a sticking spell on it. No one can go in, or out." Then he walks right back into the cave with out removing his spell first. Perhaps if it said anyone except for himthat would work and I'm still confused about how if the deamond was trapped in the cave how he got out, and got a car. Just some thoughts so far, I like the ties to Harry Potter magic.

Found an issue in chapter1.Jeff walks out of the cave. "To prevent danger, he pulled a few stones in front of the entrance and cast a sticking spell on it. No one can go in, or out." Then he walks right back into the cave with out removing his spell first. Perhaps if it said anyone except for himthat would work and I'm still confused about how if the deamond wastrapped in the cave how he got out, and got a car. Just some thoughts so far, I like the ties to Harry Potter magic.

I have arranged a meeting with a potential manufacturer and am very excited to evaluate our options to get this thing out of the prototype stage. We have also decided we will be developing an RPG game for the sonus however in order to achieve the quailty of game I am aiming for it may take some time. And im not sure how long it will take to get the sonus produced. My idea at the moment it to develop a kind of party game with lots of mini games and unlockables to be released with the console. This would also showcase the variety of game styles that the Sonus can run. A technical problem, recording my phone's output

Hello all,So, I want to record my phone's sound output on my PC. I've connected my phone to the PC's line-in port by using the appropriate line-in cabel, and I can here the sound output from the phone in my PC speakers, however, the output stereo for some reason is reversed, meaning everything that should be heard on the left is heard on the right, and everything that should be heard on the right is heard on the left. I thought that it may be the problem with my phone, so I've tried with connecting my iPod with the same results. When I tried with my external sound card, I'm getting mono output only, so I have to use my internal sound card for that. And yes, my speakers are positioned properly, since I don't have any problems with my PC sound output in general. I googled and haven't found anything that describes my problem, so I hope that someone will be able to give me some solution. My internal sound card is Realteck HD audio, and I have o
 nly one line-in port on the back panel of my PC. On my external Creative SB X-FI 5.1 Pro sound card, the same port is used for both mike and line-in.

I'm rather interested in South Park: The Fractured but Whole Given how... Playable? Yes, playable... not accessible the last game was. There was only really one monster QTE in the spirit of guitar hero, but apart from that it was do-able. If that carries through to this game then it's one I'll be playing for sure.

Before I go out and buy, what are the other drawbacks? Can I program the radio without the computer? If I need to access a frequency that isn't programmed into the radio, is it possible? I know this sounds crazy, but can I set it up for duplex operations seeing that that is needed to go through any repeaters that maybe in my area? The price does look cheap enough to just have around. Somewhere around $20 to $40 is sort of cheap though, but I am not going to complain if it is built right for my use... On VHF, my transmit and receive can easily be 600 KHZ apart and on UHF my transmit and receive can easily be 5 MHZ if not more apart. You know, I don’t really see any trunk system support either, but I really don’t need that. Sorry about letting my mind go into setting up an entire communication system. LOL. After all, this topic was just for two-way radios. LOL.

sapi5 on NVDA doesn't work. I'm using windows 10 64-bit and when I choose sapi5 NVDA gives a synthesizer error. I uninstalled the sapi5 voices app with programs and features but it's the same.

Best Way to Code a Family Sim

I have an idea for a project. It's based on several concepts in the mainstream game virtual families. I tried coding it in inform, but I'm more of a writer and storyteller than a coder, and I could barely understand the basics. That attempt was several years ago. Now, that project fills my mind again, and I'd like to try and make one again. There are two problems. I can't install anything, so inform 7 and BGT are out of the question, I don't understand how to program with those two tools either. My other option was ChoiceScript, but there are several problems with that. It's super-hard to understand the indentation, especially since I have to count the spaces for the indents of each line, and that gets tedious. Second, I'd like to eventually submit this game, but the site said that artwork is required. The main reason I wanted to use ChoiceScript is because of the various stats, and the ability of the player to choose their own name. I don't
  know how I'll conquer these obstacles. The only other option I considered is making a gamebook and having the player write down their stats, but that's a bit tedious. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Going to try to remove some just to see if it happens. Second, what happens is that in some times, mostly when browsing my documents in windows explorer NVDA stops working. Not just that, nomatter which key i press. Nothing works... But i've noticed if i have something elce (licke being in a skype call, listening to music or a game which i was playing), keeps working. But i cant interact with those programs. I cant close them, or get at them so... What key works its alt, plus control, plus, delete. The only thing which fixes the problem its logging out... Clossing the sesion, and all of the programs. I get an error message and, when i am able to get sighted help to read it... Says: NVDA helper remote or something , injection terminate and some numbers.And 
 third, i cant seem to replicate the things to cause the problem. It could happen right now, or in a day, even could not happen at all in a long , long time. But it allways gets back... Of course in a not so good momment.

well, i'm telling you from my own experience that there are some cases whe nyou can't make backups cause of beeing too late and not thinking that your computer would die in a certain amount of time.i had the same problem. i hadn't anything with y computer, all things were going fine and guess what? after 2 days my hard drive crashed. well, it's gonna be so bad. that's what i was saying. and right, i had to change it. maye he was in the same situation

I'm a big hockey fan and I always wanted a game where I could manage my team, change lines, trade players, and of course play hockey. Luckily, NHL 2004's menues are fully accessible using jaws with some tweaking. Don't be fooled by the title of the game. If you do a bit of research on google you will see that nhl 2004 has been modded for this year and updates are constently being released. If people are interested I will post a demo of me browsing through the menus and playing a game. If you play with headphones, you can easily know if the puck is actually on the left or right side of the ice, and with knowledge of the game it's easy to know if it's in your zone or not.

Ahoy all.Sorry for the double post, but that ehh buying didn't go so well,so its put off again until hope fucking fully tomorrow. At least I dam well hope so!!!I traveled to the store to look at a few windows moddles that were avalable,and if none were to my liking to grab a mbp 2012. I was able to find a few good moddles I'll talk about them in a bit, and I would've ended up getting a mbp because those good moddles while good were slightly more than I could pay/had the cash on me.It turns out that the amount I had to pay as the downpayment wasn't right as told to me by the guy working at the store a few days ago,even though I confirmed the details with him at least 4 times.So had to come back due to lack of cash to pay the dp with for either machines that I liked.There's this fantastic machines, too much for my needs,but like only a few thousands more, which translates to 30 40 $$ more than what a mbp with a 256gb ssd would end up costing me with 8gb ram.Its a asus ROG 552gl? or something along those lines, I'm a bit drained out so can't be sure on the sequence of the letter and digits.I7 hq 6th gen processor,8gb ddr4 ram,4gb graph,1tb 7200rpm hdd. now I'm just wondering, what's the fucking catch? Well, Chirp is not accessible at all on the PC or Mac Side, but BaoFeng has a "VIP" section on their site with windows programming software that seems to be quite useable with Jaws / NVDA. The truly tough part of the process is finding a programming cable that will work with the UV series radios. The tech is so old that you need what is effectively a modified USB to DB9 cable / converter, and the trick is finding one without a cloned prolithic 2303 chip. Or even better, an FTDI chip, though the XLT painless is the only cable I've seen rocking FTDI.

@Raygrote, I do something similar for multiplication and division, ie, I find something I know and work from that. The same process worked for squared numbers for me, actually I used to have the same issue with "show your working" since I'm just not a spacial logic person, for numbers I just play with the colours and synaesthesics and see what comes out (I can't explain it any better than that), but it does work, my reccord thus far is 38 points at square routes . General knolidge is exactly what it says, however I do wish there was some way of having categories or at least knowing what category the questions are.I have not memorized the  atomic numbers of the entire periodic table, however looking up answers afterwards is imho not a bad thing, though I do wish the questions had a little context, eg, I know about the lucitania since it's a 
 famous ship but the other ship sinkings mentioned there have no relation at all for me and not much interest either. The questions about Hitler were okay, but then again I know a little about the history of the shoa (holocaust), so others would have the same issue, since in itself knowing what year  hitler was born just isn't that interesting. Then again, it's nice the game has! a general knolidge quiz component, so credit that it got added at all there. With the turtle I  tried tapping the arrows, but maybe I didn't tap fast enough since that just lead to me losing, where as going back worked, even on the beach, and when I tried lava race in an online game (though I've not found the volcano world yet, I think I know how to unlock it though so no spoilers please).However I have now found the most difficult game ever! Beware! spoilers for the darkness ahead.The Darkness was going okay, I had about 140 coins and was
  doing mostly well at the games (the corridor stopwatch gave me a little trouble jumping the fireballs but hay still passed). then! I hit the cursed field. I did gather that your supposed to use footstep eccoes to get through, but yee gods, how those echoes work is beyond me. It seems that only when the sounds are far left or right do you actually get an indicator of an opening, and most of the time you don't even get that, heck you quite often can't tell when the shadow is in front of you or not. having got to that section with 150 or so coins, I then played about 10 games and was down to 34 coins, with my best score being minus three (and that was mostly luck). I then said "Sod the echoes" and just did step counting with trial and error, eg, forward for 16, left for two, forward for 34, right for two forward for 10 etc. By fluke I then got six points and passed, and I am really! glad not to have to play that game again.  I am not sure if I m
 isunderstood what the sounds mean, if the sounds are tremendously imprecise (it seems very often I died even when I thought I had space in front of me or died if I went left or right even though I heard an echoe). I have certainly seen footstep echoes used in games before like shades of doom, but either way, that game was a nightmare! I am not sure if it is me, or if the game needs a bit of sound editing, but either way yee gods I hate! that game. Btw, also a miner bug report. The haunted cemetory game still has french text when standing on the tombs, I sort of gathered it said "get offof my grave you meddling kids" or something to that effect, but it'd be nice to have that translated please.

No problem. Really, NVDA Remote isn't that big of a deal, it's just some people make it out to be worse than it actually is. I mean who is gonna hack into you, connect you to a server and grab your remote key? It's highly unlikely.
