When I didn't see it, he proceeded to tell me that sometimes IOS apps don't update, and you need to uninstall and reinstall them in order to force the process. Imagine how pissed off I was when I realized that not only was there no update, I couldn't get the app back again. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, since I was running IOS 11 at the time, but still, that really sucked. Anyway, then a friend sent me his copy of the .ipa file, but I couldn't get it onto my phone, so I'm pretty sure you can't do that. The only major annoyance that I see at the moment is that sometimes it kicks me out of the app, which means that I have to sign back in. I get a notification that says I've been signed out of Skype, so I have to retype my email address, and because I have 2FA enabled and the Microsoft Authenticator app on my phone, it's a simple matter of just tapping the right number in the app to sign in. But that's still unacceptable, considering it happens a few times a week, and for no reason. I've Googled the problem, and it seems to be a bug with no fix at the moment. At least it isn't as frequent as it used to be, when I first upgraded to the October update of Windows 10 when it came out, it was happening multiple times a day. I realize that in our increasingly connected world, we have to sacrifice quite a bit of privacy, but I'd really rather not send everything I'm saying to Microsoft. I'm not sending everything I say to Google, even though I have a Google Home, because I mute the mic if I really want to make sure of that. Some people say that any smartphone's mic is always listening no matter what you do, and perhaps that's true, so maybe I'm sending tons of info unwittingly to Apple without knowing it. But consciously being OK with uploading my conversations to a remote server, that's a bridge too far for me. Re: I need some reccomendations for a few different windows apps Yeah, I'm honestly regretting sinking my money into all of those apps, and I did buy all of them. Very disappointing if you ask me. The only one that still works very well is QRead. Chicken Nugget is gone, and QCast and QFeed have annoying issues that crop up all the time. QSeek was a cool concept, but in hindsight, I didn't need it, I thought I was just supporting a good developer at the time. I wonder if it still even works. If the rumors are true that Chicken Nugget might become open source, I sincerely hope that the others will as well, particularly QCast. It blows my mind that there aren't any good podcatchers for Windows anymore, at least ones that don't require a great deal of finagling to make them work sort of OK. How the heck is there not a command line program sort of like YoutubeDL for that purpose? I am on a sort of Christmas deadline so a lot depends on how smoothly the Mac OSX stuff goes. So far it's been far from smooth sailing. One idea is that he could be chasing you while you're collecting toys, and elves could show up too, with the game becoming more and more difficult somehow until someone gets you. Re: The Great Toy Robbery is getting a major Update As far as I know there's nothing keeping anyone from keeping and continuing to play the old version after the new version comes out, with the possible exception of scoreboard posting, assuming Liam kills the old scoreboard server. If so, what happens when score posting is attempted depends entirely on how graceful the old version is about handling unexpected failures. If he still has the source code, if he wanted he could obviously release a new version of the old version (confused yet?) which is the same as the old version in every way except that scoreboard posting functionality has been ripped out.All of this applies to the BGT version, I have no experience with the really old version. You see, unlike our famous platforms like QC or RSG, OnToys has a different system. It is like a public API, and developers are free to create their own games. So some have perfect English, while some still need work. We do have a good translation team, so I would say that about 80 percent of OnToys should not be confusing. Rules for most games are translated, some still missing but will eventually be up. As a general rule, there should be nothing completely in Russian and missing the English translation. I do have to say that the client, even in Russian which is the original language of the developer has no readme for keyboard commands as most things are obvious, and when you do log in pressing ctrl plus k brings up a list of hotkeys available in the current window. Also, pressing alt or applications key is generally a good idea for games to figure out which options are available for you and which shortcuts they use.
