Windows 10 now supports speech during installation

Not exactly sure when this started, but I noticed that as of recent, Windows 10 now supports speech during installation.  I originally noticed it when I re-installed windows on my old desktop computer before I sold it, but wasn't too sure if it was because of one reason or another since I used windows PE with NVDA, so when I went to repeat this process on my cousin's computer, after installing a brand new SSD, I gave it a shot, and sure enough, Narrator activated right at the gate.  I found this to be extremely handy.So Windows, now, supports speech using Narrator on the very first installation screen where you select your language, etc etc.

right. Not just saying that physical activity will take that away, but many, lamentably too many blind people I know cannot run or jog for 8 minutes straight without panting heavily, and that is just a bit.. unfortunate, for everything, health related and in between.Also, reading braille helped me a lot. My hands were too busy and the things the dots were conveying were just so interesting that there was no time for any of these habits later on. Thankfully I never developed the rocking one, I just feel too out of line when I do it, like that is artificial and was never meant to be part of anything... I just have not met any sighted person who does this unless they do have some sort of autism or something--sorry but its the only example I could find in real life of that happening. If I am alone with a full blast stereo I would firstly shut it off or turn it way down to hear music better, and secondly if I am going to move to music is because I am practicing some choreography, or actually dancing with someone which is just so much more enjoyable, or doing aerobic exercise to music.Also, just one word that comes out of this and it is equally important in regards to rocking. When people talk to you and you respond, even blind ones, find it just a bit obnoxious when your voice moves back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, or side to side. I imagine that if a sighted friend was looking at you, they would get motion sickness pretty quickly, and that has a rather negative social connotation. Normally when I talk to others I at least turn my face to them, too.Imagine the disastrous results of a singer recording things this way. Lamentably, I have found podcasts and video demos by blind people (including the renouned ones) where the voice goes really annoyingly back and forth, or up and down, up and down, in volume. That alone had made me quit or find something else to listen altogether.For other things it is also troublesome, for one I could not imagine myself playing the saxophone in this way! where did proper posture and prevention of injury go? same is true, if not even more, for the piano. Yes, there are swaying motions that correspond to the music and the groove, but they are completely intertwined with it... and usually follow the movement of your arms, or the movement of a musical accent and so on. In fact, if I would start rocking altogether when playing, I would just wreck my sense of tempo big time with such a thing.But that is not the own individual's fault, as far as I can gather. As far as I know and as some had said, this stems, most likely from an early age where concentration in something was necessary to keep yourself entertained. I think what made me specifically not acquire the habit was that I often went out to social things and played with my school friends. We played such games as musical chairs (with a sighted guide of course) to hot potato and almost everything childhood related. That alone I believe helped me be very distracted and I never had to resort to rocking. I remember playing with my hair making interesting miniature shapes with it at times, but rarely did so anyway.

There are samples to learn from as others have said. Instead of taking a sample, changing one line of code and then releasing it like you did. Look at the sample. Understand how it actually works. Change things around to understand what your changes do. Then. Take what you've learned to build something completely different and new. Or. Why not make the sample better? Sound fall for example. What can be added to it? Can the concept be changed in to something else? the world is your oyster. You just have to be creative and willing to experiment.

In terms of fidgeting, I used  look at my hands a lot and wiggle my fingers, but since I replaced this with actual items to fidget with it tended to work out far better. I wouldn't actually say playing with a pensil or something is socially unacceptable, so long as you keep it minimal, I once heard about one person  used to make origami while he concentrated which was actually pretty cool, and fidget spinners etc are sold for a reason. My pacing is a little weird, but in that instance I prefer to do it rather than not, especially when I'm busy writing or thinking heavily about a problem.

I agree, it's stupid when they copy paste an answer. Once i got banned from a game and contacted support, they copy pasted me some stuff that pissed me off then i posted my problem in the forums and found out that i got banned for not playing more than 9 months, contacted support again and now that i mentioned why i got banned, they unbanned me. but again, they copy pasted another thing after unbanning me this just means our custummers are worth nothing and we have to copy paste text.

I persinally use coolsoft vertual midi sinth thoe at the start the sound buffer is at 200 ms so I lowered it to an almost unnoticeable 10 ms.

The rule of thumb is to never call update unless something has changed. if an object moves, naturally there need to be updates sent, so your object should make a call to update. By calling update when nothing has changed just wastes resources and can actually degrade performance. I had this when first coding Super Egg Hunt. Now I only call update on player and chicken movement

Updating listener in the main loop becomes useful when using a teleporter and preventing movement.  The update  method is also useful if your game is stationary, like sound RTS.  That said, Liam’s logic will work 99% of the time. Even the first case can be negated by calling the move method, assuming that it takes a value which  dictates the direction a player must move as it’s  parameter.

With all due respect, have you looked at the campaign guide? If not, well. Let me just say that what you’re proposing is quite ludicrous.  Don’t you think that somebody would’ve already done it if there wasn’t any limitation placed on the campaign scripting? You could never get a true multiplayer experience offline.  I’m sorry, but that is the truth.  doing what you propose will require countless hours of work, and even then I am not sure as to scripting being able to replicate everything the multiplayer mode has to offer.

I agree with 52. If you're going to sell products, please, please, please make sure you maintain them. This goes for everyone, including Ivan Soto. To say I'm disappointed TK is gone after spending some money only to have it go down less than 2 months afterwords is putting it very lightly. The fact he won't communicate with anyone is even more troubling, but that's for another discussion.I understand that nothing lasts forever, but having something you pay for with real money disappear less than a month or year after release is not professional at all and makes it less likely your current and future customers will support you again. If you cannot or will not do this, please stop charging for your products.

Ok, well keep in mind that there are plenty of example games that can get you started. Not an example game persay, but Mason has a lot of open source *actually open source* projects that you could learn off of, even Zombie Arena's open source. You could even release games as your own *long as you give credit to the original source* when you're using an open source project.

Question about Crazy Party: In the mini game The hedgehogs path in the Forest world, how do you unlock the entrance to the underground where you can collect gems?I found it today when I died in a hedgehog around the zero point and came back to the same place, but I am not sure what do you need to do to unlock the entrance exactly.Thanks for any help!

Based on what I see here, Mason, you just aren't ready.If you're the sort who's going to delete a bunch of topics because you can't stand criticism of any kind, and will act on impulse, then I think you owe it to those who still support you to get your act together before you push any further and make your situation much, much worse. It's already pretty bad. Maybe one day you can salvage some of the scraps of what's left and turn it into something, but to my eye at least, that day is not today. And it's no tomorrow I can see, either.

So many of you know my previous topics, ultimate destruction, TK source, calling ultimate destruction my own game, etc. The reason why I did it is because I had never actually been successfull in coding games. I tried, but compilation error every time. Even though I haven't made a successfull game, I will still not lone, because 1, I saw the topic about sudden attack where the guy got banned, and 2, I was on the road to a banning in a previous topic. I originally did that because, it was simply fun. Cloning is so fun! I will get all the source code and clone a thousand games and release them as my own games!,"I thought." But it is not good when you say it's your own game. so i just wanted to say that I won't clone any more, and I don't think other cloners should do that anymore. and if you think i'm just saying that because I am afraid of getting banned, I am not. i have thought about it long and hard, and found out it is wrong and can get you in trouble. so yeah. don't clone or banned.

copy a section of videos from a youtube playlist

Hi. I have a large playlist. I want to copy a certain section of videos from the playlist into another playlist. Is there any way to do this without having to manually add each video to the other playlist? In this case, all of the videos I want to copy are in a line, meaning no breaks from start to finish, I wnt all selected between the 2 ends. One last thing, the videos are not mine, so I can't use the video manager.

Mahdi-Abede created another account, and as soon as I realized it, I banned it permanently with a message that only one account per individual is permitted. This did not and does not need consultation, as the user in question already has a ban applied, so creating new accounts in order to circumvent a ban isn't gonna fly.

I think someone should make an offline campaign that has all the playability multiplayer has, IE Leveling, and the expantion missions with allies etc.Although I respect Swamp as being generally a multiplayer game, some people have different preferences I.E they may want to play this genre of games, but prefer offline. Others may have issues from time to time with the external hosting issues that render online games unplayable until the problem is rectified by the server hoster, which could be annoying for users especially if they are paying for their accounts, which in this case they are.I do know of the campaigns that are out there, but none of them bring full multiplayer functionality to offline players.One suggestion is that Aprone could, in his spare time, create an official offline Swamp campaign which not only will bring more playability for offline players, but will also provide a means for players to play the game should the server go down again.He could make it payed for users without accounts, and free for account users.

Hi all.To be honest, I agree with the activities thing.1.  get a home gym.I have one, a couple of bars on a post or 2 outside my dad helped put up.2 medicine balls of various weights, several heavy weights, an excercycle and a swiss ball as well as rings I can string up and do things with.I don't use all that gear at once, but after I get up, do a workout, have a coffee then check my updates, fix other's computers, and all the other things I do in the morning thats usually the morning gone at least.I do go out with family and such a lot of the time, long walks 3 times a week, and lunches and shopping twice a week.From time to time I go out with friends.I play games.I havn't but I know a lot of people find either disabled or other social groups for things you enjoy and that can take things up activity wize.I do push my eyes when I am tired, so I have been told not to, these days if I realise I may be getting tired I do try to go to bed then its usually not to late sometimes it is.As for rocking, thats what the stereo is for, especially if alone.I have cds and mp3s and such.If after that is done its enough.For a while I got into mudding and online worlds.That stuff is addictive, but if you havn't much of a real life, you could probably live an online one, just remember you may end up using your real life all up but at least you are living I guess.In my 20s, I had issues pulling myself away from my vertual online life, I could see the attraction of being a blob online.That was before the real addicting stuff started going about.But yeah its always an option I guess once most of my life is done, and I know my life is done, maybe I will go and live another life online and die there, well at least once I know I don't need to exist offline anymore.The issue is I havn't touched a lot of that stuff for ages now that I have lost touch with it.

a lot of support centres  seem to have people who first answer your call that just have a script sheet in front of them. I think they assume most people calling are just idiots and their basic script will fix the problem. if not, then they hand you on to somebody that actually knows what they're doing. or at least knows more than they do.it's bloody annoying. especially when you get questions like: can you tell me how many lights are flashing on your router and what color they are. and they won't carry on until you tell them even though you explain you can't see. there is often a language barrier to these places and I have had problems conveying the meaning of the word blind. makes you want to bang your head on the desk when you say, I'm blind and they reply, yes but can you tell me what lights you can see on the modem.

for me, it's not a matter of reflexes. I have decently quick reflexes it's more on the anoyance side for me. Some boss battles make missing even one or two scrolls very costly and I'm not perfect. Also, using this engine I'm able to set it to a level where it's not unbarably slow but it's just enough time to give me a challenge without being anoying.

But really, the real problem with this game is on those dragon scrolls cause some people has very quick fingers and timing and some people like me simply dont have that ability.That is why it took me more than a month for me to complete just the main game when i played this game three years ago cause i am depending on luck in casting those dragon spells.

I am not sure what to do about pressing on your eyes, but my parents helped keep me from rocking as a child by buying me a rocking chair. They also taught me to only rock in that chair, so I learned to rock only at certain times. I think I was two or three years old then. I am now 30, and my house has three recliners that rock. I can sit and rock when ever I want, and if I do it at home, I can usually be out and about and not rock. A porch swing might also help.

I love the openings to sc2 and 3.  Impossible not to get hyped to play every single time.  I'm playing the gamecube version though, as actually being able to play as Link is just too fun to pass up.  Plus his remixed theme is fantastic.  Mostly though I play nightmare, Raphael while dabbling with a few others.  2, 3 and 6 are absolute blasts to play.  Each character is so different so playing always feels fresh.  Just like killer instinct.

Hi,yeah, I actually thought about Sonifight being able to help there, but the emulator makes it slightly more difficult it seems. But for now I found out which charakter is which by the method suggested here. But if you get Sonifight to work with emulators some day, this would be a cool game to make a config for, actually. At least, I really like the game.

Hello everyone. I was out of the audiogame's community for a while, because I wanted to try something else. Indid I got stuck with Darkened's development. To be honest, I ended running out of ideas about the storyline, which I tried to rewrite because of it being too much shallow.I have left this project aside for some time before I came up with new ideas, so I could really make it's story better, and while studying new possibilities as well.Anyway i'd like to apologise for not saying anything. I still don't have any idea to write the game's story any further. I have thought on starting another horror game with a different story, but when I have finished Darkened Chain, I felt like it didn't turn on what I really wanted it to be.

Yeah, you do need 250 gems to unlock it. I haven't because I don't care enough about battle to spend gems, but on the other hand, it is the only reward I haven't unlocked, and even if I get it, I'll still have plenty of gems to spare.

I've been trying to think of a way to translate the guitar hero type mechanic over to audio in a doable way. I like this idea. The audiogame Rhythm Rage can serve as a nice example of what an audio version of Guitar Hero would be like. In my experience, I've been able to complete a lot of the Rhythm Rage levels, but a lot of that success came down to repetition. My point is that I'm curious about whether someone would be able to master the mechanic well enough to play difficult and unfamiliar levels with some amount of success on a first try. The visual mechanic of falling notes definitely can be mastered, but could there be as much success with the same thing represented with audio?

There's a strategy to computer-controlled battles. The AI players don't do well at all in certain scenarios, like the bank, for instance, but they do extremely well at busting gang members out of prison. I have no idea why this is, but that's how it works.

I think we're at the point where excuses just aren't going to cut it. Either you want to screw over your paying customers, or you don't. If you can't handle the criticism, then frankly, you have no business developing. You then further the insult by selling your products, then wavering on whether to continue their existence. It's not right, and it's not fair, and there is no 'trying' about it. I'm not stirring up things for the sake of doing it. I'm defending those people who have bought your games, who have supported you financially in other ways, etc. I don't think you'd like it very much if you were on the receiving end of this, rather than the dealing end of it. Here's where you have choices to make, you're at a crossroads, you can stop altogether, continue, but reform your practices, or continue and nothing changes. It really isn't that complicated when you think about it.

I've been able to lessen the frequency of this habit by having other things to do with my hands. When I'm alone, I take a pen and twirl it in my fingers, or flip it back and forth between my hands, especially when I'm listening to music. Unfortunately, I know this is just as socially unacceptable as eye pressing, so when I'm in public I do neither and usually end up just crossing my hands so that I don't have the urge to fidget or worse, feel weird and anxious because I'm not doing anything with my hands, which I find tends to happen. Once, someone asked me why I was praying because I had my hands crossed, so I guess that looks weird, too, but at least it's not as bad as stimming in some way.As to the actual topic of eye pressing, I've gotten to the point where I definitely don't do it in public, but if I'm particularly tired or stressed, especially before I go to sleep, I'll find myself doing it. I know that fidgeting with things does help, but if I'm just sitting and focusing on a podcast or movie or something, that's when I notice myself pressing my eyes the most. I've gotten good at catching myself doing it, though, and can usually stop within a few seconds, but it's the principle of the thing, and I don't know if I'll ever completely break the habit. It's not much different than adults who still suck their thumbs really. Both habits are harmful, but once you associate it with comfort, you may never completely rid yourself of that calming feeling you get when doing the harmful thing.

Kelik and song mina play similarly but not quite the same, but they are my favorite when it comes to well rounded with decent speed and reach. If it's pure power I want, then I take nightmare. Talem is my favorite new characters because of her swiftness and combo possibilities. Suffice it to say that although vertical, horizontal, kick and guard buttons are the same across the roster, the fighting style for each character is very different.

Why is it that a lot of the time when you contact any sort of tech support, it seems like they don't actually read what you spent time writing, and give you some sort of generic response... that's intended to fix a whole other problem?Context: I'm having a problem with Mortal Kombat 11, that is very clearly linked to something on the server end rather than my own copy of the game involving looping screens I can't get out of in a certain part of the game, but the game itself runs perfectly fine. I sent a support request to WB, and got back... a list of ways to troubleshoot hardware difficulties? Maybe helpful under different circumstances, but in this specific situation... not at all.This is just one example, but I've had other companies do this as well.

i would still like to see more population and resource control. for example, instead of having to buy peasants etc why not gain them from families same with soldures? as an addition to what's already available? managing food stocks? dwellings? a king would have to think about all these things. not all himself perhaps he'd have his advisers but they would still have to go to him in the long run for the final word. after all, you need population for war, without population you have no army. equally a well kept population will serve you better. better dwellings, food, ways of them earning money etc.

thanks for the help on the keyboard thing. I'm replacing my computer soon enough with another one that will have a keyboard that works just fine, so don't feel like buying a separate keyboard for a lame duck laptop, especially because the arrow keys are still good enough for everything else I play.Also, I suggested this before, but how about not only your own sounds for battle mode, but also customizable platform game music for mini-game mode. This will allow your imaginary character to be what you want it to be in a game rather than random generic guy. What I mean is, you could swap out sound effects in order to give your guy a special feel. I'm a fantasy nut so I think it would be cool to get the avatar in mini-games either sounding like a wizard or a knight. The knight is especially easy to do as they already have them in game. But if I didn't want typical run and jump sounds, and wanted to sound like I was wearing heavy armor, I could perhaps either unlock them through some achievement or scoring something or  use the rewards room. I have a couple ideas on ways to make this something worth doing and make it part of gameplay.1. threshold scores for worlds give you alternative avatars: If you score high enough on a world or do every game in a world, even though you usually don't have to do them all, you unlock an alternate avatar. For example, for "The Castle" if you either play through every game on the level in a single playthrough, unlock all games in that world, or get above a certain score in one playthrough, you get "The knight" or "the princess" which alters the basic common sounds for your character in many minigames, such as picking up an object, running, jumping, or dying or swimming. Other ideas for characters might be "The skateboarder" for the city, "The yeti" for the Ice, "The cowboy" or "The mummy" for plains or desert (haven't gotten to either world so don't know about that one enough to say what is better.) and so on.2. You could unlock avatars for leveling up with all the coins you collect or getting a certain number of objects, thus giving a point perhaps to leveling up.Just something I was thinking.

I'm totally blind, but I never had that habit. If I did have, It was in my childhood. This might sound a bit dangerous but you can put a little bit of pepper in the finger that you usually press your eye with, so whenever you touch your eyes by that finger you know you're gonna hurt and it's gonna give you some pain and this should kill that habit slowly. To be honest I haven't tried it, but I know that some bitter material is given to those who bite there nail to remove their habit.My syster used to have those stuff on his fingers when I was a child. She would work with computer for a while and then when I was the one who would work with the computer(actually, play with it), I would put my head on the table(a bad habit of myne), and even sometimes I think I would lick the tablecloth so the discussting taste of that material would go in my mouth. God urgrgrgrg I think I just could recall the taste gosh It was so bad lol

Hello, once again I had one heck of a snafu against the demon horde. I tried to take their camp at the demon gate and got my entire army decimated, even though I outnumbered them 30 to 1. What sort of tricks would you recommend for whittling down the hhorde to smaller numbers or making it so they don't slaughter you so much. they had about 1200 guys and I had about 36k and still only killed about 700 of them. Throwing everything I had at them and some of those units were really powerful monsters from independent kingdoms like ancient Megogs and nomadic witch queens and literally thousands upon thousands of halflings.I'm just wondering what I can do to actually beat them, since apparently even 35k guys, most of them soldiers and monsters, isn't enough.

Hello. Well for me, I would say that pressing on my eyes is a complicated thing, especialy if someone asks. Why do you always do that? Hmm, What? Press on your eyes, For me, i'v been doing it from I was four, and it's a thing that has always been with me. I've also seen it in some of my friends where they would rock from side to side. Now that i'm seventeen, i'm stil always doing it. I don't know, some of us were just born with a little habit. When I was four, I could remember my father telling me, boy, get your hands out of your eyes! and after that, he'd give me a little sting on my left hand, as that's the hand I always keep putting in my left eye.And now that i'm older, it's gotten bad, to the point that my left eye is syncing in. I agree with some of yall, it's not easy to stop or explane, especialy if you don't know why you do it. My friend always has to nudg me to get my hands out of my eye every so auffen. it's not easy though, for some it's easy to just stop, but for someone who's been doing it from since he was four, I can only try, but it's practicly built into me. Don't know. Is it instinct or something? I can never figure that out.

wow yeah, I got it, thanks, although it's a bit  lack of features, no volume up and down, and when you pause and unpause the program doesn't remember when were I pause  the movie, so it's like jumping a fiu seconds back when I unpause, and the subtitle become a mess.I wish someone could contact aprone somehow to fix this.and for pot player, I am not sure how to set the accessibility up.

It makes very little difference whitch character you play as, because the controls are the same for their moves regardless of witch character you have.  It all comes down to whose voice you like to hear.

Killing all of the shadows gets you the true sight ability which lets you see all hidden items and it also allows you to save your game from anywhere. This is also a good place to grind stella as well. Honestly, destroying the shadows is time consuming but is totally worth it in my oppinion. Yes, I agree, the music is pretty good and the dungeon areas aren't too confusing. I however, hate the key fragments part. That area just seems overly complicated for no reason.
