Is There an up-to-date list somewhere, or could somebody make one?

This may be posted about elsewhere, and if so, feel free to link to the appropriate topic. I am wondering if there is or can be created a list of accessible PC games that can be played using a game controller such as Play Station or XBox. I would like to get a USB controller to make playing games easier but would really like to know what games are playable and if some require a particular controller or will work with any of them. Even if some games keys can be remapped to buttons on the controller within the game itself or another program, I'd be willing to do that also.Thanks in advance for any help

First @Jack I've replied to the message.Unfortunately, I've heard some bad things about Bluehost in terms of that. I didn't understand what part of that song was saying, but I've heard other people tell me that they tend to charge you out the ass when your bandwidth starts going up.The one good thing about wordpress.com as it stands now is that with my 10 gb limit, I also get a 1gb max file size. Doubt I'll find that other places... but who knows, maybe? Either way, yeah I'm going to be really careful on this one.

You have to click the appropriate link you need for each chapter and enter your first and last name along with your EMail address to receive the link in your EMail for each one. This is because you are sent an activation code registered to your name even though they are free. I don't know why this needs to be this way except if they're planning to release chapter 4 at a special price if you already have these free ones.

I have an interesting non-grabbing story but it bears closely on deafness, and matters a little here.My place of work over the summer was downtown, and a lot of transients tend to hang out nearby. One of them, whenever I'd get close to her, would yell "A!" in a rather obnoxious voice. Well she scared the shit out of me the first time she did it, and I jumped. Every time I passed her, she'd do it (or so it seemed, anyway, since it was always from near the same place). I was later told by a coworker that this woman is in a power-chair and tends to frequent that area, and has a sign stating that she needs money and that she's deaf. Before this, I confess that one time when she yelled at me, I stopped dead, whirled on her and said, in a slightly louder-than-normal voice, "Stop yelling at me."Well, my partner happened to see her, described her a bit to me, and I then got the idea to ask my partner, who is sighted and knows some ASL, how to sign a simple message like "please don't shout". My partner described the signs, and the next time the woman shouted at me, I turned to her, made those signs, then kept walking slowly past.She never shouted at me again, and I know she was nearby because I could hear her voice sometimes (she liked to hum to herself, and her chair had a squeaky wheel that was unmistakable).Anyway, I presume that, being hard of hearing, she may have been shouting in order to let me know that she was there; she was a very small woman, and older, and I'm a fairly big dude, as I've attested to before, so she probably just didn't want me to steamroll her. I wouldn't have, but maybe she didn't know that. Either way, when I asked her not to shout, she respected it.Sometimes it does take a little bridge-building.

I mean there's the time I went to sit down onto a chair that wasn't there.Oh and let's not forget this classic. So, 7th grade, after playing for the middle school band spring concert I was headed back to the car. My family got distracted and I kept going onward I was tired, it was a late night.Finally I reach our car, reach out to pull the handle and instead of a handful of the metal door handle I instead ended up with a handful of railing... belonging to an ATV used for security and transport. I was holding onto one of the safety rails next to one of the passengers seats.As I turned around the number of people interested in my current doings increased and I wanted nothing more than to be swallowed up by the earth at my feet.Then there's the time I swapped drives in my desktop and forgot to plug the cables into the drive and then kept wondering why nothing was working.Then there's the time my VI teacher, first day on the job so he didn't really understand the inner thinking processes/methods of a blind person, though this was more my fault than his but still pretty amusing.Was headed down to the cafeteria to get some lunch. The doors to the cafeteria are these traditional double doors with a divider in the middle. To get to it, you have to climb up a flight of stairs, which can be said for a lot of the buildings there.As I was climbing up the steps he opened both doors wide and, well, somebody got owned. Some people say you could actually hear the thunk from the courtyard! Lol!Oh, and then there's this! Family and I were headed down to convention to see an old friend of mine, been friends for years but never actually met in person. We walked towards the escalators and things got hilariously terrifying.So I do the usual tests with my cane, find the next step, find out which way it's running. Great. Awesome. Then I step. On two steps at once. With one foot.My balance got thrown off and the hole time I was riding the damn thing I was bent backwards clinging onto the railing for dear life, looking vaguely like something out of the matrix.Yup, that sure was fun.Keep the posts coming this is a great laugh!

Here’s how things translate in my head. I know this isn’t what people are saying or intentionally trying to imply, but this is just how my brain is wired.Grabbing me or pushing me along equals you can’t do this because you’re not capable, you need my help, and I’m going to give it to you. Grabbing the tip of my cane equals I am attempting to take complete control over you. Being talked to like a child equals I think of you as either being less of a person or less intelligent simply because you are blind, and I need to use simple words so that you can understand me. Asking me if I want help equals I’m uncertain about the situation and I don’t want to make assumptions about you, so tell me what you would prefer me to do and I will do it So that I may learn how to better assist other blind people in the future. Also, I do have two more situations I’ve been in or I’ve heard about that I’d like to share. Remember the story of my friend getting grabbed in the driveway? Earlier that morning she was going out on an independent route to try to find the commission for the blind building. About 400 feet from the doors,  A woman who did not speak English came up and grabbed a hold of her arm. She then proceeded to drag her to the doors of the building, all the while she saying no over and over again and attempting to hold her ground. I know she didn’t speak English, but I also know this.  She did speak Spanish, which means that no in English is also no in Spanish. Also, assuming no isn’t a no in another language, she held her ground to try to make sure that she wasn’t going to get dragged.  It didn’t matter though, because it happened anyway. The fact that that woman did not know English is not an excuse, because you don’t have to know English to know that when somebody isn’t moving, they don’t want you to move them and you need to stop.I was walking towards Walmart one day, when I heard footsteps behind me. I knew somebody was following me and trying to stay quiet about it, so I turned to look at them to let them know that I knew they were following me. They must’ve known that I knew what they were doing, so they walked in front of me a ways and stopped. I wasn’t sure what they were trying to do, so I kept going.  I quickly found out that they had moved forward and stopped because they were trying to intercept me and grab a hold of my hand, and I was able to confirm this when I felt a hand grabbed a hold of me. I pulled away, then they reached out and grabbed me again after I said no thank you. I pulled away and stared straight at them and said, please, don’t. Thank you, but don’t.  They stood there for a good five seconds, then walked off. I believe the person may have possibly been deaf, because the only thing they did was grunt.  They didn’t say a single word to me, and apparently did not hear me say no the first time.  If they were deaf, I heard the deaf community also go through discrimination with people who can hear, so you would think that they wouldn’t do this sort of thing because they know how much it hurts when other people assume things about them.  If they weren’t deaf, why would they ignore me when I say no?  Regardless if they were deaf or not, why would they try to block off my path so that they could grab me?   For a cited person, if somebody tried to block their path, then that would be seen as confrontational. Why should I not see that the same way?If there are any sighted people who are reading this post, I’d like to ask, what goes through the mind of a sighted person when they see a blind person walking around outside with the long white cane? Also, why do people just grab others without asking? Why are assumptions of a blind persons skill level being made rather than questions being asked?

In the game I'm working on with the GDE engine, I have my own foot steps. I've created my own instead of using from specific libraries or other games. My footsteps are randomized as well. I'm very proud of the work I've done so far in my own game creation. I never thought I'd ever be able to make my own audio game.

I just had a few ideas. first would be for a way to know which missions aren't fully complete. so for instance if we click the left stick down, we're told if we're missing gold medal and bonus objectives and the name of the missions we're missing. it'll be way faster than scrolling through all the missions to figure out if we're missing stuff. Another is to have narration messages by pressing left stick down during a race. it's great that the game narrates this automatically, but sometimes, when I'm racing and paying attention to the notes, I tend to miss it. or else I think I'm in first and turns out I didn't hear the change cause I was concentrating on the racing portion. that's all. Hopefully that's easy to implement.

I would highly recommend Bluehost. Setting up WordPress was a breeze, when they say unlimited it appears they really mean unlimited, and their support staff are knowledgeable and helpful. I would, however,  suggest that you transfer your domain to an independent registrar like Namecheap before you get a hosting plan so that unexpected things don't happen if you decide to change providers or expand.

There really aren't that many free and good alternative web hosting services throughout the world. Usually, if you want something worth having, a little money has to be involved. I have heard of free .tk domains from somewhere, so that may be something worth looking into.

The only thing I know of that can create synthetic voices with AI is Lyrebird, and to create a voice for that, you need to read specific sentences. Obviously the CEO wouldn't make his  own voice and then let thieves, or anyone else, use it at their will. Lyrebird makes very clear that only you should have access to your account, and all of your recorded data belongs to you, so I'm a little confused as to how malicious things happened, unless Lyrebird was hacked or the thieves used another service that is prone to this sort of thing happening. But without the details of what exactly was compromised and how, the article is too vague to be useful to people who actually want to educate themselves imho.

As I said previously in this topic, I've been waiting for an accessible single player space colony game for a long time. I absolutely love the idea of taking a load of lost colonists from a few planetary explorers to  building and overseeing entire cities, nurturing their development, coping with an alien environment, and keeping things running smoothly.I appreciate the complexity that goes into making a game like this accessible, and am glad that one or two loud mouthed idiots haven't soured  entire process. As Jayde said, though theoretically accessibility should be automatic with most if not all games, in practice at the moment it takes a lot of  particularly specialised work on the part of developers, especially in games like this with complex interfaces, however I can say such work is very much appreciated and I look forward to experiencing the result when its ready.

@Jayde, we'll have to see, as I said,I was disappointed with Susanna's arc in the last few dark tower books and I was not a fan of Mia, and until I reread the series again, which I will certainly do, possibly together with my lady, I can't say much else.@guitarman, completely agree about the jokes in the rest stop. sometimes I think Stephen King just got into the habit of being crass or tasteless for shock value and often can't kick it, which means frequently even comparatively decent characters suddenly come out with dodgy stuff, like Willa suddenly telling David in the title story how she wanted to "fuck on a train." Sometimes, these crassness's have a lot of point, like the nasty jokes in Gerald's game Jessie remembers, sometimes though it feels rather gratuitous, indeed Norman in Rose Madder was waaay! overboard.Well I've done a couple more stories so thoughts incoming. Stationary bike:  I loved the premise for this one. The doctor in the first scene explaining the vision of the workmen in Richard's metabolism struck me as a bit overly King making a pretty obvious author insert (the doctor even talked like King's usual narration), but honestly, once the picture was done, the guys had names and we were cycling off I didn't mind since the story was just so wonderfully weird. I do wish King had either stuck some more incident in there, or made the story a bit shorter, indeed he basically said half way through "this is how these stories go," also I confess I was a wee bit disappointed when the strange road in Richard's body turned into a sort of amalgamated hymn to childhood cycling, however I was just so interested to see where the premise would go, and hay, king even surprised me with the ending here, especially with how he left so much up to everyone's imagination, rather than going the hole metafictional hog and suggesting, shock horror, that even Richard could be an idea in a book, perhaps a book by Stephen King. Probably not imiho as good as the gingerbread girl, but still not a bad story. The things left behind:  I was wondering where this one was going, what the items were and thinking the story was a bit disjointed, I only realised as things went on the disjointed quality had a bloody good reason. Massive credit to King for managing to write a sort of horror story themed around September the eleventh which didn't feel either excessive or cheap, and captured so much of the emotions a survivor of something like that would have.My only two  miner issues is I did think King reitterated the "we're not dating, but we might be attracted, but we're not because I'm married, even though we're still attracted" business with Paula a bit too much. Indeed as I said of Joyland King does seem to fall a bit too much into the harry met Sally trap of assuming men and women can't be just friends without some vague sort of sexual interest there. Second, what is it with King and flashbacks that just make his characters slightly scummy? Like his excessive jokes this just seems a bit too much and in because its expected, since if I am to have sympathy for the main character, telling us all about how he was nearly caught by his mother mastabating into his sister's underpants is just plane unnecessary. On the other hand, the ending hear actually made me cry, and I loved the final premise  of why the items kept returning, indeed capturing people's lives through random personal momentous they had hanging about the office is a heart wrenching way of thinking about a terrorist attack. Definitely a really awesome story, and one King clearly poured his heart and soul into for obvious reasons.

I'm not normally a huge fan of this sort of thing, but I liked what I saw here. Hey, at least it's not another FPS.I definitely can appreciate that there's a ton of work that's going to go into making this accessible, especially if it's a hex grid and not just a traditional one. I can't even imagine the math, so I don't envy your position.Basically, if it takes a bit of time, that's fine. Do it right, even if it takes longer, that's the main thing.I really don't love it when people make comments about how they're just gonna drop accessibility altogether if this is the response they get (not saying you're doing this, BTW, not at all). Because what it feels like is "not only do you have to wait, but you also have to play nice. I can take this away whenever I want, so be grateful", and that's not cool. It's true enough, but it's not cool. Insofar as it's reasonable, accessibility should be an automatic in game development, not a privilege. This is why I really appreciate what you're doing here.

ah found the problem I was having. Sometimes my NVDA gets into a state where it eats held keys down. So like in crazy party, I can't move  through menus because it checks to see if the arrow keys are held down. PuttingNVDA in to sleep mode fixes this problem, as does restarting it. So that was why my holds and my speed boost weren't working.

For me, it's not even about being surprised. It's about assumption.Most sighted people don't feel the need to guide one another. Yes it happens, but it's not common, because it's not needed. It is the exception, not the rule.Unless there's some sort of danger present - actual danger, I mean - every time someone grabs me or puts a hand on me, what they are saying, whether they mean to or not, is "you need my help", and I'm just not okay with that.A lot of it, I believe, boils down to something really simple. Sighted people do not like it when they see people about to crash into things. Look at how many times, for instance, a sighted mother will gasp or look startled or whatever when her toddler is about to run full-tilt into a wall. We try and save children from taking spills where we can because we don't want them getting hurt. And I think there's something reflexive in sighted people assuming that we need help, especially true if we're using a cane and it hits something. Without thinking, they just assume that hitting things = bad, so they want to stop it from happening. Still doesn't make it okay. For the record, I don't like knowing someone's about to trip and fall either, but where others might grab, I am apt to just call out. "Hey, watch your step!" or "Look out!" or whatever.I don't mind those of you who play it cool when you're grabbed or guided or whatever, but please, please do not discount the experiences of the rest of us. I'm not a shit-disturber just because I give people grief when they do what they shouldn't be doing. I'm not expecting them to be geniuses. "Don't touch" is not rocket science, it's common freaking sense here. I will never rip somebody's head off if they ask if I need help, but if they insist on providing help I've already told them I don't need, or simply on furnishing aid that I didn't directly solicit, I'm going to start out by being polite-ish and quickly lose my patience. I'm not your plaything. I'm not your good deed for the day. I'm not here to validate you and make you feel better about poor blind people. I'm not here to make you comfortable; if you don't like that my cane clanged off that light-post or stair-railing, tough; you'll get over it. As long as I'm not directly in your way or otherwise impeding your ability to get from point 1 to point 2 - and I try very hard not to do that - then leave me alone. Give me the respect I deserve. I don't have to earn that respect, I should have it by default. Not speaking up just perpetuates the idea that this behaviour is okay when it isn't. Nope. Not having it. Not buying it. Because even if your gentle hand on my arm is not a mortal offense, it is a problem. I'm going to react to it. And you're hopefully going to walk away having thought a little more deeply about an issue you really should know better about already.

Also bare in mind, sighted people do all this eye contact, none verbal communication stuff, so by the time someone gets into grabbing distance, the grabee has already seen enough of their vbody languages etc to know they aren't a threat. With blind people, there is no communication, no acknowledgement that the person being grabbed actually has feelings, the sighted person literally grabs first asks questions later.This is why as I said, I will always make an effort to be polite to someone who verbally offers help or asks me if I want it, even when the help offered is something rather pointless or irritating, like the time a very nice but completely misguided  waitress asked if I was sure I wanted my coffee cup filling to the top since I might spill it .

The big difference is that sighted people will end up seeing the other person approaching. We might not notice someone else, or disregard them as unimportant until it's too late, because we're focused in on listening and navigating. So, it is an invasion of personal space, at least to me, because one moment it's clear, the next you're being grabbed up. if you notice someone coming near you, and they're headed right for you, you have all that time to either take some sort of action, or decide not to. We don't get that choice. The person could be waiting for the bus, could be standing at the corner just like us, waiting for the right time to cross; or, as I said, we might not notice or disregard them because we're cued in on our environment ahead and to the side more than behind.

As reported by [motherboard]:Remember those days spent playing with Lyrebird, Googles WaveNet, or other speech synthesis AI's? Ahh, such fun... Well we all knew where that could end up, and that moment has come. The Wall Street Journal reported that thieves used a DeepFake audio recording to impersonate a Chief Executive to con the managing director of a UK based energy company into transfering 240,000$ to a Hungarian account to save on "late-payment fines", sending over financial details over email while on the phone. According to the director  the synthesis was able to imitate not just his voice, but the tonality, punctuation, and his German accent. The ruse was uncovered when the thieves called back demanding a second payment, making the managing director suspicious, prompting him to call the real Chief Executive, and being in the bizzare situation of talking to his boss whilst the deepfake copy of his boss was simultaneously demanding to speak to him.

Audio Deepfake Used To Steal 240,000$

As reported by [motherboard]:Remember those days spent playing with Lyrebird, Googles WaveNet, or other speech synthesis AI's? Ahh, such fun... Well we all knew where that could end up, and that moment has come. The Wall Street Journey reported that thieves used a DeepFake audio recording to impersonate a Chief Executive to con the managing director of a UK based energy company into transfering 240,000$ to a Hungarian account to save on "late-payment fines", sending over financial details over email while on the phone. According to the director  the synthesis was able to imitate not just his voice, but the tonality, punctuation, and his German accent. The ruse was uncovered when the thieves called back demanding a second payment, making the managing director suspicious, prompting him to call the real Chief Executive, and being in the bizzare situation of talking to his boss whilst the deepfake copy of his boss was simultaneously demanding to speak to him.

Once my english teacher walked me outside of the my library. She put her hands on my shoulders to guide. I asked why she and a lot of others do that. She said it is how sighted people guide each other. So here's my guess. A lot of sighted people aren't bothered by it, probably because they are not used to being grabbed. So it has become more of an acceptable thing rather than an invasion of space. In other words, socially acceptable, because they aren't constantly being grabbed or asked if they need help.But since we are, we see it as invading personal space, which it most definitely is. For us, it is not socially acceptable. We could either call it socially acceptable and see what impact that has, or we can continue to call it invasion of personal space, which again is definitely true, and what I will personally do.

Hi there,@1: what you're trying to do is called a nested class, and it seems like BGT doesn't support it. Other languages do have support for such nesting, however it's used only in special cases. For example, Android sdk uses R as a base class for managing resources, where nested classes like string store various resource types. The benefit is, that you can access any string like:R.string.credentialsMessageto get its id and display it. Although I personally don't get why r.string.x contains just ids and not actual strings, when the parsing is obviously already done, however that isn't only thing in Java, which doesn't make a sense. This approach is not very popular in general, probably because of the mess made in a class by nested code. Thus if you want to make two classes connected with each other, it would be better to give them to separate module.A module then represents a functionality, which is carried then by its classes. For example bgt_kit for Python has modules Audio, Input, Output, Initialization and Various, where for example Input module has public classes Window, KeyboardShortcut and WindowHandler. They are all in one module, because all of them covers user input in some way.Audio module for example has classes Sound and HrtfSound, where both plays sound using libaudioverse in bgt style. Audiocaching is done wia statical content, however if I wanted to have a class for this, I would make an _AudioStorage class, where the _ symbol means, that it's a module private class. What makes sense because I don't want the audio caching functionalities to be used anywhere outside the module, so making the class private will ensure module's encapsulation and make potential user more aware of what he / she is expected to use.So using modules, you can make a nice encapsulated structure, where everything is on right place and doesn't overlap with other code in a ugly way.And what is the best? It's that Bgt doesn't support modules, so you are out of luck again. I've been writing this, because when you'll expand to other languages, what you most likely will, if coding makes you happy, you will face this structuring of code and it'll be thus useful to know what's going on. in Python they're called modules, in C# namespaces, in Java & Kotlin Packages, in Rust crates, in Dart libraries, but it's generally the same principle.Probably the best you can do to separate things to modules in Bgt is to use the _ symbol before class name like in Python and hope that others will get what it means. Regarding to files structure, you can use either file = module model like Python, or make a folder for each module, where file = class and there will be one additional file called init.bgt for example, which could get included from the main program and its job will be to include all classes in the module, so they can be used.These are of course just ideas, Bgt has no standardized way how to do this, so you can use whatever you want. I'm so used to cues 2 speed I didn't even notice.I haven't encountered any holds issues. if you're getting it wrong, it probably means you're not holding it long enough. I think if you let it go early you also fail. I actually love holds mechanic.

I just tried playing with holds on audio cues 1. So I hear the sequence with the hold, i hold it as long as it's supposed to, and I get it wrong. Not sure why exactly. I do know sometimes one of the holds keeps going while another one starts, but sometimes the first one stops before the second one starts even when you're supposed to still hold it in. I was trying it on demon hustle on ultra mode, and then I encountered a similar problem on nothing like normal on standard difficulty. So I must be doing something wrong.Also, I was trying out fresh meat on audio cues 2 mode on standard, and I couldn't activate m speed boost. I pressed h when I had power in my meter, and held it down, but it just put me into hyperdrift.

Do you mean how to send your method as a callback to bass, so it can be called when the event occurs?Bass.Net has prepared delegates for this purpose, all you need is to pass your method with right syntax.Just keep in mind, that those delegates are sent to Bass and thus out of garbage collector's sight. So you can't just pass the method as an argument, you need to instantiate the required delegate, initialize it with your method and keep the instance while it is needed.You can also read about some special cases in the "Interoperating with unmanaged code" chapter of the Bass.Net documentation. Gears Of War 4 has had the issue for a long time now and, though The Coalition (TC) have apparently been working with NVidia to try and resolve it, numerous driver updates have left that game and, seemingly Gears 5, even during the tech test in July, crashing, freezing etc.  I doubt they'll have resolved it, but we'll have to wait and see.  I've not tried it on PC myself for this very reason, but may do so if I hear good things from that side of the GPU market.@9Horde isn't a small mode really, none of the modes are.  Campaign could be said to be the largest in terms of content, but I've already put probably over 20 hours into Horde at this point and I've had the game for just under a week.  I don't just play it because of accessibility, I do definitely enjoy my experience with it.

Nice idea with the holds! I have a suggestion on how to make them less annoying, but maybe I am totally off the mark here.I hear a stutter/repeating effect in the hold cues, which is what makes them most annoying for me. I'm only guessing here, but it sounds like you're looping a small part of the original drum sounds to try to make them hold. I think they would be less annoying if the loops were longer. Maybe put a big reverb on the drum sounds and loop that reverb instead? You could get a much longer loop that way that doesn't repeat nearly as often, if at all.At present I think the hold effect is quite a bit louder than it needs to be. The way I'm hearing it in my mind, you would hear the drum sound, and along with that, you'd hear the reverb I mentioned at a lower volume. That kind of effect is an obvious one, so it doesn't have to be loud, so long as it can be heard over the music and other sounds.As for a sound when you need to release a hold, I'm not sure if it's needed. Right now I'm leaning toward no, but I haven't actually tried playing with holds so my opinion may well change.hth

Just started playing with holds, already getting 28 out of 28. So end sound is probably not necessary, held sound indicator is plenty.I'm wondering something though. has the game been tweaked recently? like the note patterns? I noticed there are a lot less notes on the "not normal" mission, which I was using to test holds. I actually went into options, cause I thought maybe I somehow enabled the fewer notes checkbox, but it was definitely off. I've been playing on audio cues 2 recently so it surprised me a little. I do hope cues 2 is never changed. In fact, now that holds are in place, I would not mind at all if there was an option to enable visual cues for that mode. I would love to challenge sighted friends, and I'm sure we get the exact experience so there should not be any advantage/disadvantage for  anyone.

Years and years ago I used to know how to do very basic sewing, though it's been half a lifetime since I've practiced and I've since forgotten.Would anyone happen to know where I could find some resources for getting back into it?And yes, I am well aware that repairing broken stitching on things can sometimes be more costly and tedious as compared to going out to buy a replacement. @Dark, Harvey's dream I didn't like at all. I don't understand why he wrote it, it wasn't scary to me at all.Rest stop I liked a lot, especially when you see the old author's other side. I didn't appreciate his jokes, I've seen domestic abuse for years, mostly from my older step brother. He has the whole crazy boyfriend thing going on. Reading rest stop felt like reliving things from my past. It's interesting the guy writes about a character called the dog, but he seems to be mild mannered, then his other personality turns out to mirror what he writes. It felt to me like king was trying to make the point that writers have a thin line between imagination and the reality of things.

To the people who are borderline judging everyone else; it's fine if you want to accept this from other people. No one is saying that you shouldn't. At the same time though, you shouldn't be trying to make us out to be the bad guys if we don't like it. The simple truth of the matter is that it is not a socially acceptable way to treat another person. If it was a matter between two sighted people where one came up behind the other and grabbed them, I guarantee that it wouldn't go over well. So if that is the case, why pray tell does it change because the person being grabbed is blind?

I've tried HostGator, GoDaddy, and Bluehost. All of these are about the same in terms of features. All quite good in the services they offer imo! The problem with shared hosting is that there is always some hidden catch (i.e can't transfer more than a certain amount per upload, can't exceed certain bandwidth boundaries even though they say it's unlimited, etc). Just make sure to do your research ahead of time, and pick one that suits your needs. Some have an easy one click Wordpress deployment solution. Again, that's great, but just remember there might be some hidden limitation. I guess any service you "rent" from the internet is subject to limitations, including VPS. It's just up to you to figure out what you need. Honestly, if you start with either one of these aforementioned services, you can gauge whether bandwidth, storage, number of databases, etc are a potential issue. If you get a couple users downloading podcasts and visiting a few webpages a month, this might be enough. However, if you're listener base grows, especially your podcast listeners, you might find that you need a better solution, but that bridge can be crossed when you get there. But it is fun to experiment with different technologies. Hope you get things working because the StevenD podcast is pretty entertaining man!

If you're one of the people who got the free upgrade to Windows 10, you should know that that machine's days are numbered unless you got a top notch machine. But even in the windows 7 days you didn't have laptops with hyperthreading core i7's and 16gb of ram and high-capacity nvme2 ssd's. So while your free windows 10 will never expire persay, you're eventually going to have such a hard time running the thing that you might as well just get a new machine. And if you're going to, you would want to do yourself a favor and get one off the business storefront and not off the shelf. You'll have to give yourself a clever business identity (most manufacturers don't ask for verification paperwork) but that does give you access to the more powerful machines at their actual msrp.

You do want to be careful when you hear of hosting providers offering unlimited space for that cheap. Too often, those providers have a not so obvious 10mb per file upload limit. Perfect for text and images, horrible for audio and programs. That's their definition of unlimited. Migrating your Wordpress installation over to a new site should not cost you a dime, except it does if Wordpress Business costs $25. If you can get a trial of Wordpress business just to install and use Updraft Plus then I'd highly recommend that, as that was the solution we used when I was deployed to migrate a site over to a new hosting provider.To that end, I offer two solutions.a. www.qs-hosting.com. It's somewhat pricey, but you can rest assured that the 24/7 tech support and personable staff definitely make up for it.b. Check your pm's.
