seems to be happening to everybody. i've no idea why, doesn't make sence. only guess i can make is for some reason it's looking for a file on the server when you launch the game and that's broken. either that or there's been a windows update or something that's messing with it.

yep sounds like it's the unofficial ones that don't work. could explain a lot. all of mine are genuine and I get feed back on all of them. I did have problems with sf4 but that's sorted now. turned out that for some reason I had to launch the config after the game was running.

with a bit of playing about earlier I found that the sf4 and mk9 configs work if you launch the game first then alt tab out and then run the config and alt tab back in.

there are a ton of weapons in the sounds folder that have never actually been put in to the game. so no you can't use them in offline mode or campaigns.

I've had no stuttering sounds or lag so far but I should maybe try it out on my laptop which isn't specked out to hell. interestingly though somebody mentioned they had trouble with a system using a GTX 1050. I have the 1050TI and again no issues. I do have 32gb of ram but one slight glitch I noticed was running the game with jaws in the background. wasn't huge but I went to settings centre and made a new config that put jaws in sleep mode while playing and that helped a lot. also stopped it blocking certain keys.would be nice to have the option to play the game with video and sound support though. from what I can tell it's one or the other.

@cw the problem there is that people thatt lose their connection because of actual internet problems or what ever will be left on maps vonerable to be killed.in a fort battle, I really don't care. if people exit and it leeves them there for a minute, fine. hell if you've taken your armor off, not a issue.

well I can personally run off map 4 in way under a minute from the sz. if you have to run a defender mission and exit to get back to map 1 you are definitely exploiting a loophole and maybe you should look at if you are actually any good at the game to start with.actually I wouldn't suggest it now if you have a lot of stuff to lose but we used to do a challenge called running the gauntlet.you had to run from sz1 to sz4 with no armor on and use no meds. then run back again.the game has changed a bit since and the zombies hit harder but it was fun. I actually ran the gauntlet from sz1 to sz5 and back once but man that was scary.

@sovs isn't against the rules and doesn't affect the game. all it does is get people less pvp deaths like that matters. if you'd like I guess people who are lower levels could take their armor off so you can shoot them which results in the same thing as exiting but may make you feel better.

rocky makes an interesting point there. I just looked again and firstly, exiting from fort battles isn't against the rules. severing your connection or using task manager is, but again that goes back to siege attacks not fort battles. very different situation.now under the part that says:Taking part in any of these activities is a violation of the Swamp User Agreement and is grounds for having your Kaldobsky-Gamer account permanently banned:we have this interesting line:- Exploiting loopholes in the game that have not been fixed yet.@quacker I would kindly suggest you warn your clan about that because using defender missions or cmm missions to deliberately disconnect and jump you back to map one is a loophole that I know some people use a lot.

@quacker I see nothing in the user agreement about exiting or disconnecting during a fort battle. deliberately doing it during a mission is against the rules but not in forts. during seages is against the rules but I think that goes back to when you had to win forts by fighting raiders and killing them all. possibly needs to be updated. but there is no rule against exiting during a fort battle.

@dzsoker if you're still having problems try using my self installing version and see if that fixes it. link is:www.the-badger.co.uk/swampsetup.exethat is patched to the latest version and should automatically fix the dll issues.worth a try.if that doesn't work try updating your direct X. I can't see that being the problem because swamp uses an older version but if you've recently reinstalled you could be running a really out of date version.

it depends on the game but for menus the best way is to know what one of the items says, do a text search for it then scan for a changed value and move to another menu item then scan again. this should bring your results rite down. after that though you need to find the pointer chains which I'm still having trouble with. the guide does have tips on that though and there are links in it to tutorial videos in which he describes it pretty well.

@63, thanks for the walkthrough. I finally managed to get the code to the safe from that. still doesn't make sence though. spoilers!if it's to do with the notation I assume it's a c major cord? but it's tenuous to say the least.also found a bunch of bugs. for example if you save and the notes vanish on you parts don't seem to play through and you have to start again. plus if you do the keys in the wrong order which you can it seems to get a bit anci as well and won't carry on. i had a key left at the end of chapter one but it wouldn't let me use it on the east door. i had to do it over again.anyway though great game, just wish it was a lot longer but you guys are on to something really cool here. keep at it and you could make an epic game. i love it.

I never tried it on custom maps but as far as a I know the sheep works on any water in the game. you're only problem should be setting crossing points from one map to another.

I guess it depends on the coding language etc but taking input shouldn't be that much of a problem. playing in the dark were able to manage it for example for top speed 2 and above and plenty of other audio games have managed it.in top speed 3 you can easily set controls for sticks, d pad buttons, main thumb buttons what ever you'd call them, x, circle, triangle, and o or A B X Y or what ever, plus  shoulder / trigger keys.not complaining, just saying it would be a cool feature.but we can all say what would be good features but it comes down to what's possible. I'm just aiming at what is possible hopefully and hoping we don't end up with another flood of I want this, I want that requests.but I do still want force feedback. grins.

@Joseph, I can understand a key mapping system would be complicated for a game with so many key strokes but I think it could be tweeked to a fairly limited amount of things you could change.game controller mapping would be the main thing I think. being able to set what the sticks do, triggers or shoulder buttons etc. a lot of other stuff you still have to do on the keyboard anyway and so the options you could alter for game controlers maybe would be the limited ones you could change on the keyboard as well if that makes sence.although come to think of it, I have a 16 button flight stick here with a d pad on the top, rudder control and all that fun stuff. mapping something like that would really be a pain but be kind of cool to be able to turn by twisting kind of like using the mouse and things like that. ok I'm not expecting that kind of functionality, just sounded like fun. but does the game have force feedback? if it does it doesn't work on my controller. that'd be a nice touch too.

for anybody using a playstation 1 or 2 controller, I finally got round to working out how to do the snap rite and left. the trigger command doesn't work on these and for some reason l2 is what is classed as back and r2 is classed as start. so for example: fp_snap_left shift a | shift left | gamepad_backfp_snap_right shift d | shift right | gamepad_startthese could actually be l1 and r1, I can't remember how the shoulder buttons are labelled but I think I'm rite. the other 2 shoulder buttons seem to default to snapping to units to the left and rite anyway which is nice so I left it alone.I do think a nice addition to the game could be a built in key mapper and pad configuration option in the settings menu though.

yep seems to happen after loading the game. I just did it and it had taken the last 2 notes out of the collection.and this safe puzzle's driving me crazy.spoilers I guess:but it seems way to complicated than I'm probably making it. only thing I can think of is it's to do with the music notation thing. otherwise there's something I've missed and I've been everywhere and tried everything.only thing I haven't done yet is work out the marks on the table in the kitchen but there's nothing to read that with.can somebody pm me the answer? didn't know this game was still going. I played it a few years back and was kind of hooked on it although the dungeons can be really fiddly because they do actually have a graphical map on the screen as you open up different passages but playing with a screen reader unless you have an amazing memory you have to kind of map it on a spread sheet.there are a lot of puzzles and things to work out and unlock and it's great fun. just don't do what I did and get hooked in to buying extra credits to get special items and stuff or you'll lose a lot of money very fast unless the way they run it has changed a lot since.

tried the script you uploaded. looks the same as the one I'd made copying from the cheat engine forum. don't work though. dunno why. it's in the rite place and everything. wonder if it's because UK keyboards have the ~ key in a different place and you have to hold shift with it. tried that too and didn't work either. nor does the ` key which looks from the code like it should.

interestingly as well, although I doubt they'll bother changing it, the installer for cheat engine 6.7 doesn't let you tab to the checkbox for the bloteware it tries to install. I tried it with jaws and nvda and couldn't uncheck it. had to use windows magnifier which was still bloody orquard and not available to people with no vision at all.

cool. i'll try it. and weirdly, I'm using windows 7 64 bit as well and my mortal kombat works fine. it's just the sf4 that doesn't read menus which is why I'm trying to see if I can fix the pointers.strange my mk works though and somebody elses doesn't when we're both on 7.

I never thought to mention this on here. I've had beebEm for years. emulation isn't perfect but with some tweeking it's not far off and the tts option is fantastic for old text based games etc.there used to be an archive of games on www.stairwaytohell.com but I'm not sure if it's still there. I do have a bunch though if people want them.think I've got the hobbit, lord of the rings, twin kingdom valley, bored of the rings and a heep more. got hundreds of other games too but I can't remember all the text based ones off the top of my head.

I've got a problem with cheat engine. when I scan for pointers, I can't switch back to the main window without closing the pointer screen which is making life rather complicated trying to find changed addresses with the same pointers. does anybody know a way round this?

I thought I'd play it over again for a bit of fun but when I install the latest version it says unable to rename rpg.exe. installs the rest of the game but without the executable. I do know at least one other person is having the same issue and we're both using different anti virus software so I don't think it's a security thing.

@ironcross I'm using a ps2 controller on a converter so no triggers. but I think I should be able to remap it. has 4 shoulder buttons, 4 main buttons and 2 analogue sticks. plus the start and what ever the other thing is called button. i'll tinker about with it.

bought it when it came out. hardly played it so far I have to admit but so far looks cool although I was expecting a big intro when you launch it.manual is a bit messy and short but does the job. at the moment I'm trying to work out how to setup my game controller properly. I can walk forward and backward, sidestep but can't turn with it. there's probably an option in the control settings I'm missing but without being able to turn, or having to use the keyboard or mouse, what's the point in the controller. like I say, probably me buggering it up. I'm also thinking of waiting until the graphical version comes out too so my friends can play it. plus from what I've read there are a lot of bugs already.strange thing is, after all the hype, it's good from what I can tell so far. I'm sure it's fantastic when I get in to it but when manamon was released, within 5 minutes of playing the demo, I had to buy it. this one, I bought because it was the only way and I'm not gripped like that. I'm sure I will be when I really get involved.

i meant it took 2 weeks to complete for me the first time round. second time took me about 4 days while i had fun playing with things. then i haven't played it since. shame really. had a lot of potential but too short and never been made bigger.

size of the game is an interesting point actually. I think fully installed manamon was about 400mb but I could be wrong, was possibly bigger. and that wasn't self voiced. those sound files have to make up for a lot of the drive space. well I'm gonna buy it on Saturday when people have already got it and hopefully I'm going to have fun.and chowy, woof wooff

I completed final fantasy 1 through 7. loved them. 6 and 7 gave me headaches though because of the way the graphics worked and after that I quit. I bought 8 but just couldn't play it on my own.always loved those kinds of games though. first one I think I ever played was phantasy star on the sega master system. my favourite, after ff5 which is just the greatest game ever was called legend of legaia. very convoluted plot and very Japanese style but that thing was amazing. it's one i'll bet not many people played.

lol they did bloopers for grizzly gultch and possibly chillingham but they were obviously faked. one of them was sound effects of a guy walking in and saying his lines and falling over. how do you fall over when you're sitting in a chair recording the lines and the walking noises are pasted in over it?still fun though.

well if you can't beet'em, join 'em. so with all the speculating I think i'll play the chicken wrestler class and put all my points in to plucking, although when I play it again I may put them in to squark and egg finding. seeing as i'll be playing it 36 hours a day I've already layed aside plenty of food and had some serious bowel surgery so I won't have to leeve my chair. I've hired a tardis to sleep in so I don't miss any game play and I'm planning on using that to jump forward in time so I can buy the game tomorrow because I'm just so frantic and inpatient I've just about warn out my butt with all the rocking backwards and forwards and my head hurts from poking my eyes all the time. I wish they'd fixed my sarcasm chip though while they were working on the rest.

I noticed a while ago that when I use cheat engine and find the addresses and values I want, everything works fine. but if I save my cht file, when I close cheat engine and the game then launch them both the cht file doesn't find the same values and I have to do it all manually again.is my system changing memory addresses for programs each time I run them? and if so, why and can I stop it.reason I'm wondering is it may explain why certain features in sonifight configs don'w work for me. it's looking in the wrong places for the values it needs if that makes sence.

mine's reading when I move over objects and some other stuff but I don't know enough about the game to know what it isn't reading. I know on the intro now it says opened a lot when it's changing scenes and things and I can examine and walk about a bit.

ok tested latest 2 exe files and still doesn't read menus in sf4. only reads carictor selection screen and some output during game: low health etc.day of the tentacle is reading stuff now though.steam actually have full throttle remastered up there as well now. that could be a fun one if you can make a config for it. it's on offer at the moment as well.

@r3dux haven't tried the latest thing posted but I thought I had posted about my tests with the things you put out last week. one was able to read chars for sf4 but still not the menus. but sill nothing with day of the tentacle. i'll give those new fixes a try but all of my games say they're in US English now and only one that works properly is mk9. I have wondered about video card conflicts etc but they shouldn't cause problems with memory addresses and if that was the case, wouldn't explain why mk9 works and the rest don't.my machine is a custom built mongrel I guess but I can't see how there would be problems with is using the wrong addresses.2gb ATI 5450 video card, 4ghz devil's cannion I7 processor, 32gb ram etc. all runs like a dream but for some reason, not these configs.

lol just hit level 7361 while I was seeing what the objects I made sound like. I think people may be amused by the full metal jacket one for a little while but it started to get on my nerves after a bit and I made the bloody thing.the sheep are fun though if I do say so myself. keep flipping those sheep.

talking about steam though, I just reinstalled it because I'd been messing about with my video drivers and things. downloaded all my games again and for some reason grand theft auto 3, which worked fine before is saying I don't have enough video ram to play it. of all things it's saying I need at least 12mb of video ram. my card has 2gb onboard and my computer has 32 gb system ram. I can't get my head round that. everything else seems to work though.

steam is pretty useable with jaws as well. if you go to properties on your steam shortcut and change the target jaws cursor works pretty well on it. best to have steam not automatically launch with windows though as it won't pick up on that change.here's an example, with the log in details changed to example obviously because I am not going to give my steam ID out. lol"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -login exampleUsername examplePassord -no-dwriteso in properties, just add all the stuff after the quotes with your actual log in name and password and that extra string at the end.should let you launch steam and automatically log in and I'm not exactly sure what the other bit does but it does make jaws work much better with it. hope that helps and hope I explained it properly.

I was wondering about games like simon the sauceror as well. I have a copy of that remastered I got off gog. if it could take the input from the thing at the bottom that changes to say what things are when you arrow over them and read it out, could be doable. I think full throttle could be made to work too.

ok tried new config and still no joy. I'm baffled. also, just to make life even more complicated, I just bought and installed day of the tentickle remastered and that one isn't reading anything either. no idea what's going on. the only one that reads anything to me is mortal kombat complete which workds fantasticly. both dott and mk are showing as American English in the properties.
