Actually, it's funny that you bring that up, as I ran into that exact issue myself a few weeks ago and fixed it in my local copy. I can drop a version really quickly that fixes it among a few other small things. This won't be the big update I've been talking about, but it'll at least fix a couple of things in the meantime.

Hold down G and use your right arrow key to see how wide the hole is and how much space is left between it and the next one. This is a camera much like in BK3, Tomb Hunter Etc. Remember also that you can control how many tiles you move in the air by counting taps of the arrow key. I know it's been said in other posts but it can't be overstated.

Hmmm...It seems that if you  hit the inter key too quickly, ya will have that error message I describe in post 131.Especially if you have used a grinade or med-kit too uickly.or if a bom comes down at you and ya hit enter too quickly.

masonasons,could you consider adding or remaking this feature into the game?So, at level 3 to 4, enemies will start having pocket pistols which deal little damage but can cause a small amount of bleeding. this means, every 3 to 5 seconds, 2 points of health will be dropped from the target until an antibiotic is used.from 5 to 6 they will have swords which deal a medium amount of bleeding, 2 points of health every 2 seconds.and from the rest on, I think there are still enemies, there are machinegun wielding enemies. the machinegun isn't a large one, so it'll fire rapidly and a wide spread, it can miss the player and land next to them or before them, if the enemy detects that its bullet has hit the player it will keep firing at that position for a while. perhaps you could add small like boulders or something the enemies can shoot until it explodes and the players can hide behind to heal, before the chase is back on. thanks

I still don't really know which "bank withdrawal" method would work best for the game. We want something that's fun but not too complex or easy, but this is why I put several different suggestions in for how the idea could work. Who knows, maybe it'll be an amalgamation.

I like that a lot. +1 from me.@119 This happens because It was written in BGT, which most things detect as a virus now sadly.@120 only have one other thing to add to what 121 said. You must hold the arrow while jumping, not just tap it. You move further the faster you're running.@122 I wanted to do this, however the problem I see is that it could be used to potentially spam the scoreboard.

I've just had another idea that might allow for people to do that long killing spree if they wish, but, they'll have to earn it. Watch this!Not quite sure how old saves would work with this, but... what about a points bank? This might sound a bit complicated, so:Example: you have one point. You can buy an upgrade, press escape to keep on hand like it works now, or pick a new option/keystroke: store in bank. So, I've got 4 points. I buy an antibiotic, and I store the fourth point in the bank, rather than pressing escape to keep on hand with me right now. That's the thing, it depends really. I'm aware the more we ask mason to tweak things, the less challenging it can become, endless mode is supposed to be an arcade type mode, not a mode where you reach level 100 after hours of one session. This is why I'm so glad the antibiotics thing worked out because if they cost 1 point, you'd be able to buy an antibiotic instantly and just heal up, and I don't know if that would make things way to easy. The bombs and choppers thing is getting a bit predictable, could the chopper maybe spawn in a random range of directions instead, i.e sometimes to your left where the bomb is, but sometimes to your right, but still where you can hear it, otherwise you might not hear the chopper at all if it spawns right across the map, or an enemy might just destroy it. I don't really know what to suggest really.

Trouble is, more often than not, a bomb will just destroy it. I'm either wondering if spawn time, or location, could be tweeked because more often than not the chopper will get destroyed by the bomb. Note, this aspect should not be fully removed as it's also part of the fun, but it would be cool to have more choppers land. Alternatively, and I think this could be cooler, have enemies drop an ambush item for endless mode which basically does the same thing as choppers landing, this way choppers can just stay as they are.

Hey mason, forcefields didn't reactivate themselves in the endless mode. Also, if you try to use a hazard cuvver on an activ forcefield, The game will give you a runtime error.Edit. If you complete  part of a  level in the story mode, the game always retells the story before the next part starts.Edit. Oh. It doesn't reactivate itself because I can move on to the next level.

Not to add to the firestorm, but I do laso have the same question as regards scoreboards. Even if you're own code is messy, unless you actually need to update it for whatever reason, you can be reasonably certain that the consumer won't care 1 way or another. Not to mention, there are at least a couple of open source solutions available that I know of, one of which being Philip's PHP system, which also has the advantage of being easily portable to pretty much anything you can think of. Of course Ivan's system is also on github, though admittedly that is a very old version and rather limited in scope.Great to see you back again, BTW.

Sadly Mason deleted a lot of his previous topics, but he made multiple topics telling us how he was no longer going to charge for games, no longer going to screw people over with game-payments, on and on and on. And here we are again, a new year, a new game update to an existing game that keeps being shelved after months of support, only to have it come up as a new release the following year. I guess the question I'm getting at is... how do we know? How do we know you won't get upset at the game's code and remove endless mode. How do we know you won't add scoreboards again, only to remove them because of a server issue? How do we know you won't have one of your many outbursts on twitter and delete your entire website?I get the paid mode is optional, but removing features from a game with no explanation is completely absurd and leaves a bad taste in people's mouths.This has been a thing for the last 5 to 6 years, and I'm personally getting tired of it. While I enjoy some of your games, it's sad to see them get put through an endless cycle of release game, make game paid, remove x paid feature, discontinue game, update game as new release, rinse and repeat. As a game developer myself, I think we need better games, and it's time to start reflecting on how we conduct ourselves on the forum and it's important to be aware of the content you are putting out. As I always say, quality over quantity.

Ooh, thanks for that, Chris. I can definitely add ambiences to Endless mode.Re the lives system, you do not actually have lives in endless mode, however lives are still announced. This is an oversight on my part. I'll get it fixed for the next version, thanks!

It would make things a little more interesting if each level in endless mode had some ambient noise. There also appears to be a bug with lives. I'm told I have 5 lives, but if I die once, the game is over. Is this supposed to be how it works or is the lives system broken?

Hi guys,After a very extended hiatus from me (Well needed, I think), I'm finally here to bring you something I'd been working on during part of that time. It's CrimeHunter version 1.3. First, I'll start out with what is CrimeHunter, and then I'll explain what's new in the new version.So, what exactly is CrimeHunter?CrimeHunter is a side scrolling adventure/fighting game that puts you in the middle of an action packed story. The short version of the story is that a gang committing crimes and robbing peoples' houses has entered your town and you have too many prised/valuable posessions for them to get robbed. It is your job to fight your way through the town and eventually through buildings and other things to defeat the gang. This is all I can give without spoiling the story line too much.What's new in 1.3?New in 1.3**Endless mode:**Endless mode has received an almost complete redesign. Here's what's new.You now get points that you can spend at the end of each level.Press P to check how many points you have.you now automatically teleport if you are at the edge of the map and the level is over.After a certain level, enemies throw grenades!You no longer start each level with an enemy on top of you.Your speed starts at a low level and increases as your level increases to add more of a challenge. Your time in the air when jumping also decreases as you level as well.Hazards no longer spawn on top of each other.A random surface is selected for each level.Leveling up is completely different, and the board is generated a lot different than before, so as to allow for (hopefully) truly endless play.Fixes a bug which allowed enemies to flop off the map and thus causing the level to be uncompletable.Fixes a bug where doors spawn multiple times.Door now spawns when an enemy dies rather than waiting for the body fall.Bombs and choppers should no longer spawn after a door has spawned.A sound now plays when the door spawns.Going through doors now works y independant. Meaning you can jump through the door.Enemies can now use knives after level 10, swords after level 15, and machine guns after level 20.Boulders can now spawn after level 15 or soEndless mode damage now works properly.**other**Boulders can now get hit by force fields and fall into hazards.Choppers can now attack enemies and vice versa.Enemies can now attack each other and go after each other.Bombs and grenades can now hit airborn choppers, assuming they are in range.Fixes a bug where enemies and thus items could go out of bounds.Fixes a bug where you could not throw a grenade if an antibiotic was in use.Fixes a bug where you could not attack enemies that were right on top of you (Thanks Maddy for reporting)Fixes a bug where you would not hear bullets hitting you from the left.Adds a prompt when you exit.Removes menu music volume could not be set error.Items should no longer be able to fall below your character (Thanks Shane and NS for reporting)Weapons now travel a lot quicker.Enemies no longer drop items when they fall, but when they die.Grenades now explode a lot quicker.Merged the game engine and runs counter into one menu item.Removed the now useless scoreboard stuff.Fixes a bug in level 8 part 1 where if you died, the boulder's position would not reset causing you to lose all of your lives and die.Fixes a bug that broke level 8 part 2 by not clearing the slope data.Downloadhttp://masonasons.me/pages/CH.phpPost here if you have any questions or bug reports.
