I'm sorry to get your hopes down, but don't expect something at all before the full version has been installed on your computer. Staindaddict, are you stating that it's not possible to produce concept demos without also having a full game prepared as well? The speculations about Jyro22 not even having a full version for these games are completely reasonable. Concept demos do not prove the existence of a full game, nor do they prove that one is in development. A concept demo such as the one he provided to us could be whipped up in a couple weeks time, depending on your development speed, resources, available time and willingness to develop. So until concrete proof can be provided, I.E. An actual release or some proof of progress, though they might seem out of proportion, theories of scam and the non existence of this game entirely, are, logical. At work, Jyro22 would've already been fired from his job, for not completing something that had a deadline of a month before, in fact he'd probably have been fired for not having it completed after a week. And yes, comparing this to a job is reasonable
  because again. We're dealing with real world money.

sorry people, but this time, i agree with Steve. hey, he is really stormy haha! ok, jokes apart, he is right in the fact that jyrO stated that the game was finished, and he needed to re-pacage only.That, is the most easiest thin in the world, you can pacage and make a setup file in no time.I understand that sometimes you can't reach the release date, and there's no problem with that, but in this case, if the game is already done, why not release it to the customers?.The excuse of saying "calm down, griff has no release date set", is a bit strange, to not say ridiculous.if you come here and the main post sais that the game is finished, furthermore the mail that the customers got after purchasing states that it is only a matter of mere ours, then that excuse of the release date makes no sense at all.I suported, and i'll continue suporting jyro, because i like is games, and i have no problems at all if i have to wait.But let's

Everyone is entitled to their oppinions, and I respect that. You can agree or disagree with me, it's completely up to you.When you say there's probably no game; however, I thinmk that's a little rediculous. Why would Jyro just be making us think there's a game to get our money? Do you have any idea how much trouble he can get in for that? There are demos for both Edge of Winter and Griff, what did he just throw those together in a couple of days so we'd think there was a game? Come on guys, really?Like I said in one of my previous posts, I too, am frustrated. I don't know what's taking so long for the games to come out, and I wish they'd hurry up and get released. My last comment is that I will start to care about those games when I have my full copy of Edge of winter which I have preordered, because there was a release month. actually steve, you can't compair audio game development to a job. Developers for audiogames set their own dead lines and they don't get fired from anything by anyone, since mostly audiogame developing is done by only one person.

Indeed, and Jyro set his deadline for a month ago and bound it with people's money. That's more than a casual "I'll release it on whatever day at whatever time". Whether it's 1 person or 100. When a product is being, sold, it's much more serious than that informal toss out of a free game, something that if you promised it to someone and din't have it a month after you promised it, it wouldn't be a huge deal, because it's just a free game. It would be a bit annoying, but just that.

Besides, if he was really a scammer he wouldn't have released Airik and Kurt Wolf, which, I need hardly point out, he ultimately did. That's why, as frustrating as this situation is, I do believe that we will see both Edge of Winter and Griff sooner or later. Not only that but if he wanted to just create a concept demo for the purpose of scamming he could simply have slapped it together with synthe voices. Instead he got actual human actors, fairly good ones in my opinion, for the game's characters.

Alright, this might sound a little bit harsh, but seriously enough with the whole shpeel about how we need to be greatful for this developer, that complaining might make him leave, Etc. Understand that when this dude became a developer, he did it by choice. No one made him. And if he was unprepared to except criticism, complaints, and rants for his less than satisfactory behavior, that is, to be brutally honest, his and only his problem. Also, to the person talking about mainstream games costing in upwards of $60, may I kindly ask where it is you get your information and from whom you are purchasing these games? As has been pointed out previously, there are numerous games in the mainstream industry, with more turning up frequently. While there may be some that cost $60, definitely all of them do not. And yes, I understand that no audio game costs this much to date, still this is no counter justification for people being angry and complaining at a developer who is incapable, as he&
 #039;s demonstrated on multiple occasions, of fulfilling his promises. Sure, he's done this before, and anyone paying close enough attention to his previous screw ups could accurately conclude that buying from him is not exactly the best idea, but it is not the player's responsibility to keep up with the developer's every move. Bottom line, if someone is told they will be receiving a game if they spend the money on it, and they actually spend the money on it and don't get it, it doesn't matter the reason. It doesn't matter that the developer made some oh so crappy mistake. It doesn't matter that he's "one of the few developers we have". His feelings, don't, matter at this point. This is a business transaction, and if a user traded their money in for a game, it is expected that they get the game or at least a refund. Because guess what happens in the real world if you are paid for something but don't give it? You get the law
  thrown on you, or in the very least a very nasty email with, and I point out this word with emphasis, complaints. Lots and lots of complaints.

I really really wanna see them, I'm super excited to play his numerous games. And curse ye oh mods for not putting links to all of those great titles!  Oh wait, never mind. Mods, you're forgiven. I understand, you don't put links to audio recordings on audio games.net. Jyro, the confirmation emails were nice, but did you seriously have to make people pay $15 to read fiction? Bryan P, you would understand it if you'd paid for the game, been told it would be released soon, and after a month still hadn't gotten it. This was money that these guys or their parents worked for, and could've used for living expenses or perhaps other games. I understand you might just be trying to be a bit nice to the guy, but if you were to have paid for it and been told you'd get it in a few hours, you'd be likely having the same reaction if it wasn't here after 720 or more hours, which is certainly more than what I consider a few.

I swear now I know why we lose so many developers. The complaints are getting really rediculous, and I wouldn't be surprised if we lose Jyro here.. Pretty soon, he'll say why should I be making games for these people who don't even appreciate them.Omg, you paid $15 for a game.. I'm sure that' sgoing to put you without groceries for the month. lol It's not like in the mainstream world, where you're paying like $60 a game, and then how much would you be complaining if it didn't get released on time? I don't even want to know.I  preordered all of his games, too. Even Airik 2, which I haven't heard mentioned since I preordered it. I preordered Edge of Winter, the other two games that we haven't heard any news about, and this one here, Griff. You chose to preorder them, and that was your choice. There's nothing you can do about it, there were no release dates set on any of the games, so just shut up and wait. 
 Stop crying, it's just a game, that you will see when it's ready.

The fact is, complaining never helps any situation, but humans do it anyway. And at post 168 I believe people have the right to be angry if they put down any sum of money for a product that they are unsure they will receive, -- what proof do they have that this is a trusted developer? From what it sounds like, he/she is developing all 3 or 4 of these games by his/herself. Similarly, there may indeed have been no official release date, but if the confirmation email did indeed state that a copy of the game the individual had just ordered would be delivered to them on the day of, or at max a few days following, their order, then they are within their right to deem the c

The thing is, most of our developers are one-man operations, sometimes if they're lucky two or three. And even Jyro later admitted that his original post was misleading. Should he change it? Probably. But I agree with what Staindaddict said. People know that Jyro has a history of being tardy with his releases and should have kept that in mind.

True. This is exactly why I didn't order, because of what happened with edge of winter. I actually would've pre ordered edge of winter, after Christmas, but now that I've monitored and found out what I'm dealing with, as far as I'm concerned Jyro22 is already a lost developer. And this is just my personal opinion, I am in no way attempting to sway anyone towards it.

But this developer has a history of not delivering on on/when he says he will, so when the people who preordered the game preordered it, they should've kept that in mind.Am I frustrated with the games not being released yet? Of course I am, but wining about it is going to get us nowhere, and if it keeps heading in the direction it's going, we're just going to lose another developer. We hardly have any left as it is, so I wish people would just stop it, and appreciate the products they're getting when they are released.

Very valid point there, sterlock. I actually did think about this, and came to the conclusion that that must have been what happened. A demo like this could be coded in... what. a few days, 2 weeks tops if you know your programming? And from what I can tell, all the voiceacting is actually done by one person. Another point to raise here is if this game was oh so ready for release and only needed seperating the demo from the full version, zipping up and uploading,  then why did he post a second demo, if he could have included the fight with ruckus in the first if it was all ready coded? Also, I think that one month should have been more than enough time to do the work required to get the full version out to people.Same with edge of winter: What did we get at first? A bunch of videos made from audio which was cleverly edeted together to make it sound like the editor was playing a game. Next, we had the manual, which could have been posted right after the "demo" 
 videos. But instead, giro had to come up with a control skeem, a story, and game mechanics to make the non existent game seem exciting so others would buy it. Next, we had the demo about... what was it, two months later? And yet again, that demo was probably coded just to keep customers happy. And now where do we stand with both games? An announcement from giro, telling us that the game should be here in the next full days for the people who preordered them. The confirmation emails took this a step further, saying that the game was all ready done, and only had to be zipped up and uploaded to be sent. In the emails which were sent out for griph, we were promissed a wait time of a few hours at most. With edge of winter, we were constantly offered release dates which mearly stated september, october, and after november, no more release dates at all. This leeds me to believe that there are no games, no full versions, and the money from preorders is probably all ready gone. The con
 clusion of this rant or what ever you may wish to call it: Never, ever, under any surcumstances buy a game from giro22, even if it could save your life, your pet's life, your familie's lives, and the hole world besides.

What do you expect, when Edge of winter hasn't been released yet? So many promises has been made, so many announcements, and other things to keep people excited, but nothing yet for those who have preordered the games. I'm done preordering anything from this developer, and I'm not buying anything until the games I have preordered has been released. I don't expect anything at all until the full versions has been released. Demos are great, but that's not what you expect when you preorder something. When the full version has been released, then there might be some bugs which needs to be fixed, so it might take very long time. Well, I have other things to care about, and the announcements from Jyro can't make me excited for one second. Not anymore. I'm done.

Hence why I'm glad I didn't preorder it. Granted I don't necessarily believe this is a scam so much as another case of him getting overconfident and then not being as ready as he thought. I sometimes had those thoughts about the initial release of Airik the Cleric in the month or whatever before it came out and I turned out to be wrong. I'll grant that he could certainly be go about this in a far better way but I don't believe this is a scam. If it was I'm sure we wouldn't have gotten full versions of Airik or Kurt Wolf. I agree that this delay has otten ridiculous in light of all his "shortly" repetitions, but if this was a serious scam he surely couldn't have gotten all that much from only charging fifteen bucks for the game. It would take a lot more preorders than he would have gotten from this community to make that worthwhile.

Hi,thanks for your patience and support during our development. I want to point out that Griff does not have a release date, so you can relax. I also want to point out to those feeling concern over the negative scam claims, that it is provable that we have published games for Steam, the Android, iPhone, Facebook and PC. We also have numerous completed audio games. Note also the care which seems to go into the level of real-time play and fun characters that clearly took a lot of thought to conceive. If my games were a scam, they wouldn't be starring mainstream voice actors or contain such well developed concepts as a winged lion who turns enemies to gold and shatters them, gliding through various realms with characters which seem to have relationships to one another. Scams don't have such qualities. Not to mention the many menus and sub menus, shortcuts and controller support. The only thing that seems obvious to me is that you shouldn't listen to the silly cla

Hardly any bugs? Sometimes taking two or more steps with a single tap of an arrow strikes me as a bug. One wonders if it's a quirk of the game engine they use to develop.

something i've noticed, is when you press the arrows instead of holding them, you move much slower. i mean, when you hold the arrow to walk, and if you move for example 5 steps, the distance will be greater tan doing 5 steps with simple arrow presses.

LOL I just realized that the tone sequence when fighting the Centaur sounds a lot like the organ sequence you have to play to unlock the back door of the church in Chillingham. It's not exact but I'm pretty sure they share the same notes. Just something I realized while playing. Those Midas Gloves kick serious arse. Question though. Will gold actually serve a purpose once the full game comes out?

Naruto is right. Plus he's gotten the jumps down perfectly, so have I. It doesn't double up steps or something, it's just an indicator and it sounds more organic. It's not really the type of walking that you count the steps, there's no scanning or anything. You just get the feel for it after a while, it works. @dd, it runs in windowed mode, so make sure it is actually the actively selected window, otherwise you'll only be able to hear the music. okay this is strange. Gyro says that the game is all ready completed, and he did upload a demo. Now I have two points of interest to raise.1: Why did he upload the demo only about a week after the ennicial announcement, when he could have uploaded it right after he announced it instead? after all, he did say that the game was all ready finished...2: If he uploaded thedemo all ready, why did he upload a second demo, if he could have uploaded the second demo before? This once again would actually have been possible, because the game was finished when he announced the game. After raising these two points, now I'm wondering if he's actually ust stawling for time with these demos. Perhaps, he only started coding after announcing the game. Perhaps there's nothing finished out there.

That's the point. I tried that and I still dide, hence why I suspect it's bugged. I usually have to take three or sometimes even four steps before I jump. Once I get the wings it's a bit diferent but before then two steps usually isn't enough to clear the pit. Then as I said earlier he sometimes has a tendency to take two steps with a single press of an arrow.

There's no such thing as bug free software. But I agree that jumping or at least walking is bugged. This is sad because I genuinely like the game.

Hi everyone,I think that jumping over pits in this game is bugged. I take two steps on the gravel, I press the spacebar and the right arrow to make Griff jump over the pit and he dies. I would like to play a stable and bug-free demo version of this game, not one that contains bugs. What's going on with this game? Is the developer joking when he says that this game is released or not? In my opinion this looks more like a prototype version and not a bug-free playable demo version because I'm finding it very hard to jump over the pit. Honestly, I think that the developer behind this game should make a greater effort to remove all of the bugs encountered in this game so that blind customers can enjoy playing this game without any bugs.Thanks,André

I also suspect the Centaur fight may be bugged since it just sits there playing notes, laughing and punching us and the arrows, space bar and control key don't seem to do anything.

About the centaur fight, you must match the notes before you can punch him.Jumping is not a bug, it needs some practice to do it.

Hi everyone,I also discovered that walking in this game is bugged. Instead of pressing the left and right arrows to walk one step at a time I actually take two or more steps forwards or backwards respectively. I would also like to play this fantastic game but I can't do this because of tthese two annoying bugs. People keep saying that jumping in this game takes some practice but I suspect that jumping and walking are, in my point of view, the problems that need to be fixed as soon as possible.Best,André

When you take two steps on the gravel, then jump and hold the direction and you still die even after landing, that to me is a bug. Heck, last time I tried I died even after taking three or four steps on the gravel before jumping. And as was also stated you sometimes take two or more steps with a single press of a direction, which I've also seen in Breakerbox's other titles. As for the notes in the centaur fight  couldn't play any of them so I couldn't match them.
