Re: Dreamy train @Douglas, okay have the update now, I'm liking some of the sound changes, though I've not run into any of the new stuff yet, still, I've only just been refamiliarizing myself with some of the training courses.I appreciate that the Japanese spoken voices are a great thing for those who can understand them, but personally I find them a wee bit distracting when I'm trying to listen to NVDA's English translation, so I turned them off, as I did in Shadow rine. it'll be nice to get back into this game though, I remember finding it quite relaxing during a very stressful time last year. Post 2 pretty much nailed it, and there are other apps like q-translate as well, though that does require some additional tools like something to automatically read your clipboard aloud. However, of course it would be very teadious to copy the text, paste to Google translate, and get the result every time. How are games actively translated into English (re: Dreamy Train) I've seen some mention about a game called Dreamy Train on here recently and the description of it peaked my interest, until I saw a not-so-helpful note in the Audiogames Database saying that a translator app can be used to translate it into English.I don't have an Android so can't use Google Translate as the description suggests (plus I don't even think this is a mobile game.)So I'm rather confused at this point. I'd like to play this game but don't know how to translate it. Think stuff like the limited time events in games like Alter Aeon or Fortnight, but on a more local scale, i.e, they are programmed into the game itself and will happen the same time each year. I notice that Dreamy Mode, Free Run and Dreamy Shop are in English, but Train Museum and the other main menu items are not. I have the language set to English in the hopes that new translations will come, little by little.I figured that translating this game would be easier than, say, Shadow Rine, but when I look at things like the detailed materials for trains, maybe not. Plus, there's the self-voicing only announcements, such as on the local train lines.It's not a huge deal, as the new Google Translate does wonders to things like Shadow Rine, but while reading train designs, when it attempts to translate the placement of everything I find it difficult to read, even with translation.Just enjoying making my way through Dreamy Mode and look forward to unlocking it looks like two other leaderboards to try and gain entry into.Edit: Does anyone have Bladestorm's old guide handy, specifically in regard to getting better midi sound fonts? It might make the BGM sound a lot better. Speaking of BGM, why is it that only one special developer birthday course has BGM? While it is more of an arcade train sim, most of what you would hear are the sounds of selections from the menu, the translation of where you're going on the fictional continent and then starting and stopping the train. There is a little more to it than that, but basically there's only two controls, accellerate and brake, and there's a horn you can use to get bonus points at certain areas of the track. I imagine you'd probably get a little bored sitting and listening to between 5 and 30 minutes of synthesized train sounds per track.I honestly only bought the game to support the developers who made ShadowRine in their future projects.@FabiG94:The demo only lets you play two courses of the tutorial. In the full version, you can finish the tutorial tracks. Then you can go on to play around 10 other courses, with more being added soon, and purchase other trains. You can also buy articles in the train museum to see what the specifications of each train are. You can buy support items that let you double a train's speed, earn you extra points and make you unable to lose points for a certain time in the shop. They may add more features later, but that's mostly what's in the full version.The game is unlocked with a license key. The numbers translate properly if you hit the space bar when you're already in the speed limit zone, but of course by then it's already too late and you'll lose points adjusting your speed. The entire premise of the game is based off of a fictional world from a game called Hatyametya Adventure, which is a text RPG made by Yokojiko. As has been stated earlier in the topic, I think Galaxy Laboratory was going for an arcade-style game here, not a super realistic train sim. Comparing it to other train sims that are going for an operating experience as close to driving a real train as possible is likely not going to turn out well. I'm not sure when I got that list, I just remember that I had to accept multiple messages displayed in japanese that I wasn't able to translate and that I didn't understand. After that, I got a list that I was able to navigate with up and down arrow keys, and there I was able to select NVDA by navigating to it and pressing Enter. So I'm not really sure about your question.Orin, it depends on what kind of train you are talking about... those aren't what the modern day Japanese transit system sounds like, at least not in tokyo where I was about a month ago. And from what I understand of trains which is very limited, they actually do work that way... once you set the master control there's not all that much driving to be done as you said, they turn on their own.
