I think the reason is simply that the whole game engine is developed and interpreted in _javascript_, which effectively constrains what it can do to the browser or renderer that its in. If CoG started allowing accounts to be synchronised they would suddenly be creating a dependency on the network, though theres nothing stopping them doing that in a safe way that gave the user control over when to sync or restore.Of course, on iOS their app could store session state in iCloud, but that only works for other iOS devices. Does the web store let you download what you buy or playing locally in your browser, or must you be online to play it?I do appreciate the fact that I can be offline on iOS. When I have had no connectivity, the worst part has been being surprised by one of those in-app purchases. Id sooner Upgrade to everything (which is very satisfying, and makes me feel good about helping out CoG) as soon as I start my game, then wander off to play it when Im at dads where the coverage is useless. The offline access is another point in favour of playing on Ios and something Ive used myself too as opposed to playing via the website directly.Regarding in ap perchices, well apart from removing adds in the free games, the only game Ive run into in ap purchices with so far was Zombi exodus, and what I did was used the start at episode option to go and buy chapters 3-5, so Ive got them all to play and wont need to buy them later, though then I reset the game and started from the start. Its a bit of a cheat but i do agree with you its better to have the hole lot available. actually it might be nice if when you started the game you could directly go to the in ap purchice page and buy all further parts so that youve got them when you need them, rather than specifically having to buy them later, but I dont really mind too much. Its annoying to have to go and choose which computer I want to play on because as soon as I login to another one I have to start that game all over again. It does seem a little odd that accounts on the choiceofgames site are machine specific, I thought they wouldve worked like accounts in Browser mmorpgs where you can use whichever computer you like so long as you remember your E-mail address and password. I suppose though it might be a symtom of the games being ported to systems like Ios, sinse Im fairly sure that while your gamecenber account would remember your achievements from game to game, your actual save is machine specific, though as Ive only got the one Iphone Ive not been able to test this. Im really vague on the details though, having never used it myself. although I probably would if I knew a bit more about how it works etc@ogomez92, if you go to cogs website,and play one of their games online, you will see a button I.E $2.99 besides the other links for the appstore,google/crome store etc. if you click on that button, you will be able to enter your creditcard info and can play the hole game online on your browser instead of the demo.@Jason, I do have a few questions when it comes to buying game on the webstore. The first question I have is,how does it recognize that you indeed have bought a copy of the game. Well buyying games directly from the site as opposed to using Chrome or whatever is a new feature hence why you might not have seen it before when you visited. @Grryf, its an account based system, when you hit buy youll be asked to enter your E-mail address and password. As Jason said in the other topic cookies are used to save your progress, but if it stored your perchices via a cookie itd be a little unfare sinse one temporary internet files recet and pow!As I said above Im actually pleased the Choiceofgames site has this option to play on Windows, indeed if I hadnt bought an Iphone thats the option Id be using too. Yep, its just creddit cards they accept though if you contacted them theyd probably suggest a way you could directly donate if you wished (theyre hardly going to turn down money). , but to be honest though, I wouldnt donate to choiceofgames anyway, not because I think theyre not worth it but because there is already such a good lot of stuff to buy from them you might as well give them your custom by buying their games and (on ios at least), paying the bit extra to remove adds in their free titles like Choice of the dragon. This also has a vague bennifit with vo sinse if your using continuous read and the add pannel changes, your continuous read stopps and youll need to find your place and start off again, although its not crucial, particularly sinse with vo youll probably never see the adds anyway as theyre located right at the bottom of the page under the text and choices. Still I did donate for choice of the drago n for that reason.I wouldnt be surprised if Android worked the same way in terms of adds, though Im not absolutely sure of course.
