Actually Ishen there are some gamebooks with a very set map where you have to very much remember your directions and where your going, shards of moonlight on chronicles of arborell or Alabors tomb on the ffproject for two. I wouldnt say the point of browser games is 2to complete the story indeed its quite depressing how many browser games are just of the fight and be the best variety with click click combat and no story at all. @Steve, its not just shooters where you go in cardenal directions either, you do the same in any game with a grid based movement from tactical battle to airic the clerric, but to be honest if we listed every single game that had those directions wed be here all day, heck, just the browser games that have them makes up a massive category. Re: any games on that subject please? ya muds have the ability to go in the cardinal directions. interactive fiction games also. the reason for not including the map in brouzer games is because the basic idea of the brouzer game is to complete the story which is given to you. although gamebooks specially have not include the map facility. Actually there are loads (possibly the majority indeed), but that really isnt much of a description. off the top of my head there is drakor (which I just was playing), sie fate, the new game I found, the exploring sections of crimson moon, Monster breeder, the battles in uncharted peak (the main game has destination clicking but the battles are grid based), Muelsfel rise of the golems, assuming that one is still available, The Dark grimoiore, urban dead (though that is more grid based, and parts os sryth. To be honest though playing a game for whether you click directions or whether you click an actual destination on a map really doesnt strike me as good reasoning, sinse there are lots of good games from Warriors 2 and the reborn to metroplexities and KoL which work on click a destination and are no worse for it.Actually if your looking for games with a usual n s e w setup Id personally suggest trying out some muds and inter active fiction games sinse those always do, plus have likely more in the way of actual rooms than at least some of the browser games do.
