Re: yu gi oh mud tournament

Ok everyone, this is what I propose for next tournaments, a system that is used in local events, atleast when there's not a freaking pandemy that prevent people to go at local events... The playing system is as follows:- it's divided in rounds, three, four, five, as the managers want- for the first round, the pairing is randomized- for all the next rounds, you pair together only players who have the same ratio of loss/victory- all games are matches, so it's a best of three game with siding between games- You have to give your deck list to the judges before the tournament, so they can control that you always play the same deck during the tournamentThe positive thing about this system in my opinion is, of course you can play against some one stronger then you sometimes, but since you only play against people who have the same ratio as you do, I think there's a good balance at the end of the day. I hope I was clear, let me know if you want more explanations, or exemples maybe.Later!

Re: yu gi oh mud tournament

Hello thereI'm sorry, in the end it seems I won't be able to register for the tournament. But I'll share some of my reflections for next events, and you'll tell me what you think. I agree with Vazbol, we can't ban metadecks or we're just gonna create a new meta, and we can't ban every decks that can put an O T K on line if played correctly. So, maybe we should think about organizing tournaments for begginers only, and tournaments for everyone to participate in. I know, begginer is a subjective notion, but even if everyone can always improve at the game you have enough sens to know when obviously you're not a new player. That way, we could have tournaments that would be more new player friendly, and tournaments where every player can play without restriction. It's the same as going to a local tournament in real life, those don't exclude experienced players so you can play against every type of players. If you are interested, I can think about a playing system and post it later, or if you have ideas don't hesitate. Later and have a nice day

Re: yu gi oh mud tournament

what i ment was guys, don't use decks that are unbeatable.i ment basically be somewhat noob friendly if other new players want to join.again if players do not bring up defenses that's their problem, i'm just saying lets avoid strong ass meta decks or decks that include cards that can't be beaten by the average normal deck.now, not banning anything, but i'm just saying, please think a bit when choosing a deck so that you can win, but you don't overwelm new players.thanks

Re: yu gi oh mud tournament

The thing is, lots of decks are capable of one turn kills if the opponent doesn't take steps to prevent it or put up a decent enough defense. It's just that meta decks are good at preventing them, or pushing through non-meta defenses against an OTK. I mean, if we don't allow meta decks, I can go and otk everyone with fluffals. Fluffals are capable of outputting enough damage to otk someone who has 16000 lp in tag dual setups (I've done it before). But Fluffals aren't meta because they can be disrupted easily. So are a lot of non-meta decks. They can totally make your life short or painful, but can be easily disrupted if the opponent plans for disruption. I've said this before, and I say it every time someone suggests banning metadecks. The only thing that does is create a new meta, and new painful strategies to arise from the unleashed shackles of the other better decks.

Re: yu gi oh mud tournament

It's easier to eliminate decks that can't potentially ftk than to prevent ftk decks honestly, same goes for difficulty/complexity. If you want a tournament for newer players you may need to find some other way to restrict it.

Re: yu gi oh mud tournament

Hi DennyIt's great that you want to organize a tournament, I was thinking about it for a little while now. But the thing is, your rull about one turn kill decks is nearly impossible to respect, cause a lot of decks, even no meta decks, are perfectly capable of killing you in one turn. If there are some beginners, ofcourse it could be possible to make a list of metadecks that are forbidden, but if you want no decks able of killing you in one turn, the list will be extremey long...As for metadecks, here are those I think shouldn't be allowed if beginners are playing in your tournament.1 Infernoble2 Dragonlink3 DinosaursThose three are the worst in my opinion, if you have no experience playing against them. If someone thinks about other decks, please feel free to complete the list. I'll try to participate, the hour is fine for me but I can't garenti I'll be avalable for all the duration of the tournament. So maybe I can start and after if I have to go I'll drop. Later everyone

yu gi oh mud tournament

hi guys, i was thinking of a tournament of yu gi oh mud, anybody can join as long as you can repect this list of rules.1. no one turn kill decks please, we want this tournament to be fun for anybody, including people that are new to the game, thus people that don't know much about yu gi oh, so please no one turn kill meta decks.2. we're going to have the latest ban list enabled, so that cards like exodia  aren't used.3. please don't switch decks after the start of the tournament, otherwise it wouldn't be fair for the other players who face you.4. have fun. it's the first time i'm organizing a tournament, and i don't know if i'm capable of doing it. some people wil help me out keeping an eye on it.5. we're going to be held by doing a match at a time. thus giving anybody the chance of watching and learning how to play the game from observing a pro or good player at work.6, have fun. this is my first experience on making a tournament, so please no insulting and stuf, thanks.the tournament is going to be held tomorrow, at  2 pm, in italy.you can take a look on the internet on what time it would be for you guys, but i'm pretty sure it's a fair hour fo anybody.thanks, and if you want to participate, just show up at that time on the yu gi oh mud

yu-gi-oh mud

It seems the mud fell by the way side. Its not tough to understand why; the lack of expansion and the limited number of cards to work with can be offputting. That being said, there are still a couple of us that enjoy the duels, and I daresay weve developed some fascinating strategies with the cards there are. So, I would quite like to see some more players on the mud. Even if its a brief revival, theres no such thing as a boring duel.In that vein, Im throwing a tournament. I will do my best to be online consistently for the next 3 days, at least within reason. While online, Id be happy to meet anyone who logs on, discuss the game and give tips.I will also be opening some of my decks to the public so as to allow new people to jump right in without having to construct a new one from scratch. Obviously, you will want your own eventually, but you can get a feel for the mechanics with a successful deck.Start
ing on Tuesday, I propose we have a tournament. Id be happy to moderate. I have no idea what kind of reception this will get, or if there will be any interest at all, so Ill leave this open ended for now. If people start to trickle in though, Ill firm up on the details.
