Well github desktop is the gui for the cmd line.As a tester of electron games I use github, to pull, and clone.You can use it to push, merge etc but its from the menus.I guess if you are used to handling the command interface then go for it.For myself I use it as a tester and the desktop is fine.Github is in command line desktop even universal app though they do say its a backup only.

Well, I guess those general education classes would be considered fluff. Also another thing, with large supermarkets offering their own delivery, which everyone, not just blind people use, and with public transportation  being more used by everyone in general as well, blindness specific costs will be lower as well.

Well, you guys may or may not remember Amazing Allysen. She was one of those interactive dolls that you could have a conversation with. She came with a bunch of accessories that you could put in her hand and she could recognize them. My favorite thing was she actually learned things about you and remembered them. For example, she might ask you if you liked to sing, and she would remember what you told her. Like I said, mine crashed after a week and never worked again. I still don't know why.

So a couple things I think you should consider. Research whether sighted people have  degrees in your chosen profession. If they do, you probably should get one too, as employers are looking to exclude you based  on blindness, with non-blindness reasons as a pretense. Not having a degree when others do, is an excuse for the employer to toss your resume into the trash, claiming X didn't have a degree while Y did. Cost can be a barier for this, as well as blindness  specific issues in certain fields. I would  consider you to think of getting education abroad to take care of the cost issue. Attending college in Europe is more cost effectibe most of the time. In some areas, for example certain parts of Germany, schools will charge a reduced tuition, or no tuition at all. Possibly a small tuition and living expenses are all you would need to pay for if you choose this route. Additionally, afirmative action is practiced to my knowledge, meaning if you are equally or slightly less qualified to a sighted candidate, they  will choose you over them in admissions if you disclose your disabilities. One thing of note though, european degrees are about a year shorter sometimes, and are less broad and more focused than US liberal  arts degrees.  Meaning you only take courses that are in your major, or are related to it in some way, except some electives. A degree in such a school  is considered equivilent  in the US, all you do is  get an accredetation report from an acredetation agency. Living alone is also very doable without blindness specific training.  family descriptions, and demonstrations on how to do things should be enough.

Great info, you know now that you mention it, I had to take math my last semester, which I guess would tie into programming? Any programmers in here? But most of the shit they asked had nothing to do with programming and I don't wanna program. Maybe I'll make a "full" version, which isn't self-voicing.Ideally I want some kind of generic server I can use to put players of my games in touch with each other, probably using PINs or something. Then I could do in-game scores, score boards, and you could either race against the clock, or it could be a turn-based affair.Thanks for the suggestions.

Although a setup with 2 GB and 1 GB is still uncommon and probably not as efficient as it could be with two same-size units in place.We'd need to know your board to see if it can access higher speed RAM btw, although many RAM units are able to be used at lower speeds as well, so it might be possible to use 1600 MHZ RAM units with 1333 MHZ speed only, just the other way around might become more tricky.

@EthinUnless something changed, you can still turn off code signing on Mac.  If nothing else, developers need it, so the switch has to be present.@chrisnorman7Yes, it will be a pain.  You'll be able to do it, being as you presumably already have an app.  This is a accessible but not usable case, and at least with accessible but not usable you can still technically use it.  You will find out just how fun the iOS and Mac appstore review process is, however.@ogomez92Every time I hear this I feel sorry for the person saying it, because it means you've not hit your maximum potential on any platform.  I am as fast as an average sighted programmer.  It took me years to do, and is a major achievement for someone who's blind.  It is not possible to become as fast as an average sighted programmer on mac.In any other context but Mac accessibility, "Everything has bugs, but they're not that bad" isn't an argument we'd allow or something we'd live with.  But for Mac, you pay a lot more for a lot less, and every time this comes up someone will defend that choice with "Everything works, it's just buggy, but you can live with it"  Also, try Xcode sometime, that's where you get to see every single flaw in Voiceover all at once.But let's consider some math.  When skimming large source files you need the first syllable of the line.  At 600 words a minute, that's 10 words a second.  If we say that every word has 2 syllables, that's 20 syllables a second, which is about 50MS per syllable.  Mac adds at least 50 MS to speech latency over all the other platforms, ironically including iOS.  That's a 2x slowdown right there.  Mind you, 600 words a minute with the mac synths is really hard to achieve anyway, and I'm at 800 as are many other programmers.  Nothing like a drunk speech synthesizer.  This is before things like the terminal weirdness, the XCode problems, the browser weirdness, the incredibly lame punctuation support ("less" is much shorter than "less than", "tick" much shorter than "apostrophe").  If indentation also sucks that hurts your ability to work with sighted colleagues.  And unless they fixed it, the speech situation is so bad that key echo skips keys because it can't keep up.I can go get a Windows laptop for half the price and have double the efficiency on literally absolutely everything I do as a programmer.  Objectively, not subjectively.  Same for Linux.  By all means use Mac if it works for you, but please don't be another one of the people who defends it as fine when it's really, really not.  I can honestly say with a straight face that trying to program on a Mac will strongly affect your job performance.  There's a huge difference between "if you learn it better then..." sorts of bugs, and just fundamentally broken screen reader problems, and somehow people are willing to pay double for a laptop with a screen reader full of broken.  I get it if you're doing music or something, but...otherwise, no, I really don't get it.

@9 and @10Nothing else about the computer matters.  If your software needs Core I3 and isn't also 10 year old software, the laptop is better for it even with an M3 processor.Motherboards as old as that don't follow the same rules as modern ones w.r.t. what's fast and what's slow, either.  My understanding is that you only get a performance increase by having ram in two different banks, but a system that old will probably only have one bank with two slots.I suspect your definition of fine is "it's fine because I don't have money and can't do better", not it actually being fine.  Either way, all you can do is try it, you should try it on the laptop first, and also you should start praying to your deity of choice that you can get away without a new computer.

No. Also, it's kind of not legal to own the thing when a vm is an unlicensed copy of Mac OSX, the purchase of a physical machine technically pays for Garageband. Nevertheless, as someone who owns both a physical mac and has ran *it* virtually, I can tell you right now it is not worth it. That lag will make a huge difference and will make the production process that much harder. Just use Reaper and get yourself a Native Instruments controller and some software instruments, and you'll have a nice accessible interface.

@9To get a new release, you git tag and it shows up as a release, if I recall.  The gh CLI utility may have functionality to upload assets to it.  I don't have details because those of us who need automated releasing stuff use CI providers.  Both Travis and Appveyor are free for open source projects, and it's possible they're also free for private repos.  As usual, a quick google for github cli upload release gives a ton of options to do exactly what you're asking for, however--why do you keep asking us first?be aware that GitHub won't tolerate large, frequent releases.  If you're going to upload a 100MB game once a week or something, that's going to get you an e-mail from support at some point telling you to decrease the repository size.  Also be careful with git lfs.  Git lfs is fine for projects that aren't public, but if they're public then forks count against your lfs quota.

Also, a note on combat:Different weapons offer different combat actions. They're available in combat when you've amassed enough Advantage Points (AP). AP is gained from successful attacks. Different combinations of gear are good for different enemies.You'll find combat actions on the top right when you've selected a weapon in the inventory (scrub left when the description is read). You'll also find your current combat actions at the bottom of the character sheet. There's a help button with descriptions of what the different actions do.

I have a minature version of your setup with a DS918+ with 4 x 4tb IronWolf drives in SHR 2 (raid 6) for 2-drive redundancy so that leaves me with 8TB of useable capacity.I find it extremely aggrovating just to do basic tasks like sharing a link using the drive app in a web browser because of how inaccessible that is.

@Hijacker, ah ok.@chrisnorman7 to add on to what I've already said, the subscription services aren't my kind of thing, not only does audible books have drm, which you can remove with software, meaning you can't play your book on most every day media players, and I use other sites to get my audio described content in mp3 format which is much better for me than a netflix subscription.

Age Old Question: Virtualy Routing Audio

So I want to do some gameplay recordings with commentary for a project, and the plan is to do it in Reaper so I can do all the glorious processing I like. I have the hi-fi audio cable and rearoute asio bridge installed, but can't seem to get it to work properly, because the device never registers any sound I send to it through reaper. VAC is super confusing... anyone have any other thoughts? Or at least how to use VAC, since apparently everyone in the world has got it figured out but me? lol

@5 correct. I also had this problem a while aggo but i always used to reset my whole nvda config cause i was to lazy to look it up. Recently though i found you have to turn this on cause i saw it in speech history. It happened when i wanted to press nvda+shift+5 originaly.

I'm afraid google shows up nothing about the game, indeed one of the latest results is audiogames.net. What is odd, is when I search for the developer, glorious games, I find a company called glorious games who apparently develop fashion games for young girls, including one called stardoll,Their page is here.that company have apparently been registered since 2016, though the Stardoll game (according to their website), has been up since 2005. Since that company's website doesn't mention path to Pelantas (or indeed anything about other games besides Stardoll), I assume they perhaps took over the company name from the Path to Pelantas developers, after the game folded, though again I'm not sure. In general Path to Pelantas was a game I could respect the idea of, but never quite could get behind, since it was fiendishly complex, and whilst the battle descriptions were fun, sports management has never been my thing, and even management of a team of fantasy warriors in a weekly battle scenario, the basic gameplay elements didn't change, indeed I was far more interested myself in the quests and resource management aspects than the pvp battling, but there was in general less of that in the game, or at least, I never really saw as much.

The problem with most of these games, for me is that well, war in them is simply a game of numbers. As in you never see your armies battling, you just get a report with the results like victory losses archers:2 soldiers: 3 etc.For me thats very anticlimatic.

I suppose it depends upon what is meant by "toy", here. As Kenshira said, in computer game terms, yes, I absolutely still play on games and consoles I had when I was a kid, both because they are journies and memories, and because frankly games like Turrican, Marrio, final fight, streets of rage  and Metroid are just dam good games whatever decate or stage of life you're in .However, I also had a massive collection of action figures. Heman, ghost busters, Ninja turtles, starwars, wrestlers, the alien franchise, plus a huge number of randomly miscellaneous figures I bought simply because they looked good. I never actually played aliens or heman or ghostbusters or whatever with these, I always made up my own stories and gave the figures my own characters in a universe I designed myself. The funny thing was, at the age of about thirteen, I found the figures were less necessary to me. Not that I wasn't interested in making up stories, just that I no longer needed props. I still remember my action figures fondly, and I wouldn't dis anyone who has them, heck, I still have a lot of  statues (especially dragons), and other fantasy creatures which serve a purely ornamental purpose myself. These days though, I find I am quite capable of making up stories in my head, having thoughts and creating my own universes,and indeed I do that in writing. So, no, at this point, though I remember them very fondly I don't consider that I "need!" to play with my action figures anymore, simply because I have found something better :d.

This isn't possible.  .dat doesn't even tell us what the file format is, it's just a generic thing that you fuse when you have a file you want data in.  Also even if you decrypt it, it's probably not going to be editable text.  In fact, it's quite possible that it's not encrypted in the first place.@4Because this isn't the developer's room and non-programmers don't know how registration systems work let alone how trivial they are to hack.
